Best nude beaches in the UK?

Anyone who's a regular of nude beaches in the UK, can you please let us know your recommendations.

The only nude beach in the UK I have visited(albeit I was there for all of 10 mins at the most) was the nude beach in Brighton. Absolutely disgusting beach, and not a good advert for naturism atall. Won't be visiting there again.

We here in the UK are forecast a heatwave Summer for this year. And I hope to be able to visit a good nudist beach here.

Hi Naked in the Uk, I think it all depends on where your situated in the country and how far are your prepared to travel.

Considering we are an island the official nude beaches worth visiting are few and far between. However there are a few gems worth exploring, I am situated in the south East and the ones I have used in the past are the ones along the Devon & Cornwall coast a bit far from London but good for a Holiday or long weekend, Studland Bay in Dorset and my old favourite Fairlight Cove just outside of Hastings, Fairlight is a small cove situated at the base of the cliffs surronded by the shrubbery against the cliffs at least 200 plus people would visit at weekends, you could also walk along the coastline when the tide was out for about 1/2 hour each way, truly beautiful place and it was free. Sadly due to a rockslide a few years ago it has now become inaccessible, what the situation is today I don't know, hoping that maybe our naturist associations would work with the council to open up a path as this place was hugely popular by both sexes.

Due to the poor beaches along the East Sussex and Kent Coast I have had to go back to the club scene, thankfully there are quite a few good clubs in Sussex & Kent and they keep me happy during our summer.

Yes, thanks for that info everyone. I'll have to buy that Bare Britain book as I'm looking for more detailed info about the beaches in the UK.

True Brit, Devon isn't all that far from me. I'd be able to get down there and back in a day. I may well check out those beaches down that way.

That Studland Beach in Dorset sounds good too. The most popular nudist beach in the UK one of those websites mentions. Will definitely have to pay it a visit.

Just hope we get some decent warm weather soon!

I think Morfa Duffryn near Harlech might be within reasonable travelling distance for you. It's a fine beach and I understand that British Naturism are holding a beach fun day there on the 12th June. Well as it's held on a public beach which is, by definition, open to the public I guess people can wear as little or as much as they like.

Thanks for that recommendation Rik. I have heard good things about Morfa Duffryn beach. Though it's a bit too far to get there in a day and back, I'll visit there one day and stay for a long weekend maybe.

We went to Fairlight Glen last year and access down is not too bad at all, a little scrambley in places but perfectly safe - people have dug steps in the sandy cliffs so it's fine for all but the oldest or infirm. Try it again - still a gem of a place if the sun is out.

Yes the weather here in the UK is very changeable. On Friday it was gorgeous with temperatures of 27C where I live, perfect weather to be on a nude beach, but being a weekday I was at work. Then Saturday Sunday and Monday when I don't have to work and could get to visit a nude beach the weather is not that great atall. Typical.

Maybe next weekend will be better weather. Soon as we get decent warm temperatures on a weekend I'm heading to a nude beach! Will probably try Studland Beach in Dorset out first.

I'll certainly wanting to get naked in the UK this summer, as you can tell by my username!

Bad news for anyone enjoying the current warm temperatures here. It wont be like this at the weekend because the temperatures will turn much cooler! Typical yet again. I guess I will make it to a UK nude beach this Summer......eventually!

hiya, just a great time at spielplatz in saint albans. you should all check it out just half an hour or so away from london in the suburbs. with such good weather anyhow i got enthused to visit more beaches thus reading this post. thanks for all the advice and feel free to message me. i also noticed a few people from london?!!? where have you been? where do you hang out? i've been setting up this group for 18-30yo approx in london, just to get a little network going and already have about 60 members!!! who knew!!! please please come down and feel welcome. we have about 3 or 4 trips coming up and it would be great to see you. maybe have a non nude social!

Having just returned (yesterday) from a holiday in Cornwall, I can't recommend Vault Beach (just south of Gorran Haven nr St Austell) highly enough. The beach is owned by the national trust and has been an unofficial nudist beach for years. Both clothed and unclothed share the beach although the far end of the beach appears to be used by nudists only. A truly stunning wild beach with crystal clear waters and a very friendly atmosphere. My girlfriend and I spent two whole days there and there was a variety of ages and sexes using the beach. Truly stunning and we will be returning.
