Has anyone seen this Play in Boston called Penis Puppets? If so Please let me know what it is all about. In the ads on TV it shows two naked guys running around the stage holding their penises and the audience is lauging histarically(?).

My wife and I were surfing the TV in our hotel room one night when we came across a show that had the two performers you mention doing their act.

The act is simple. Two naked guys on stage take turns manipulating their genitals into various odd contortions to represent faces.

My reaction pretty much followed this sequence:

I can't believe I'm seeing this. . . .That must hurt. . . .Why would anyone get up in public and do this?. . . .Why would anyone pay to see this? . . . Why am I watching this? . . . Let's see what else is on.

My wife's reaction was less complimentary.

I read in our paper (when the show came to a nearby community) that the live audience includes a lot of women. Sort of a girls night out thing I guess.

Luvnaturism,
Thanks, I couldn't for the life of me figure out whast the hell they were doing on stage like that. In the promo's for it of course they don't show anything below the waist. Now I know why, it's a waste of time.

I saw them on an HBO show that I am not to proud of watching, however, sick as it was...and I do mean sick, it was the funniest contortionist act I have ever seen or likely will ever see again. All I can say for sure is the two guys are clearly exhibitionist's and must have too much time "in their hands." /infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Yep, the show is called "Puppetry of the Penis" and it originated in Australia.

There's a bit of a blokey tradition in Australia of young guys getting drunk and doing things like dressing up in drag - and folding their genitals to make shapes, sort of like shadow puppetry. Don't ask me why, I'm not into it myself. But two guys decided to make a show out of it, and the show has become internationally popular - so popular that they actually have trained other guys to perform it so that it can be running in several places at once.

I haven't seen the show 'cause it doesn't appeal to me. I understand it has no real plot and just involves the guys making various shapes with their genitals, much of which is projected on a large screen. As luvnaturism suggests, it's a big hit with girls on hens nights and similar. I doubt the show would have much appeal to most naturists. And I can assure you that not all Australians are into this sort of thing!
There is an official website at www.puppetryofthepenis.com (http://www.puppetryofthepenis.com)

Aussiebeachboy -

We were in Sydney just recently. What a great place. One of the world's beautiful cities, friendly to tourists, and all sorts of fun things to do. We loved it, and hope to return.

Has anyone determined if these guys are circumcised? /infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

P.S. Don't anyone dare call my sense of humor "cutting!" /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Hey FloridaDavid, I don't object to the show at all - it's just not the sort of thing that appeals to me.

I don't find nudity in itself particularly funny, and as I gather, a lot of the appeal of the show is to people who find it really hilarious that these guys are making shapes with their genitals. Each to their own - but, like you, I certainly wouldn't pay to see it. Just as I wouldn't pay to see a show of origami, or a show of people making hand puppets.

Aussie, good point. Well taken. I wouldn't spend my hard earned money on any of those either. Have a great day "downunder". /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hey Guys,

I checked out their link...and from what I saw, provided the price was right /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I probably would go and see it...life is to short to always be serious...and sometimes it is the small or unusual stuff that makes even nudity seem rather amusing /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Greensunshine /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Bet a lot of you guys would be willing to do what they are doing for money if the price was right too /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

"CRAP TV" sure is a good description. When I stopped watching TV about five years ago, the release from bondage was glorious!

I glad to hear that most people think running around making penis puppets sounds dumb. I sure agree...

I've worked in and go to theater for nine years. I've seen (and adorded) musicals, one acts, vaudville, 10 minute plays and yup plays with nakedness.

I have no interest in giving up my hard earned cash to see how guys play with themselves when drunk (I think getting drunk is stupid too but thats another story). I got no problem with nakedness if it makes sense. Hell I don't even mind if its funny but this just looks dumb to me!

What about when Doug left in a snit after his team wouldn't let him stain the hardwood floors?

Or when he made that woman cry when he painted her fireplace? She was so mad she had to leave!

I couldn't believe Lara did what she did to the brown room, it was pretty, but...if they HATE brown, they HATE brown!

Sometimes I think they purposely do whatever the owners say they don't like, especially Doug.

hw here. I am new here and have never seen penis puppets, but I did see a guy on The Learning Channel, or Discovery one time and his penis hung down to his shins!!!!! Actually I think it was mostly stretched foreskin, but he tied that thing in knots, bows; looked painful to me!

As for the rest of this thread...TRADING SPACES ROCKS! Did anyone see the one where one of the guys walked out to see Ty,(the carpenter), wearing only a toolbelt? The camera stayed right with him, Ty couldn't look at the guy at all and kept his head turned away the whole time.
I think that was one of my favorites.

reRUNS?!?! Is that sorta like the second round of the runs? You know, kinda like the dry heaves...

Anyway, hw, I did see the one with the nude guy. I thought it was Ty at first, too, but it was one of the homeowners. He had on a toolbelt with paint sample papers tuck in front of his you-know-what. Then, when he turned around, they fuzzed his butt. Too bad Ty's reaction was one of discomfort...I was kinda hoping some of the cast would have joined him...

Gamblefish.....yeah, I knew that was one of the homeowners with the toolbelt....hey is that why they call them TOOLbelts? You know, like the proximity of where they hang on a guy???? Just wondering.
Have a nice nude day.

I'm kind of surprised that the network even showed this segment, knowing the way nudists are portrayed on every other issues. It was an eye opener, which I enjoyed watching. I couldn't believe the homeowner walked around the corner with only his toolbelt on, and the camera continued to roll. I'm curious what the ratings were on this particular show. Hopefully there will be more nudist segments on others shows in the future. I saw several tools on the belt, but I did not notice a tape measure. /infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Yes, the show "puppetry of the Penis" is quite funny, I have mastered the "hamburger" (not for the less well-endowed!) and have the DVD of the whole act, although it has been to a very respectable theatre near me twice in the last 4 yrs.
The DVD is available from Amazon.com!!! and includes an illustrated booklet of some of the tricks!!
