I shave everyday but I don't shave my pubic hair.

My husband and I are 'as naturale as possible'...
To me NATURAL is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!
Personally I am a very plain-jane type and don't have x-tra time for too much complication/vanity! lol

I don't, and never have, shaved, trimmed, depilated or indulged in any form of pubic topiary.
Legs, yes. Armpits, yes. Pubic region, no.
You can buy bikinis now that consist of a top and little 'shorts', which mean that there's no need for creating a 'bikini line'. At a textile venue (beach or public pool) this would be my preferred costume. At a naturist venue, I'm currently in a minority, as most women appear to undergo some form of trim, at the very least.
However, what became fashionable about fifteen years ago (just when I became a naturist) is, I feel, slowly -very slowly- starting to slip out of fashion, and I suspect that in another five years time 'hairy' will be back in fashion.
I've no real 'evidence' to support this: I just feel that there are constant fashion swings, and depilation will fall from fashion, as will piercings and tattoos.
While it's easy to stop shaving and keep up with fashion, or remove piercings, it'll be harder for those people who have indulged in tattoos to appear fashionable. I suspect there'll be a rush to have tattoos surgically removed in ten years time.

'Great minds think alike', or was that 'Fools seldom differ' anyway I have to agree 110% with all the above, every fashion leaves behind its victims, even when fashions move on there will always be those who adopt a fashion and stick with it, but on the whole things do come around such that even the fashion victims are in vogue briefly once again, I just wish I'd kept my flairs!!

I was a competition swimmer in my youth and shaved bare from the neck down, still shave the pubes, I just like it bare down there.

Hi all. This is my first post at cff. I'm smooth all over too. I like the feeling. I get sugaring treatments - like waxing but more gentle - and I shave in between sessions as needed. I first started about six years ago - got my chest and back, plus the edges of my pubic hair. Since then I've kept going. At this point, I can't imagine going back. If I could afford to, I would get laser all over to make it permanent.

Me and my wife are shaving body hair.
Unshaved is too wild and less hygienic.

I think this thread is interesting because most people who shave and wax do so for the feeling and sensation while most of the people who don't, seem to think it's all about appearing a certain way to others.

Unshaved is too wild and less hygienic.
I doubt that, unless you are adverse to occasional bathing.
Pubic hair will hold onto some bodily oils and aromas - that is part of its intended function, but that is not equivalent to 'unhygienic'. Indeed the rashes, razor bumps and other common infections that result from shaving may well be far more a hygiene problem.
Pubic hair that is exposed to sun, air and water will not become fetid and gross as it does when trapped in tight clothing for days on end. So perhaps being shaved smooth is only a hygienic plus for textiles.

Hi, Mark, I said only LESS hygienic, not UNhygienic,
but of cause it depends... and it only IMHO. ;)

This has often been quoted as the function of pubic hair alongside its decorative function. Pheromones (sex hormones) are secreted and reside in said hair. What I often think is how often does one go around sniffing the pubic region of a lady to experience this :-) I can understand armpit hair.

I can barely tolerate shaving my face and getting the occasional haircut. Hell no, I don't shave or trim my body hair.
And does anyone else find it odd that so many people on this board devote so much energy to modifying their appearance when they're so quick to criticize "textiles" for hiding behind clothing?

Well, I think it's a matter of personal choice. We shouldn't criticize other nudists for their grooming choices, whether they shave or not :)
I thought about being shaved for a long time before I finally got everything removed. I'm really glad I did - and wish I'd done it sooner. I can't imagine going back. In fact, if my budget ever allows it, I'll explore permanent methods like laser. ;)

I don't buy the "shaving is more hygienic" argument either. After recently hacking my leg open in a mountain biking accident, the doctor stitching me up made no mention that my leg hair could potentially cause problems with the very deep cut. If hair is fine around broken skin, I can't see how it could be "less hygienic" on healthy skin.
That said, I am a frequent shaver because I like the look and feel.

I like to myself shaved on occasions depending on my mood. I usually keep it short & well trimmed but sometimes the hassle of doing the perfect trim is just too tiring...so its when these times arise I feel that its easier to shave it off completely.

I think the bottom line is it's a matter persoanl of choice. I have gone both ways, I like the look and feel of everything shaved I just don't have the time and energy to keep it that way all the time. So, I tend to go back and forth.
I don't think there is a hygine or health issue either way. If your careful with the shaving you should have no problems with cuts or ingrown hairs but I know sometimes it happens.
Some day I'll have the time to keep it shaved, by then may it will all fall out anyway.
Just my thoughts,
Michael

I prefer to be totally smooth. But I also appreciate variety!
I was chatting with a friend. She's been shaved for 15 years. I convinced her she should grow back her pubic hair, just for a retro experience. So she's stopped shaving as of this week, and is going to go for a full, untrimmed bush. Cool, don't you think? She can always start shaving again when she wants, of course!

I don't think so. I don't criticize textiles for hiding behind clothing. I criticize them for not letting me be comfortable myself. Far as I'm concerned they can wear a burka if they want to but if I want to go further down the beach and get naked or get naked in the back yard, where's the problem? Clothed or naked people all put effort into modifying their appearances. We shave, we do things with our hair, some wear jewelry, I have a tattoo and want to get more.

I've been shaving daily since July 13, 1980. There had been occasions before that such as frat hazing, dares, etc but shaving is a part of myself now for many years. I like the look and the feeling of being smooth as do my friends, familiy and partners.
The guys at the gym are used to seeing me shave in the shower or at the sink every morning and over time some of them have started shaving themselves. I had started sooner but while appearing nude in a play, the director insisted that I stop and let my pubes grow. He said it didn't fit the part I was playing and when faced with the choice of working or not I let my pubes grow. I shaved in the dressing room after the final curtain on that July 13th.
Normally I "tidy up" downstairs without shaving completely, but on a recent holiday I shaved off the hair on my stomach area in order to let it tan properly. Strangely though I left the hair on my chest. I can't really think why, but it seemed a good idea at the time (and my tummy was a nice even brown!)

I have an abundance of body hair which I regularly have to shave. Love the look and feel of a smooth body and will keep shaving. Unfortunately the only place I don't need to shave is my head as that is thinning on its own :(

As you can see by my user name and avatar I am a smoothie. My wife and I started shaving about 25 years ago. It was not to common then as it is now. I have forgotten what it was like to have body hair. We have planed to stay this way, we love it!

I was shaving my shaft and scrotum for a long while but quit and let it go natural again. It wasn't really much trouble to maintain it but now that it has grown out again, I'm not sure I want to bother. It was for my own vanity anyway as no one really noticed or cared whether I shaved so I guess I'm going to stay natural.

I found a place that does pubic waxing and it works great! Very smooth with no bumps and hair doesn't start showing for about two weeks.

My wife & I did that for awhile, but going every 3-4 weeks started to get costly. So now we are getting zapped. (lasred) Its more upfront money, but looking long term it really is better. Both of us have left some hair up top, but its easy to shave that off if we want to.
If waxing is something you are going to do long term, you might want to look at getting lasered at a respectible place.

Last year I kept the pubes cut close and trimmed into a few different shapes. This summer I let it all grow wild. Never a trim all summer, not sure why. A few weeks ago, I finally trimmed up and sized down a lot. Now I'm back down to hairfree scrotum and a small Hexagon shape raised above my penis. I like the short shapes far better than the bush, especially wearing the speedo as much as I have to around family.:(

The first episode of the new season of Always Sunny in Philadelphia had a reference to lasering the groin area... In discussing giving someone a "Gorilla Mask" (sticking pubic hair to someone's face), Dennis asks Mac where they were going to get enough hair as they weren't going to get any from him. When questioned why, he then admits he was "smooth as a turtle." It was a funny scene. Funnier yet in a later scene when they wake up to find that they had pulled their respective pranks on each other (Mac gave Dennis a Gorilla Mask). Love that show!

I usually keep my shaft and scrotum shaved and trim my pubic hair real close. I started trimming my pubic hair because it was so coarse and it was sticking through my bike shorts and was quite embarrasing! I like the short look because it looks more natural on me since I am so hairy, I shaved it completly smooth a few months back and it looked "strange", kind of like one of those strip mining hillsides you see in West VA. I like the short look and I think I will keep it that way.

Have been shaving chin to toe for years. Even spent two summers shaving top of head to toe. I enjoy the feel of being a nudest nudist. I do not even get a second look in the locker room when changing clothes @ the gym. Used to be shy about it then I decided it was my business and the only person from whom a complaint would be listened to was my wife and she had no complaints. Fortunately, I can get away with 3 or 4 times a week to keep that smooth look.

When I bought a Norelco electric shaver for my face, I soon found out it is great for my chest and abdomen. Use it every day and it keeps it under control. After trimming the pubes, the Norelco is good for keeping the bush line as low as you like.
Keeping a very short buzz each week rather than shaving my head and trimming the pits once a week seems to round out the shaving.
Still tweez the shaft and scro rather than shaving. Although it is a bit of a job, great when done!

I shave my armpits, face, scrotum and head, I trim my pubes. However I like my hairy chest, so that says put - although I have shaved it once or twice in the past it was too uncomfortable as the hairs grew back so I probably wouldn't do it again although I do occasionally trim it back in the summer as I have a very fuzzy chest.:D

Except for a short time when I lived in Seattle, I have been shaved from neck to upper thighs for about 10 years now. My body hair has the appearance of a wet dog and I find the smooth look a little more flattering.
I prefer the shave cream and razor, but I do have a Bodygroom for more difficult to reach places.

I used to shave chest, stomach, pubic hair, shaft and balls. I am now back to the natural look and do not shave body any longer. I just find the natural look better on me. To be honest, I would like to see natural look come back.

Well? Who shaves, or rather removes their pubes otherwise? I know quite a few nudists do, but it seems I'm one of the few teens who do.
Mike
Due to a recent outpatient minor surgical procedure I was shaved from the waist down to my mid thighs. Because I am fairly hairy all over, I couldn't wait for the thigh hairs to grow back, in order to match the rest of my body.
To begin with, it would require way too much time and effort to keep everything totally smooth. But I have always felt that a moderate amount of body hair on a man is generally more natural and attractive than being totally "smooth". On the other hand, after some experimentation, I now prefer keeping my penis, scrotum and pubic hair much more closely trimmed than I used to.

In the past I'd tried shaving a little - just around the base of my shaft, and my balls too - but last night I decided to go all the way and shaved myself totally smooth! It isn't itching, yet, and looks a bit weird but it does feel kind of nice. I'm fairly hairy all over so it's a bit strange to have a bald patch - but I'm already a man with long hair so I'm strange enough anyway. I'll see how I like it as to keeping it maintained.
