I've enjoyed going nude since I was ten years old. Always alone in the middle of nowhere or in my house. Yet, that was getting really old real quick. So last night I did something about it.

The drive to the place the local club held its winter swims was about an hour away form my house. It seemed to me to only take about five minutes. Once arriving in the parking lot I started to get really nervous. After about 40 minutes sitting in my truck I made my way in.

As I walked up to the door my heart started pounding harder with each step. My hand started to open the door and the little voice in my head said, "are you sure? " I answered myself by taking a deep breath and stepping in. I had to walk down a little hallway, at the end was a wall with a little window in it that afforded my a small view of what I got myself into. Around the corner I went and was met by a club member who asked me if it was my first time and took my information to prove I was me. At this point I was standing in a little sitting area, on the seats behind the reception table sat a member naked. This is where I realized that I was no longer nervous as she smiled and said hello. It felt completly normal for some reason as I smiled and said hello back.

I was then given a tour of the facility, shown to the locker room where I could put my things and asked if I had any questions. I replied no and she left to go back to visiting with the other members. The moment of truth had arrived, I told myself just do it and get naked so I did. Walking out of the locker room now completly naked except for a towel over my shoulder I felt nothing. I mean I felt weird walking though everyone with clothes on but now I was O.K. In fact members started saying hello and being friendly asking if I've been here before. All of them after finding out it was my first time was happy for me and started telling stories of their first time and places around the area to go nude. I've never met a group of more friendly people. After talking with the members and going skinny dipping for the first time I can now say I am hooked I'm a nudist. By the way I now know that, holy crap bathing suits really really suck. How can I ever go swimming with one on again, let me tell you it won't be by choice.

The one thing I kept saying to myself was why did I wait so long to do this. I had the best time meeting new people, swimming, playing wally ball, and watching the Cavs game. I can't wait till the next swim as now I am a member of Northcoast Naturists and will be for a long time.

I know i felt the same way when i went to the resort and used the pool. it'll be a drag to wear a bathing suit again. Congrats on your first social nudity experience. After the first step is taken the rest is easy and natural. Keep enjoying it. I know i wish we had nude swims around here.

If only more people would give it a try.

Not many would go back to clothes.

This is a hugely common reaction to a first swim...mine too.
