I am going to Key West this summer, for some R&R and a little scuba diving. I sent an email to the Florida Keys Naturist for recommendations on some clothing optional places to stay and go too. They gave me two places to stay, the first one is Marrero's Guest Mansion and the other one is Pilot House.

Has anyone stayed at either of these places and do you any recommendations or comments. I would like to know before I go.

We have stayed at the pilot house. We found it very comfortable. As you know,I assume, there are many gays in Key West so be prepared to be surrounded by mostly male and gay guests. We certainly found no issue and, in fact, made several new friends there. I am not familiar with the other hotel/guest house

Atlantic Shores Motel at the southern shore of Key West is clothing optional in their swimming pool only.

Stayed at Marrero' Guest House and it was great. While the inn is not completely clothing optional, they do allow nudity around the pool which is completely private for the guests. They have a clothing optional hot tub as well on the pool terrace.

Breakfast and cocktails are served every morning and night and a great way to meet other guests staying at the inn. Walking distance to everything in KW, just blocks away.

Enjoy!

Although I have never stayed there, I have heard that the pier out over the sea at Atlantic Shores is clothing optional in addition to the swimming pool area.

Yes, I have seen a few nude people go out on the short pier. I am told that the management prefers everyone to keep a low profile (not appear above the privacy fencing) as textile persons from the nearby surrounding buildings can see you, nude. They can not see you when you are sitting down, or lying down sunbathing, or in the pool.

Weekends are busy with hetero couples at the pool deck, but on week days couples are sparce.

Anyone can stay at a better motel/hotel and still use the Atlantic Shore Motel's swimming pool, deck, bar and pier, as they are accessible by the walk-in public.

I do not know how true this is, but someone on the internet stated that Atlantic Shores Motel will close in January to make way for a condominium to be built in its location.

A pier isn't a privacy fence, it is a fancy elevated deck that extends over the water. My guess is you could walk about 100 feet.

The pier was damaged last year by Hurricane Wilma, but it should have been rebuilt by now.

Jason....I deleted both of "her" posts. It is a common scam..usually as an email here in the states.

We went with naturist friends a few years ago and all the above recommendations seem acurate to us. I remember one rooftop bar in Key West we went to have a drink. It was C/O so we took off our clothes to have our margaritas. It began to rain heavily and seeing clothed people run for cover was hilarious. Of course we just sat in the rain nude and let the rain pour.
Also after we were there we heard about a charter boat company that runs nude cruises. We wish we had known before going so we could have signed up.
