Anyone going to White Tail next weekend for the Open House?
I'm 23, white male. It would be great to make some new friends who live around Richmond.
Hope to see lots of people there.

Hey Rabid_ Clam, are you going to be there? It's free and only about an hour away from you! Sounds like a great opportunity to meet other naturists/nudists in your neck of the woods http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wink3.gif

Wife's chemo is supposed to be over and she's feeling better. We hope to be there. Won't know for sure until Friday though.

I will definitely be going, and feel as though this is the one event a year that is a MUST DO because of the members it is likely to attract. Personally I am hoping to meet as many people from ClothesFree's Forums as possible, get acquainted with the long-time members (because I have not been there in a long time) and TRULY support the resort where I began my nudist life!
I am also planning on car pooling with anyone from the southeasterly direction of WTR if you have room, or POSSIBLY can take an additional 3 people (or more with kids in the back of the SUV) along to this event; whatever people feel safe and or comfortable doing.
Departing Friday evening by 7:00 p.m. or early Saturday morning in order to arrive by 8:00 a.m. (an hour before the Open House begins). I have e-mailed ahead to see if there is anything I can help out with, and I hope there is because this increases the opportunities to make new friends.
I am also considering the possibility I might meet up with a co-worker or two, or maybe an old classmates from the Virginia Beach High School of Princess Anne, Class of 1984. THis would be fabulous and I am sure all would get a good laugh out of reuniting this way!
I hope to see you all there!

I'll be driving down early Friday morning. The weather is supposed to be fairly typical for this time of year. Hot and humid, lots of sunshine and a chance of scattered thunderstorms. I was at the car show last year and it was great. The car folks love having this event at a nudist park. No belt buckles to scratch the car's finish. Really!! Anyway, if you're in the neighborhood and haven't been to WTR before, it's a great time to visit.

Was tempted to visit WTP for the first time but just have so much to do the next two weekends. That is really no excuse but I do have to get these chores done so I can take a weekend off to visit my mother who won't be with me much longsr.
Just the way it is, and life goes on.

My wife is out of town, so today I visited the White Tail Resort Open House and Car Show as a single male. When I arrived, the gate was open and there was a nude greeter directing traffic. I liked that. I have visited other resorts where the office staff were dressed and I saw nobody nude until I got to the pool deck. Such a situation makes one wonder if they have arrived at the wrong place.
My wife and I now have a private backyard swimming pool, so it has been a few years since our last visit. I did not qualify as a first time visitor, so I was obligated to pay the grounds fee. The last few times we visited were to use the indoor pool during the middle of the winter. This is the first time that I had used the new outdoor pool. I liked the fact that sections of the pool deck are covered by awnings for those who wish to limit their sun exposure.
The car show was modest with perhaps twenty vehicles. My favorites were a 1961 Datsun pick-up and White Tail Resort's circa 1960 International Harvester fire truck. Does any other nudist park have its own fire truck?
I find the evolution of the American nudist crowd to be very interesting. As usual, those present were generally in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s. There were very few kids. At least half the crowd seemed to be smokers. Tattoos and body piercing now seem to be increasingly popular among senior citizens.
I have seen mention on this forum that White Tail Resort had a nature trail that is slowly being resuscitated following damage during hurricane Isabel. I asked a few people where the entrance to the trail could be found. Nobody knew anything about it.

The nudist park I belong to, Cedar Waters, DID have a volunteer fire department in the 1950s! It had been legally incorporated as a village and took responsibility for its own fire management -- and had a "mutual aid" compact with the town of Nottingham.

If you had walked up the road from the car show towards the damaged pop-up, at the corner of the woods, gone past it about 30-40', you'd have found the trail on your left. 3' wide, and well mowed.

I met Centauri4 and his wife. And another member from here. Great people all! I can't speak for them, but my wife and I really enjoyed meeting them and really their company. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif
It was hard to keep on any one subject at times because of so many others stopping by and joining in the conversations. It's like a family reunion everyday there! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

Thank you! I know exactly the spot that you are writing about. I had a hunch that the start of the nature trail would be there and walked up to that area. There was no sign marking it, so I decided that the management probably didn't want visitors to go there, so I didn't walk any further. I now wish I had. There has been so little rain lately that the bug population has died off. It would have been a great day for a nude walk through the woods.

You can check at the office to verify my comments before doing anything.
To the best of my knowledge. 'Off-Limits' areas are marked. And the 'unmarked' ones are 'Any occupied' campsite whether the residents are or aren't there, residential yards, any office/supply/storage/or private area.
You can hike all the way to rear of residential area through the trail and down the main residential road. You can hike the primitive area. No path has been cleared along the creek, on the left side of the resort. One is planned, but is dependant on volunteers to cut and maintain.

My wife was sufficiently intrigued by my description of the changes at White Tail Resort that we made a visit this weekend. I located the trail and ventured down the length of it. Thank you for the information regarding its location.
