Next weekend there is a c/o Bowling event in Minnesota.

I am planning to attend and so far my wife is still thinking about it. The only problem is, that it's late on Sunday night. Which means I won't be getting home untill around 3am. It's going to make getting to work at 6am a little rough but I think it will be worth it.

Is anyone else planning to attend any events like this one? Has anyone else ever gone nude bowling?
It should be a great time.

As a member of Minnesota Naturists, I have attended one of their nude bowling events. It was great. There was a decent group of people, although mostly men. I plan to attend another one in the future. I'm not sure I can get to the one in April.

We are having a naked bowling event here in Wisconsin in three weeks. They are pretty fun. A nice group of people show up. Maybe you guys can come over and join us.

A problem we've encountered when trying to rent a bowling alley for nude use is the fact that they sell alcohol at most bowling allies and you can't have nude people where they sell alcohol in Texas. Anyone encounter this problem before and any solutions reached? I would love to have a nude bowling get together and I think many members of my club would like that too.

NudeintheNorth; My girlfriend and I went buff bowling Sunday night in Chicago. Our second time. Absolutley great people and fun for all. We made friends, had a few drinks, and watched the tornados move through our area on the TV above the bar. I bowled a 110. Only 2 days away now. I'm getting excited about it now.

I recieved more info about the event. It's actually C/O, so that improved the odds that my wife will join me. She still hasn't said for sure.
I'm going to have to sleep most of the day on sunday so I will have enough energy to stay up that late. But I'll manage.

We've had nude bowling for years with our Cleveland group. They have it in Akron. Due to the nudity laws, this alley I understand, does not serve alcohol so they are legal for nude events. They have a lot of fun I hear, but I have not participated ... yet.

We used to have nude bowling in Toledo years ago, but the alley was sold and the new owners were not interested in allowing family nudism.

We later found another location - a small rental hall that had a few lanes. But apparently someone decided to cause trouble for the owner and the day after one of our events the building was subject to surprise inspections by the health dept, fire dept, building inspectors etc. Not knowing about the existence of towels or the non-sexual nature of social nudism they determined that the rental hall was in violation if it had any upholstered furniture, carpeting, and many other obsurdities. It was all BS, but the owner got the message.

Of course the authorities have no problem with the venue being used for bachelor parties and other forms of 'wholesome' entertainment.

It's a shame people can't just let other people be.

We have no problem here in Wiconsin. The owner of the small lanes is naturist friendly and we have it for an afternoon, including the bar and grille area. Pool tables, dart boards, bowling. Its a fun event!

Sorry it took almost a week to let you know how it went. So here's the report.

I arrived early so I had to sit in the parking lot for about a half an hour untill the bowling center closed to the public and prepared for our group.
I waited untill I had seen several people go in and stay in before I grabbed my bowling bag and joined them.
Once inside I introduced myself to the 3 men sitting at the entry. There was a "signup sheet" and the disclamer form to sign.
After that I headed to the area where everyone else seemed to be gathering. Nearly everyone that was there was already nude.
There were only around 25 people all together. Two couples M/F, and the rest were all men.
No children were there, but one of the organizers said they usually have a few. This was a small turnout compared to what they normally get.

I picked a lane to be on and proceeded to get undressed. This was a little strange for me, considering how much time I spend in Bowling alleys. I bowl in 3 leagues a week and work part time in the local center. So it was a thrill to actually be in a bowling alley nude. Something I'd always wanted to do.
I was the only person to show up with his own ball, bag, and shoes. I guess the rest of them were just casual bowlers at most.

I actually spent more time talking to people than concentrating on my score. They were a great group. I did manage to shoot a 237 one game. I couldn't believe how comfortable it is to bowl nude. I joked that I'd have to convince my league teams to let me bowl nude.

Although the Bartender wasn't a nudist, she was pretty open minded and pleasant to talk to. She said it was the first time she had worked a nude bowling event. Actually it was the first time it had been held at this bowling center.
All the staff was great. I hope to get a chance to go again soon. The next event is sceduled for sometime in October.

It was after 3am when I finally got home. It has been a long time since I went to work on only 2 hours of sleep. But I made it through the day.

All I can say is if you like bowling and ever get a chance to do it nude. DO IT! It's Fantastic.

Sounds like you had a good time, Steve. Actually sounds pretty much like our bowling event here in Wisc. Its definitley a thrill do bowl in the nude. And, I seem to bowl a little better that way. lol We have bowling here this Saturday. I will keep you posted.

Hi closetnudist. I have a question for you. Was the bowling alley you went to located on the grounds at a nudist/naturist resort or club? Just wondering because I have read numerous nudist publications with photos of nudist clubs in action at bowling lanes.

No we bowl at a local alley. I've seen pictures of clubs with pool tables too. I hope the campground/club I plan to go to this summer has a table.

I believe that a few years back I read that Gulf Coast resort near Hudson Florida had nude bowling every sunday at a bowling alley near their resort. I don't know if they still have that, maybe someone will let us know.

Some clubs DO have pool tables. I know Pine Tree in Maryland had one, and I'm sure that others do as well.

Wish we had some non-landed activities here, and bowling included.

I'm bowling left handed now, since April when my right shoulder froze up. Only averaged 100 during the summer, sometimes guttering 3 throws in a row. Average now runs 120-130. High game is 191; started off with 4 strikes and a spare. Have bowled 3 turkeys (incl. that quad).

Started taking out some left side pins now with my right hand, because killing the hook with the left one is very difficult. Very difficult to pick up the 7 pin.

I remember some time ago, there was a nude recreational activities get together in the Fresno, CA area. I missed it (due to work), but I was curious if anyone in this area is interested in trying to get another one happen sometime again this year.

Two things you can do -- first of all, check out both www.aanr.com (http://www.aanr.com) and www.naturistsociety.com (http://www.naturistsociety.com).
The AANR page lists clubs and groups that are affiliated with them. Go to their page, click on "clubs" and follow the links. The Naturist Society also does that - go to their page, click on Naturist Network, and in the pull-down, look for events in your state/province or those adjacent to you.

If there ISN'T a group in your area, why not start one up? The Naturist Society and AANR both will help you in that effort.

I did not know nude bowling was so popular until I read this thread.

I attended my first nude bowling event last weekend here in Maine. It was the third time our group has rented this bowling alley. I understand that each event has been successful and well attended. It was the night I went.

We did have one incident. The windows and doors had been covered with paper, so we could not be seen from the outside, and the owners had posted a "Building closed for private party" sign on the outside of the door. But a man with his 8 year old son ignored the sign (or didn't see it) and came in, and saw at least one nude guy playing pool. He was informed of the private party and quickly left.

But he called the police after he left, and we were visited by an officer soon after. The officer couldn't see that any laws were being broken and after chatting with the owner and the head of our group, left. This resulted in a short blurb about this in the local weekly paper. This is just a heads-up for others holding an event like this; be prepared in case an accidental visitor comes in.
