on my last visit to a nudist lodge i did remember to bring along the tanning lotion. as i was reclineing on the lounge i began at my chest and arms then went directly to the mid-section. then the legs. as i was at the mid-section i automatically went to the penis. afterwards i was wondering if i should have done that in the shower room before i came out. no one seemed to care.

I'd say "No one seemed to care" because , Nobody Cared. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

If your among nudists they all understand the need to protect "silly willy". It's just another section of skin that needs to be attended to.
Imagine how silly it would look if your entier body was gleaming with tanning oil but the little feller was "dry as a bone".

I'm not going to bore you with all the possible comments as to the negative things one could do. After all, That's not what you were doing.

Simply put. It's OK.

If it is skin and it is exposed; put sunblock on!

Nathan B
08-27-2005, 03:35 AM
I thought about this the first time I went to a nude beach and after I got there didn't give it a second thought as I saw everyone else putting on sun block and whether it was breasts or a penis it was all getting covered.

That is the first place I make sure I get sunblock on!

I am with the crowd here. Exposed skin, put of sunblock. Just do not spend an inordinate amount of time making sure it is covered.

There shouldn't be any issue with you touching your genitalia for the purpose of applying sun screen. No offense is likely to be taken unless there is a clear intent to be lewd.

I was recently at a resort where there was a gentleman who had a nervous habit of stretching his foreskin. I genuinely believe that he wasn't trying to be lewd. He was with his wife and child and several friends. While conversing with them, he would nonchalantly tug on his foreskin. He probably wasn't even consciously aware that he was doing this. My wife and I both noticed this. My wife thought it was funny. It reminded me of the Rodney Dangerfield line, "My family was so poor, if I hadn't been born a boy, I wouldn't have had anything to play with."

I usually put stronger sunscreen on my face than on the rest of my body. After my first time at a nude beach this year on a hot sunny day, I discovered my forehead and nose weren't the only places I needed the stronger stuff. Fortunately, I was just a little redder, not really burnt.
The next time I gave my penis a good coat, too. It just seems like the natural thing to do.

Everything I read says that sunblock is best applied 30 minutes before sun exposure. Therefore I tend to put it on in the room before I go out.

But if I forget, then I just cover my body with it. It only takes a moment to cover the genital area. No one cares.

keith,

Never had a problem with anyone saying anything to me while I applied sunscreen on every part of my body.

We've seen it at the beach, clubs and resorts and the only time you may have someone raise an eyebrow is if the guy seems to be spending a lot of extra time applying sunscreen to his penis and every couple of minutes! http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Otherwise, don't worry about it. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

If it gets exposed to the sun it needs to be covered or have sunscreen on it. I wondered about the same thing the first time I applied sunscreen to my penis, but didn't let it bother me. And if your out for a "long time" remember to reapply. And keep a hat on.

I recommend putting on sunblock in the locker room in front of a mirror.
That way, no part of the face, neck, or back area is missed.

Is this really anymore of an issue than a female putting sunscreen on her breasts or groin area? As long as you don't make an obviously huge deal out of this, it shouldn't be with anyone else.

I think applying sunscreen to genitals falls under "body acceptance." As nudists, we accept all parts of our body as natural and so applying sunscreen to genitals is perfectly acceptable. If anyone were to express offense at that behavior to me, I would laugh out loud!

The beach I attend, guys put sunblock or tanning oil on that mid area with out hesitating and or even caring what others think. I have noticed if there are kids around or families, then they tend to either turn around or hide behind something while applying, (which I think is cool of them) and this way they don't make a wrong impression on an innocent mind. I do believe each beach will be different.

As long as it's done casually, nobody else should care. Just don't look like you're enjoying it. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

As for myself, I tend to play it conservative and put the sunscreen on those parts before I leave home.

Yes Segacious,

Just put on allot of sunscreen. My guy once forgot to put some on his penis and got a nasty burn. He doesn't have the benefit of a foreskin to protect the sensitive tip. My European friends have some forskin that helps allot I think but my guy American is cut as most Americans are. My nipples will burn if I don't put something on them.

It's ok to put it on in public, one would expect to see you protect your skin, but if you stroke it more than once your playing and no one wants to see you playing with it.

If you need sunscreen on a body part then apply in due form yet on the genitles one must be cautious to not apply in a manner that depicts other action purpose.

I don't see anything wrong with that. Privacy is not always an option, but discression is. If it takes 20 minutes to apply sunblock to the penis, something is wrong http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Usually I try to put on tanning lotion and sun block before going outdoors. However once outside, especially when swimming at the beach or pool 2nd and 3rd applications may be necessary. Should be no big deal protecting your skin from the sun no matter waht part of your body it is.

This same question could be asked of women in how she might feel about touching her bossoms to put on sunblock, or on her buttocks.

Don't be shy, in fact get help for those areas you can't reach yourself. (i.e., the upper back).

Until I read these postings I never really gave any thought to not applying sun block to any part my body exposed, including my penis. I just always applied the skin cancer rule, 'if it is skin and it's exposed apply sun block'.

Simple answer is, use a spray on sun block, then you won't get caught touching yourself inappropriatly, or otherwise!!

I have pump action spray lotions, one medium factor, the other is high factor for the more sensative areas, and I was thinking of my nose, ears and neck before you ask!!!

You know putting on lotion is no big deal! It is mostly in your mind no one really ever notices. I just start at the top of my body and work my way down treating every body art the same. If you don't put it on and reapply every so often you will regret it! One sunburn down there is enough to make you a believer for life!

I pay no mind to what others think while I'm smearing on my lotion. I'll rub it on any way I find normal. No, I dont use an explicit motion while spreading it on my body but I also dont try and be discreet.

I also spread it between my cheeks if I end up on my stomach. If there isnt anyone around or near me, I'll lay on my stomach with my rear in the air, or knees far apart so that I can get some sun between the cheeks and get rid of those smiley face lines right under my cheeks and at the top, rear of my legs.

Can't say that I have ever been offended by the manner in which anyone puts on sunscreen or tanning lotion. If you're going to be out in the sun very long, exposing areas that don't already have a good tan, it's either put it on or look like lobster-man. I often use a spray-on type, but whatever type, I put it wherever it needs to be put as often as I think it needs to be.

My guess would be that Most of the people that ask questions like this, Have never been to a nude beach or any other nude function for that matter.
In other words, they are Newbies. With Questions that deserve answers.

Just like a radio or TV has an off/on or channel switch, Peeps can look the other way in a public situation if they don't like or offended at what they see.

There is a difference putting on sun tan or block lotion and other forms of handing the genitals for both women and men in social nude recreation around others. One's appropriate the other is not.

Putting sunblock on the genital area should not be an issue with nudists. If we have accepted that the entire body is wholesome and need not be covered, surely those parts less used to the sun deserve and require protection. I have never seen anyone at our nude beach hesitate to put sunblock all over.
