This am when I got up it was raining hard. I went to the kitchen to let the dogs out and get my coffee. When the dogs noticed the rain they backed up and didn't want to go out. Well it was 78 degrees at 5:30 so I coaxed the dogs outside by going out first. They did their business and wanted back in. I thought this feels great, nude in the rain, I haven't done this for years so I stayed out and walked around the yard. At 5:30am none of my neighbors were up so since today was garbage day I walked the can to the road. I then went back inside fixed my lunch and took it to the car. Then I thought I better go dry off get dressed and go to work. Just one of lifes little enjoyable thiings that we take for granted.

I did a couple times too and I just loved the feeling. The last time I was going naked camping I kept watching the weather to see if I was going to go or not because of rain and then decided that it would be great if it did rain! It didnt rain but of course still had a great time. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

I have been at Wreck Beach several times in the rain, and have enjoyed walking nude the several kilometers from Wreck to Acadia beaches. I seem to be the only one to enjoy the experience though, because each time I have apparently had the beach to myself.

Sure! We vacation on St. Martin every year and stay at Club Orient. Rain cells pass over this island constantly and on ocassion, when we have been walking the beach, it rains and we just continue our walk.

It feels great and we dry off faster than we'd like sometimes.

Another good reason to go nude when hiking, 'biking or to the beach...

Rain makes no difference, in warmer weather, when there are no clothes to bother with..

(Most of the time it will be cold winds - and not the rain - that causes discomfort, chilling and possible hypothermia..).

Yes at haulover beach. Since there was no thunder it was safe to walk nude in the rain.

It felt great.

I have many times. In the hot summer, it is great to feel the energy of the summer storms, just be sure you aren't at the peak of a mountain, or under the tallest tree.

Even in the Fall/Spring hiking nude in the rain can feel warmer than with clothes. I find that in a light rain, I keep perfectly dry while hiking as my body heat evaporates most of the rain.

And when I was in Guam every afternoon there seemed to be a rain that lasted all of 15 minutes. I was often swimming and it felt kind of weird to be in the water, and having rain at the same time. And no, these weren't thunder storms, so it was safe.

When I lived in the north, in the summer sometimes there were warm rains and it was nice to be in the rain.
Strangely enough, now that I live in the deep south, even in the summertime the rain is usually too cold to enjoy, and of course hail is no fun at all. Maybe the rain here is generally cold because the altitude of rain clouds may be higher, or something else.
Warm rain is nice in the summer, especially if it is not too intense.

vapaa, I have also freehiked in the snow. I don't do this barefoot, but with boots. If there isn't too much wind, it can be much more pleasant than some might imagine. I usually prefer more strenuous hikes in the winter so that my natural body heat keeps me warm.

My hot tub is on the deck just outside the family room. My favorite time is to use it during the rain. I have also went for hikes in the rain at various resorts I've visited. I think its a great way to enjoy nature and all you need is a towel when your done.

I walked nude in the rain (even danced !)
It was so great to be free of clothes.

It was quite a feat because the temperature was cool at about 5C (around 37F).

The last time my wife and I stayed at Caliente, we decided to go off property for dinner one evening. While we were in our room getting ready, it started pouring ready hard. This kind of upset us, because we were really hungry, our umbrellas were in the car across the parking lot, and we didn't want to be sitting in a restaurant soaked. So after about 5 minutes of waiting for the rain to let up, I thought, hey...we're at a nudist resort...we can go to the car naked! So we shoved our clothes and some towels in a trash bag and walked to the car. We dried off in the car, got dressed and went to dinner dry!

5C = 41F, FYI. I find that temps above 45F = 7C are comfortable to me to hike in, but I have hiked in temps as low as 30F = -1C. If there is any wind, though there is danger of frostbite, and that is a scary thought if you are freehiking! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/shocked.gif

Has cooled allot from mid week. Would love to be in a rain storm here but lightening is a very real concern. THe yard next door has been hit 3 times this year, they are the last user on a power circuit.

I am the last user on a different power circuit. That is where radiation sets up and it attracts lightening. I did get the power company to do a better job of grounding on my pole and that has all but stopped lightening strikes in my yard. But the person next door needs work and won't do it. Oh well.

Years ago , at Sunshine Gardens in Battle Creek , MI., I went for an early morning run. The sun was barely up, and there was a light rain. There was also a foggy mist that limited visability to about ten ysrds, and seemed to glow like mother of pearl in the pale light.
It was MAGICAL. Evan tho I nearly steped on a skunk! I still dont know who was more releived, me or the skunk!

Yes, I got caught out on a hiking trail once, hiking nude and the bottom fell out, it was a welcome cooling off, but made the hiking a bit messy, slosshing in the mud. It was spring and the rain falling was a bit cool after a little while, but it made for a memorible hike.

Two days ago we had a horrendous rain storm, got 3 inches in a hour and a half. I really wanted to go outside nude in all that but the lightening was kind of fierce. In fact, there was so much lightening that the sky was totally lit like a horizon to horizon billion quintillion watt florescent light. In fact, there was no break between lightening strikes, they were going on in multiple beams all starting long before any previous stopped. Would have been suicide to go outside, but sure would have felt good ! The rain that is, not so sure about being hit by a bolt of electricity.

I have a few times. A few years ago, my wife and I were on one of the Family Islands in the Bahamas. We'd hiked over to the beach next to us, and on the way back it started to rain. We just continued on the dirt road back to the house, letting the rain wash all over us.

A similar thing happened this past trip down there. My daughter and I were at a beach near by, and were walking back to the car. A shower rolled over us, and we just walked on. I told her that was one of the great advantages of walking nude on the beach, it didn't matter if it started raining!

I have yet to be out in the rain nude as a planned activity. However, the other night while trying to set up my tent the clouds rolled in and it started to lightning. Just as I got the tent up it began to hail. Fortunately, that's all it did.

Next time I'd like it to be a warm gentle rain.

Late last night it was still raining so I walked around in my backyard nude. The sensation of the raindrops on my bare skin was fantastic. When I came back inside, I didn't need a towel to dry myself because I really wasn't that wet. Sure beats having wet clothes sticking to me.

Nude in the rain is so much more fun, as long as there is no lightning, than being clothed. We visited friends at a camp they go to(not clothing optional) and got soaked and cold. Would not have been warm enough for a nude walk anyway. We did have a lot of fun and look forward to going again.

We have been caught in several afternoon Florida thunderstorms while visiting Playalinda beach. Aside from the awesome lightning over the ocean, it was a fantastic feeling. I also found it funny to see people on the beach get dressed to run to their cars while the rain was coming down. We waited until we were at the parking lot ramp to throw something on-sure beats the drive back in wet clothes.

I have not really walked around nude in the rain, but, once on a cruise in the caribbean I was laying out in the topless section, nude. There was one other person and they were nude as well. There was a sudden cloud burst and we both go up and enjoyed the rain. The people around the main pool were getting dressed and left the area. We both stayed up there and the rain stopped and the sun came back out, so, it was back to sunning. It was a cool experience!

Got caught in a real cloudburst earlier this week. Was doing some outdoor work in the nude and was about 100 yards from our house. What a refreshing feeling, like a huge shower with multiple jets covering my entire nude body. Really enjoyed it. The skin dries suprisingly fast. Looking forward to the next time.

As a member of the UK we are more likely to walk in the rain. An umbrella is a useful item along the lines of the Aleut natives who also appear to have forgotten to invent clothing. They lived in sub-Arctic conditions and hid behind screens (umbrellas!) from the biting winds.
Strange comment one of our walkers said it would be strange to be walking naked in the woods under an umbrella. Surely it is more strange to deny the warm rays of the sun or the tingling of a cool breeze on your skin.
I recently attended a low tide naked bike ride. Why get my clothes wet? I put them in a bag and finished off the ride with a skinny dip. The air cooling my body and salt water spray was great. Clammy textiles; no way!

Walking in the rain in the tropics (where the rain is warm and more like taking a shower) is very enjoyable. Wlaking in the rain in the northern or southern climes is not, as the rain is usually cold.

I try not to pass up an opportunity to enjoy a natural rain shower, as long as its warm enough, but it usually takes place in my backyard, rather than while walking. There are a few memorable times that happened while away from home though.

About 15 years ago, the Eastern Naturist Gathering was held at Avalon Resort. My wife and I, along with our friends, were just finishing setting up our campsites. As if on cue, the skies that had been threatening rain for a while, opened up with a heavy deluge. Since it had been a hot and sticky day, we wasted no time stepping out from under our canopies to cavort in the warm summer rain. I don't think any shower could have felt better.

One summer day, roughly twenty years ago, I was hiking (clothed) in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. It was a very hot and humid day. I spent the afternoon in the river, but decided to go for a hike before I went home. I planned to take another dip in the river before leaving, but shortly before I got back to the car, it started lightening. Crap! I sat in the car and waited. Then it started to rain - really hard. The lightening didn't seem to be very close, so against my better judgment, I took off my clothes and stepped out into the rain. It felt great. I was parked at one of the little dirt side roads that run from Old Mine Road, back to the river. Since it was late in the day, I figured that no one else would be coming back there any more that day, I decided to take a walk. I was a couple of hundred yards away from my car when I saw a van coming out into the clearing, headed for me. I dived down into the weeds and it passed by. I was apparently unseen. The van continued on to the dead-end, turned around and parked in front of my car - facing me. Double crap! I could do nothing but wait. So I waited .... and waited ... and waited. The rain stopped, the sun came out again and still the van sat there. I could see there were people in both front seats, but couldn't make out any details. I don't know how long I waited, but it was a long time; at least half an hour. Finally I got up the nerve to do it: I stepped out of my hiding spot and walked toward the van (and my car behind it). As I got close I could see a girl in the passenger seat and a guy in the driver's seat. As I passed the open passenger window I sheepishly said: "sorry, I didn't expect anybody to come back here this late in the day." The guy leaned over and with a big grin said: "No problem! We're naturist's too." I stopped and we chatted for a good ten or fifteen minutes about naturism, our favorite spots and other stuff. The guy seemed really happy to trade info. I was nude the whole time we talked. The girl seemed mildly uncomfortable.

Although a nice summer shower can be a real treat, still, sometimes you just want to wait out the rain. (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2151/1569170703_f8fffc46a1_o.jpg)

I don't think so. The rain is often warmer than air. The rain is uncomfortable if you are wearing clothes that become wet, but when you don't wear clothes, that's entirely different.

Yes, I have been naked in summer rain, walking or cycling. The fact that it rained hard made it fairly improbable that anyone else would just then use the same rural pathway or otherwise see me there when I cycled about one kilometer from my summer home to the mailbox.

The only time I have the opportunity to walk nude in the rain was last year hiking out from Deep Creak Hot Springs. It was only a brief summer shower but it sure felt good.
Unfortunately when we get rain in Southern California there is usually a strong wind with it. This makes the chill factor to cold to be out nude.

One of my walkers posted this:
...the tingle of rain on my body does nothing for me; it is the stinging of heavy rain that really excites me!
I agree rain wets clothes that conduct heat away from body - nasty
rain wets skin, skin dries naturally - nice!
Wind does not come into this equation apart from the idea that an umbrella is most appropriate. You can be naked but deflect the wind.
Our walking group always shows great respect to our overweight walkers. We accept that they have better thermal insulation so we put them in the lead. The other walkers can then walk behind said individual using him/her as a wind-break!

In 2004 I went on a combination nude hike and nude camping trip with my dog Mickey. I was going out a old log truck road that I have hiking many times to a landing once used to collect the logs for transporting.
Anyway, I had the tent up for maybe a half hour before the unexpected shower began. I had no idea it was coming. But I took advantage of it and lathered with my soap as best I could and shampood my head. I had planned to do this in the big pool maybe 30 feet from the landing. Yes, there is a stream, and I have enjoyed skinny dipping in it many times.
I enjoyed the time in the rain, playing fetch with Mickey and just sitting there relaxing in the glow of the moonlight.
I have been hiking nude in the rain since, but, no memories are as pleasent as the one told above.

It's too cold for me. The last time I was caught in the rain at my nudist club, I braved it for about five minutes then had to sit it out in the hot tub. That was nice though. Warm all through with cold rain beating on my head. It was like being snuggled up in a warm sleeping bag with the rain beating on the tent walls.

It rained super hard for over an hour and I never got out of the hot tub.

It seldom rained in the summer where I grew up (Northern California) but when I was 13-14 and it rained, I'd take off all my clothes, pull on the big pullover raincoat that came to my knees (stepdad used it for hunting) and walk barefoot through my neighborhood -- no one was the wiser. Not exactly fully naked but man did it feel good!

LOLOL, yes he was. But he wasn't naked when doing it. Hmmm does having an umbrella constitute being naked in the rain?

Last week or so I got to do this again. I've generally resisted being deliberately in the rain for most of my adult life due to the unpleasant memory of being in the rain for 8 solid days once (with temps in the 30's and 40's) while serving in the army. However earlier this year I tried it for awhile on a warm summer day and found it very pleasant.

Last week the temps were very warm for an October day and I decided to throw on the water sneakers and take a walk back into the woods on my property. It was a nice experience however after 10-12 minutes I could tell I was getting a bit cool. I'd say that a longer experience would be nice if I was doing a walk that was more difficult and needed greater effort so as to generate body heat. But to just amble along in a drizzle, it was a bit cool for that.

But the main thing for me is that I think I'm finally over my dislike of the rain which opens up possibilities for the future.

I'm thinking that there are lots of popular hiking trails in the area that are all but abandoned during predicted rainy times. I might turn that situation to my advantage...

Out of the 4 or 5 five times I have had the pleasure to walk naked in the rain my favorite time was in a deluge in Louisiana in october. It still frequently warm there in october. This night it was in the mid 70's. I was visiting relatives that live in a Jamacian style plantation house built in the 1840's. It had a formal garden in the front of the house. I had the house to myself for the evening. When it started to pour I stripped of and went walking in the garden. It was GREAT!!!!

I love the summer rains. Well, when there's no lightning. I used to wander the woods naked as a kid and loved the feel of raindrops on bare skin and damp earth beneath my feet. I still enjoy it today, although the opportunities are fewer.

It's nice when camping to just accept the rain and not have to deal with wet clothes. I introduced the concept to a fellow backpacker once when the heavens opened while we were setting up camp our first day out. I stripped off and covered my clothes and pack, pitching my tent nude. He gave me a funny look as I worked, then realization struck and he did the same. The rain set in and we enjoyed it as we made camp, not hindered by rain gear and wet clothes. Then we enjoyed "wet lounging" on some rocks by a creek to relax after a full day. We didn't bother to dry off until we cooked dinner in the vestibule of my tent more than an hour later. After that experience we never bothered with clothes at the end of the day for the rest of the trip, raining or not.

Since i live in South Florida (usually hot) and shower outside 100% of the time, it has occurred often that it will be raining when I go to take my shower. This is no problem (unless there is lightning) as I just use a little less city water and use a little more rain water. Even in winter, I am able to shower through the rain. Interesting sensation to have different temperature water hitting you at the same time, but very enjoyable none-the-less.

I have never set up my tent when camping in the rain naked, but will have to try that one day...

The last time I was at the nudist resort I frequently visit, I was walking the trail that circles the lake. It started to storm, and since it was 90 out, it felt great to have the rain splashing on my naked body. I walked around for about a half and hour.

Two summers ago, I had set out to hike nude at one of the local park's trails. I was not quite 1/2 way through, when it just poured. And, again this past summer, I was at Chataqua Gorge in New York hiking nude along the water, and I got caught in a pretty heavy downpour.
Since I was nude, it certainly felt refreshing not having to worry about wet clothing clinging to my skin

I did just a couple of weeks ago. It was about 2am and was about 65 degrees. It felt great! I was out on a local trail near my home. I'm going out to my favorite place this morning and they are saying it could rain today, so who knows. Might get the chance again.

Our naturist club photo album has a picture of me standing outside in a downpour with my shower gel taking a rain shower. Lots of suds as rainwater is soft water. However, it was freezing cold and I could only last a few minutes. Now that technology has moved on I must get that photo scanned and posted.

I've tried being nude in the rain a number of time, seems it's usually just too cold of a rain for me as I quickly get chilled. The air is warm enough to be in and be comfortable, but that rain was just a bit too much.

I love to hike nude in the rain. The local trails are usually abandoned during even intermittent showers, so I can hike any time of day. So long as it's not a cold rain, it's great because there are less mosquitoes and you don't overheat. If you haven't tried it, you should!

Two summers ago I went on a nude hike with a friend. It was overcast but we thought we had enough time to reach the car. About halfway there, they sky opened up and it poured for a good half hour. We found shelter under an overhang and just waited for things to let up. At the first break we continued and just made it to the car before an even heavier downpour started. It was a great experience. And because all of our clothes were in a plastic bag, we had something dry to wear on the way home.

I have been nude in the snow as well. It was during a snowstorm in an outdoor hot tub. At one point I had to go back to the car for something, so I walked back to the parking lot nude, with the snow falling all around. It wasn't bad because there was no wind at all, and I was sort of pre-heated from soaking in the tub. Only the bottoms of my feet froze!

A warm summer rain is nice but the cold driving rains of fall or winter or early spring are not so nice. However I have been nude in the snow as well not bad if it is just 32F 0C and you are working hard like shoveling snow. keep the cardio up and you can enjoy outdoor nudity in cold weather went out this morning to get the paper nude and it was 25F about -5C no wind so that made a huge difference.

I've been caught in some of those quick popup summer downpours when out hiking along some of the isolated beaches. Usually (as long as there isn't hail) the best way to ride one out is to stuff all your clothes and gear into a large plastic garbage bag (you always carry one on hikes, don't you? - Keep it in your fannyback or backpack). That way you'll have warm dry clothes to change back into when the rain ends and you head home.

I never thought about that. It's such a no-brainer I'm slapping my forehead as we speak. Wearing damp clothes probably makes it harder for our bodies to dry off and get warm after a storm. I could probably avoid a few colds with that strategy.

I was at a resort (nudist of course) in Vermont a couple of summers ago, sitting out on deck of rental cabin which extended out towards the lake on the property. It started raining really hard, sat there naked in the pouring rain for about 40 minutes listening to it hit the deck and the lake, it was the most tranquil afternoon I spent in a long time.

I've walked nude in the rain a number of times and it's great. As long as it's not a very cold rain of course. Started doing it as a young teen growing up on a farm, just like to go out to the fields and woods and be naked outdoors. I tried it one night when it was raining and very windy and loved it. The last time was about 2 years ago at the nude beach. It was a very hot, humid day and clouded over and started to rain. I just rolled up my towel and put it in my bag, and put the bag under a bush. Then walked the beach nude while the rain last for about 20 minutes, it felt great.

Years ago my wife and I used to stay at a cottage my that family had built and owned for a long time. My wife would almost always sleep in, but I would routinely wake up at 5:30 or 6 (without an alarm clock - it must have been the birds). Most days, rain or shine I would go for a crack-of-dawn nude walk around the heavily wooded property. I sometimes would first have to chase away the equally nude horses that had been let out to graze for the night from the riding ranch down the road and were breakfasting on our grass. Most often the trees and grass were dripping with dew, but were rapidly drying. Occasionally it would be drizzling and sometimes raining steadily. My favourite time was heavy fog.

In all of this weather, the direct feel of it (with the varying breezes driving it along) was intense and indescribable. It made me feel alive and very in tune with nature. I began to take more notice all kinds of animal, bird, insect and aquatic life (every one of these creatures naked too). It was very like the feel of skinny dipping and then walking out and letting the air dry you out - at once very natural and right, while being quite sensuous (not sexual but full of intense sensation. I am reminded of the old John Denver song). I found that I quickly became comfortable in all sorts of weather, far more extreme then I imagined I would be - you quickly adapt to any cold or dampness.

I would recommend the experience of exposing yourself to most forms of weather to anyone. Within reason of course.

Our cabin has the shower downstairs and the main living area upstairs. However there are no inside stairs between the two, you have to go around outside. (The joys of hillside living.) I went for a shower one day, and because it was raining lightly I decided to leave the textiles including the towel upstiars. I took the key and off I went. It was cool, about 13°C. I hurried down and had my shower. When finished I grabbed the key, locked the door and headed upstairs. I dropped that darn key in the dead leaves half way up. By the time I found it, the coolness and the rain didn't bother me any more. In fact I was rather enjoying the feel of the small rain drops. Each one was a small cool sensation.

I am hanging onto that key tighter, but not running up the stairs anymore.

This winter one night, as I took out the garbage, it was snowing hard. I was nude as I gathered the garbage. It was the night before pickup day so I took bags to the can then took the can to the road while totally nude. It was a different experience not only nude in a snow storm but barefoot in the snow. Too cold to stay out long but fun indeed.

Sure does bring back memories for me as well when I lived in another state and was living with my girlfriend and her young daughter. To make a long story short one Sunday morning I woke up, went to the frig for a cold soft drink and have a smoke that I do every morning. Since my g/f and I slept nude everyday well I heard a noise from the kitchen table and low and behold my g/f's cousins were there for us to make them breakfast since it was our turn. So being careful as I made bacon, eggs and potatoes we all sat down and they were okay with us being the way we were and enjoyed a Sunday having company with us.Me and g/f went our separate ways later on but sure remember those good old days with her.

Pete,

I do the exact same thing when my wife and I vacation in the Bahamas. We rent a house, right on a semi-secluded beach on one of the Out Islands. She always sleeps in, but I get up with the sun. I slap on the sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat, and head out for a nude walk on the beach. The entire beach is about 2 miles. We're close to the southern end. I'll increase the length of my walk each day so that about half-way through our trip, I'll make it all the way to the north end. We go in the late summer, so there are very few people down there when we are. I have encountered a few people from time to time, but they take my nudity in stride.

I haven't encountered a rain shower on those early morning walks, but we've had others later in the day. I posted about them earlier on about page 3 or 4.

I don't know why, but something just triggered a memory.

When I was 14 and in the boy scouts, we were on a camping trip. We went for a hike. While hiking it started to rain. The scout leader suggested we take our uniforms and put them in water proof bags we had for trash. This way when the rain stopped, we would have dry clothes.

All of us then stripped naked and put our clothes in the bag. It then started raining harder. We were all hiking nude. Along the way, the rain slackened and stopped. When we got to our lunch spot we were all dry and when we opened the water proof trash bags, our clothes were dry.

No one thought of anything sexual and there were no problems. I am sure it would not happen that way today. But no one thought anything of it then.

Not quite walking in the rain, but close. A few years ago my wife and I were camping at Belezy, a naturist resort in the Provence-Alpes region of France. One evening there was live music in the covered terrace by the bar. Before the concert started, the rain started - not too heavy, and it was not cold. My wife decided to stay in the tent reading, but I wandered down, naked, to listen to the music. It was great. I was the only one naked - most were in full wet weather regalia - which was a little weird and one man commented on how brave I was! Whether I was brave due to the weather or simply being the only one naked, I don't know.

At the end, I went back to my tent, dried down with my towel and went to sleep, while most of the others probably spent the next few days drying their designer wet weather gear!

Quite right you are, Walter.

In part, due to past abuses/abusers, the pendulum has swung rather far to the conservative side. It is best to avoid any intimation or perception of impropriety, and not just for the protection of the youth.
From the Guide to Safe Scouting, Youth Protection (http://www.scouting.org/healthandsafety/gss/gss01.aspx): "Appropriate attire.
Proper clothing for activities is required. For example, skinny-dipping is not appropriate as part of Scouting."

As a Scouter, the things I've seen or heard about over the years would now get the Scouts a little gentle "counseling" about appropriate conduct/attire (with two or more other adult leaders) at the least. Benign shenanegans really, like walking to/from the shower with (or without) a towel over their shoulder or sitting nude or nearly so by their patrol campfire at night. (It's not like stripping the SPL and duct-taping him to a tree.) I have seen parents get UPSET when they heard so-and-so did WHAT, and my son was exposed to THAT, and what are you DOING out there?! And it can be even more interesting when their son was involved.

Kids just really can't be kids anymore, and it's not just in Scouting either.

when I was in the scouts, I learned something very important. Never urinate on a fire.

A group of us were sitting around the fire and decided to go to bed. We all decided to make sure to put the fire out. We decided urinating on it would be a fun way to do it. Burning urine stinks. It was aweful for a long time.

I am sure that would not happen now.

As I was growing up back in southern Colorado I did do alot of fly fishing and as I was fishing on a stream, the sun was nice so I was all alone and decided to fish with no clothes on and deepen my tan, soon the weather changed and where I had placed my clothes, it was a good distance away. As the rain fell, I sure enjoyed the feeling that many of you expressed. I did my limit of rainbow, german brown fish and sure had a great time. On my return trip for my clothes I was eaten alive by mosquitoes and I learned to take garlic pills and no way did these critters ever come close to me again. My tan was great and I did this several times during the summer in southern Colorado.

I once ran without a stitch in a late night downpour, and for a good hour I felt the incredible rain wash over every single inch of me. Eventually I had to lay down in the grass outside my house, and the shower would not cease. Being bathed by that amazing downpour, I have never felt so enlivened, so natural, so... wet! But I was ecstatic. Has anyone else gone streaking(for lack of a better word) at night in the rain? If so, did you feel as wonderful as I did? Please let us hear!

Lots of times. But one of the best times was the first time.

I was living in Montreal and had gone to the Riviere Rouge, halfway between Montreal and Ottawa, where there was an established nude beach at the time. It was a warm day; began to cloud over; I was getting ready to go when it started to rain: it just poured, big drops.

I had so barely begun to walk back to my car, which was a fairly good hike away. I stayed naked because it seemed the thing to do: and it was. Obviously it must have stopped and I must have gotten dressed at some point ... But what I remember is that for a while, I was in heaven.

I did last week, at an outside spa. It was one of the things I absolutely wanted to experience in my life, but every time I've been to a resort, it's been bone dry.

At the spa, there was a slight drizzle, more like mist than rain, but the feeling was incredibly nice. I was sitting in water at 103F and being cooled at the same time. It may have been 12C outside (roughly 67F), but I felt warm and comfortable. My breathing was clear and I could smell the wet earth. Everything was enhanced.

Now, I want a warm rain at a resort :)

Yes and I Loved every moment, especially big warm raindrops falling in a pool, the ocean, anywhere. It doesn't matter how cool the temps are. It's especially beautiful to see a rainbow. I saw a double-rainbow once and with it huge rays of sunlight shining down from the skies.. it was surreal..

I'd say the best times being nude in the rain was in the most fiercest windiest weather years back at one nudist club with friends. It was just one of those days where we decided to do something out-of-the-ordinary. We swam in the pool, cartwheeled on the lawn, and even tried playing tennis in the rain, but that didn't work out too well.. We did play croquet in the rain though.

I have been nude in the rain twice. The first time was last year late spring at Hanlan's Beach in Toronto. It was a quick 4 minute heavy rain.

The second time was at Orient Beach this past winter. Tropical rain falls are normally really short during the winter month. It was strange that about half the beach emptied for a short time. Within ten minutes the sun was out. It took quite a while for the towel on the chair to dry. I just kept on taking walks on the beach and also going for quick swims in the ocean. I must admit it is more enjoyable when the temperature is warmer.

Obviously a joke, but up north, even at the end of a warm summer when the water is quite warm, the rain can be quite chilly. Going into the lake or pool will keep you comfortable. - but don't even consider it if there is thunder!

I kind of doubt if the Jamaican rain was too chilly ...

Probably a good idea. My wife tells that as a child she and her sister would swim when it was raining since it was warmer than sitting in the rain.

One time when we were sunning all over on a beach in France we spotted one big black cloud approaching. Sure enough it passed overhead and started raining. Lots of people started desparately getting dressed and rushing off. But it was a single cloud and moving well. So we stuck it out and 10 minutes later were drying off in glorious sunshine.

Well, here it is, my day off and it's raining. I do have to take the garbage out to the road. The only problem with that is, the traffic travels about 40+. With the noise of the rain falling I can't really hear the cars coming to avoid being seen. I'll just have to take my chances. I'll soon put out the "nudist home" sign by the front door, and kick back for the day. So much work to do, but it's going to have to wait till the rain stops. It's to d**n cold here, to enjoy being out in the rain. I'm not off topic here, I am going for a walk (or run) in the rain to the end of the driveway at least. I'm sure I won't enjoy it.

It was a cloudy but warm and close day so I was naked for about 4 hours and 12 miles or so :) There was a little drizzle as I say, but sadly the only shower of 'proper' rain coincided with an on-road section of the walk where I put on trousers to avoid... distracting... passing motorists. Just this morning, in fact...

I went camping with a group of people from the Heartland Naturists last night. The forecast called for storms this morning. Thunder woke me around 6:00 and I grabbed my cell phone. I checked the radar and saw a huge mass of rain coming in.

I had a choice: Either sit tight and wait (maybe several hours) for the rain to pass, or break camp and head for home.

Since I have a one person tent made for carrying on long hikes, I didn't like the prospect of maybe lying in it (too small for sitting up in) for a few hours with lighting, high wind, and hail going on. I made the choice to try to beat the rain.

If you refer to my first sentence, you'll know that I didn't beat the rain. I wound up doing some of the packing with a steady rain coming down. Thankfully, there wasn't any lightning with it. It wasn't as cold as I thought it would be. The air temp was 63F and it was breezy, but I wasn't cold. Maybe the activity of packing kept me warm, or maybe my body could deal with the rain naturally, which kept me warmer than having wet clothes sticking to me. I don't know the answer to that...

I did find that I had made the wrong decision, though. About 45 minutes after the rain began, it tapered off and stopped. A few minutes later, blue sky began breaking through. Another look at the radar revealed that the storm dissipated and what was left passed over. No more than an hour later, the temperature was in the mid-70's and sunny. I guess I'll have an even harder time deciding what to do the next time I'm in that situation...

But, I did enjoy being out in the rain.

Stay nude.

Its really a nice experience to walk nude in the rain. The only time its not so enjoyable is if its a cold day.Walking naked in a summer shower is refreshing. Its happened when ive been at my club a few times. Its also nice to be in hot outdoor pool/or jacuzzi with rain falling down.

Hello papanudist. Well, I can't say I have ever walked nude in the rain. If I ever did in my lifetime, I was too young to remember it! However, I used to live in the state of Florida from 1969 to '71 when I was a little kid. As you may know, they have very hot and humid conditions during the summer months. With that, they have very brief and torrential cloudbursts quite often during this season. I can imagine it would have felt great to be able to walk in the nude in that situation because chances are you wouldn't have to worry about catching pneumonia! Some of the things I have missed out on in my life! Rats!

Ken Palmer

I was able to walk at Whitethorne. It was a wonderful experience. It is a wonder why people ever started wearing clothes.

We have been in a cool and damp weather pattern lately, and rain has been virtually a daily event for a couple of weeks. However I was able to get out last Friday (12 June) for few hours, after it had warmed up enough for a little nude time. While I was enjoying the scattered sun, a cloud came up and it showered for about 20 odd minutes and stayed warm, in the mid-70's. The shower passed and I air-dried before I had to leave. All in all a great way to spend the afternoon. What a great feeling.

Last summer, I woke one morning at 4 a.m. to a light rain. I could not sleep so I got up and decided to go running. I ran clothed until I got to the wooded lake about a mile from my house. Once I got past the parking lot and into the woods, I stripped off. I ran the entire 4 mile trail nude in the rain. It gave me quite a charge.

I have done this on numerous occasions. When I used to live out in the country, I did it all the time. I miss not being able to do this anymore - I live in the city now.

More recently, while at my cabin I had the opportunity to enjoy doing so during a light, steady rain. I both went for a hike and then stood on my dock while the rain fell. It's one of the greatest things one can experience sans clothing.

We had one of those rare summer rains here in Texas, it was a warm rain and felt like standing in a shower with mildly warm water. Too bad it only lasted 5 minutes.

Yes I have been naked in the rain more several times. Where I live now it is impossible because of neighbors but where I used to live we had a more private back yard and sometimes at night I would just go outside for a while naked sometimes in the rain.

Does mowing nude in the rain count? Yesterday, with about 1/2 an acre left a nice gentle rain started. As long as it was just a gentle shower I kept going and finished in about 15 minutes. I could see no reason to quit & come back later. Everything I was wearing was soaked:), and it felt wonderful!!!

When I was staying at Costa Natura in Spain I ran for about an hour each morning as the sun was coming up. The morning it rained was probably the greatest run I have ever had.

I experienced a somewhat light mist yesterday afternoon , laying nude on the chaise, watching the clouds pass by and hoping for another round of sun rays. needless to say, as it started to pelt, I needed to take shelter for about 5 minutes before I resumed my position.

I was at Haulover Beach on Sunday when a slight sprinkle starting coming down. It felt nice to be part of that without having to worry about finding cover due to my fear that my clothes would get wet. The sprinkles felt refreshing on my skin.

LoL Moontan that must have been a real interesting experience. Where were you camping? I actually had a pretty cool experience with that recently. Greg and I got a chance to do some work at Club Orient(Carribean) recently. At night we got some light and medium showers that hung out for a half hour or so each. The real cool thing was that the temperature was about 80degrees. We went n sat in the water on the shoerline for a while also. It was nice except our rum n cokes were getting watered down. hehehe

One of my favorites, though is being nude in the hot tub with the snow coming down. :snowman: This was one of my favorite all-time experiences. Nude in the hot tub, snow flakes piling up on our heads, a cigar, bubble jets churning the water, and the ice cold blast on the scoot from the tub to the house. Yep, that was a good time... :D

Back in the college years--you know, when the parents are gone for the weekend--I had a few "friends" over and everything was just as quoted above (except for the ice cold beer ). 20 degrees outside, snow falling, water splashing on the deck...now a sheet of ice on the deck. One of the girls had to use the facilities, she took one step on the deck & over backwards she fell back into the tub. After we figured out that she was alright we all had a good laugh including the tub diver:)

Back in 08, we were in Kona, HI at the Farmers Market. Well there you do have to be clothed, but wear accordingly for breeze :D Anyway, it begun to rain and I thought how neat it was that it was as warm and nice, but raining. Now everyone was running for cover, getting under plastic and or covering their skin with plastic..... my wife and I found out painfully why after we were told of the acid rain from the VOG (Volcanic Oxide Gas).

I was able to get to a shower and rinse off, but my wife has real fair skin and bares the markes from that day still.

Twice. Once years ago, during a warm summer rain. The other time was in August of this year. I was in a nude RV park, and it was raining when it was time to leave. I went out to do all the chores of disconnecting, and it felt great. I took lots of extra time, and just walked around. Just a quick toweling off, and I was ready to leave without dealing with any soggy rain gear.

In August I was hill walking in France in a forested area when it came on to rain heavily, while remaining very warm. As I did not want to get back to town with shirt and shorts dripping wet (as well as the chafe problem of wet clothing) I just took everything off and put them in my backpack. By the time I was approaching town again the rain had stopped and I was dry so clothes on. Great walk.

Was ok untlil the heavy rain developed into a thunder storm, at which rapid exit back to the villa was in order.
