i had a wonderful experience this afternoon, i drove about 100 miles nude. the only thing that made me a little nervous was the multi-lane inter-city interstate. i just kept in the outside lane as much as possible, watched for semi- trucks, there are a lot of those, and covered up when i couldn't avoid a problem. loved every minuet of it. looking forward to the next time.

I have driven nude in the daytime in a motorhome and in a raised up 4x4 with no problems. Traffic laws must be obeyed whether you are nude or not, so it shouldn't be a problem.

My better half and I went up to Lynx Lake in Prescott AZ from Phx to try our hand at kayaking this last weekend. We decided to get naked and take the 110+ mile back-way home on state route 89. It was single lane almost all the way and no traffic, very relaxing.

Apparently in addition to DWI, there is also a DWN - Driving While Naked. Last night's Jay Leno show (6/29) had clips from police stops. Although it didn't show the driver driving before the stop, the clip started with the officer approaching the truck and telling the driver to "step out of the truck,please". When he did and the officer observed that he was naked, he told him "step back into the truck, please". I suspect that in addition to DWN, the guy was also DWI because he didn't step back into the truck, but walked around the back of the truck to go to the other door and get his clothes, he said. So, I suspect that guy was pulled over for a DWI; then the officer saw he was DWN; at least he was a white guy so he couldn't get pulled over - as my friend did - for DWB.

I've driven partially nude many times... often with pants or shorts down around my shins, but in way that it doesn't cause any trouble with the gas peddle or brakes. This way, I could get clothed real quick if I happened to be pulled over.

I cover in one way or another if a semi truck drives by. In Florida, it wasn't an issue since my side windows were tinted so dark!

I agree with Samantha above - it does make long trips more comfy!

It is more comfortable when driving. the only thing that is not comfortable is the feeling you're going to get pulled over. I have made the drive from Oklahoma City to Memphis, TN and back several times, over half the time I was nude driving. I was so paranoide <sp error> that I turned on my cruise to avoid going to fast, covered my self if a trucker drove by, and constantly looked around to make sure no one was following me. Nevertheless, I was physically comfortable.

Absolutely my thoughts, too. I wish the interior of a vehicle was considered private, not public. My only real reservation keeping me from driving nude is often the concern of being stopped. It is definitely the most comfortable way to do almost anything. It seems to be safest to limit nude driving to the night hours, or only on uncrowded freeways where the truckers aren't looking over your shoulder.

I've driven nude from Houston to Tulsa and then back again ..... in a convertible, w/ the top down... If you ever are in a sedan or SUV, just take a look at other cars - it is very difficult to see what the other people are wearing unless they are next to you for several moments. Just speed up when you are passing or slow down if someone is passing you. Passengers could have more time to look at you to see what you are wearing - so once again, speed up or slow down. They won't be able to see you even in a convertible...

A recent Jay Leno show portrayed ,on film, a policeman pulling over a small truck.
The policeman ordered the driver out of the truck and the man was nude (with blurring).
The policeman had the man walk around to the back of the truck, then to the passenger side door on the other side of the truck, to apparently retrieve his clothes.

I will watch my speed limit,and for police in general, whenever I get the rare opportunity to drive nude.

With the number of shooting of law enforcement personal, police are trained to be very observant when a driver is pulled over. Any movement towards a glove box, reaching down towards the floor board, under the seat, or unusual movements are considered a threat and the police will pull a weapon for protection.

One should not reach down or across the seat to retrieve or to pull up shorts, pants or whatever during a stop.

Why not wear a thong, jock strap or have shorts at knee level if you want the naked feeling, then you have a chance to quickly pull them in place while your slowing down or pulling over during a traffic stop. Even if truckers, persons on a buss or high vehicle call or complain; you’re not completely naked if you’re directed to get out of the vehicle with your hands up as a result of a pull over.

It better to be prepared and know the laws of the states you drive in. In some states pulling over to the side of the road even behind a open door to urinate can get you cited for being exposed in public and serious charges or even sexual charges unless you prove in court otherwise. Someone or even a child could say you were masturbating just to get you in trouble, and if naked when pulled over, you would have a lot of explaining to do, and probably still get written up as reported, and a costly legal battle to prove otherwise.

Valid Point. My thoughts are that when pulled over, a policeman usually stays inside his vehicle while he calls in the license plate. That gives you plenty of time - even in an open convertible. If they've been following you for a while (calling in your plate prior to pulling you over), you may get a quicker visit to your door. I find that I can usually pull on shorts while driving - especially if I have to take my foot off the accelerator and slow down anyway...

My thoughts exactly. For someone, like me, that does drive nude quite often and constantly pulls the shorts on and off all the time, it's really not a big deal to pull them on before they get to the window.

If they should catch you a "bit" out of dress, just tell them you were trying to get your wallet out of your shorts in a hurry and ended up pulling your shorts down in the process. I am certain they really don't care about or will make a big deal about it as much as some make it out to be.

Some months ago I also did it, a trip of about 160km. I dropped my wife off in another town as she had to help out at a family wedding. i could not stay over because of work.

As I left the city I thought to myself what an excellant opprtunity it would be for me to be naked. It was after dark and just outside of town i pulled over on the highway. I used the car as shield and got out of my clothes. It was so exhillerating to be nude in public on a public road. About halfway i pulled off on a quiet part of the highway and parked. I got out and strolled right into the middle of the flyover. Here I watched the cars pass underneath me for about half an hour. Then I got back in and drove home. Going home I thought where I would stop and get clothed again. The more I thought about it the more obvious it became. I drove home without stopping. I stopped in front of the gate, got out naked with scant regard of anyone seeing me, opened the gate and parked.

I walked around naked in our garden for a while for the experience to sink in, it felt very unrealistic. It was great being naked and free.

My first public nude experience and it was glorious.

A while back there was a post about how far you have driven while nude.
I posted on that one also. But the longest I have ever driven nude was from Okla. City to Colorado Springs, 625 miles one way. The main things you need to do is stay in the right at all times. When that isn't possible have a pair of tan shorts in the seat & just cover your lap & always obey traffic laws so you are safe from being stopped. Pahjo

I drive nude all the time, usually at night but sometimes during the day. I actually prefer the freeway because you can control whether or not a car is next to you, whereas on surface streets you often have to stop at lights, most of which are lit, and there's always a chance that somebody who pulls up next to you is going to have high enough seats to see into your lap.

My only concern about driving nude on freeways is semi-drivers and buses. If I'm passing a semi I speed up so I'm only in their field of view for a second or less (yes, generally that means I'm speeding by at least 10 mph), then slow down once I'm past. If it's a bus, I'll cover myself with my shorts that I'm always sure to have when driving nude.

They are in their own private zone and really are not paying attention to much of what is going on around them. I do keep a cover up close by, but I find that I don't need it as much as you may think. As long as you stay away from driving directly beside someone you should be ok. Now I do drive a big pickup truck so it is harder for folks to see inside my truck than it is to see inside a smaller car but I still be as careful as I can be but the feeling of freedom is great!

I got pulled over once while nude. As a passenger, it was easier to get ahold of my shorts and pull them on real quick before the officer would've been able to see anything, but I also didn't have my shorts in a very handy place and it took me a minute to find them. If I was driving, I would've done exactly the same thing.

This is why it's important to have shorts while driving nude. You can pull them on quickly, and the cop won't be sure if he actually saw you nude before then (if he even thought you were), and therefore will assume that you were actually wearing the shorts.

Oh, and I wasn't pulled over for being nude. I was pulled over for expired registration, which I hadn't even realized was the case at the time (2 years ago). I pay more attention to that stuff now... lol

I come to a complete stop at stop signs and obey the posted speed limits turn signals all that. If that is true in my case I imagine it must be true in others too. When I was considering becoming a long-haul trucker, that was actually one of the reasons I thought I would like it! Turns out that I don't trust myself with so much weight behind me. Too much momentum if you have to make a quick stop... Still, it would be AWESOME to not have to worry about being seen at all! Needless to say, I envy you for that particular freedom.

I drive nude all the time. If I am driving alone and going more then 5 miles I will be nude. As long as you are careful and aware of what is around you there should be no problem. I do keep a pair of shorts handy to put over me if there is a bus or large vehicle on my right side when I am in traffic.
Over the last 30+ years of driving nude there have been two incidences when I have been pulled over by law enforcement. Both times I was able to get my shorts on before the officers came over to the car. Just make sure the shorts are loose enough that you can get them on with very little movement.
I find driving nude much more comfortable then driving clothed, especially on longer drives. The times when I have someone else in the car and have to be clothed, I find I constantly have to move around and pull at my clothes in order to get more comfortable. All my friends and family know I am a nudist but none of them will allow me to be nude when they are around.

One time when I was driving nude, I was pulled over by the police and I had to slip on my shorts real quick without making a lot of motion in the car to raise suspicion of the officer. I always drive very carefully so that I do not cause an infraction and get pulled over so I was not really sure why I was being pulled over. I was sure that someone called the police and I was going to get arrested for driving nude...imagine my relief when the officer told me he pulled me over for not wearing a seatbelt! (Yeah right officer, that was not the only thing I was not wearing!) I got a $25 ticket and was sent on my way with a warning to put on my seatbelt and drive carefully. So now if I am driving nude I make sure that I at least I'm wearing my seat belt.

When my wife and I were just dating, I would strip in my car just before I left her apartment parking lot to go home. It was about a 30 minute drive home over country back roads. I had a 1986 Chevy Cavalier convertible (loved that car) and it was great to drive home in the Summer with the top down and nude. I did it at least a dozen times. But one night as I was about to strip down, something didn't feel right. I guess intuition, but who knows.

I didn't strip down and just headed toward home. I was very glad that I didn't strip. The road I took went down a steep hill and then around a blind curve before crossing part of a lake. The last place to turn into a driveway or a road is at the top of the hill. I came around the blind curve at the bottom to see at least six State Trooper cars with their lights going. It was a DUI roadblock and they were less than 50 yards from me. One of the troopers was standing next to the road about 25 yards up from the curve and had his flashlight on me as soon as I came around the bend. It scared the daylights out of me, to say the least. I slowed at the officer on foot and he flashed his light at me and told me to keep driving and stop at the patrol cars. In another few seconds, I was stopped with a Trooper on each side of my car. The one on the passenger side shined his light around inside my car while the other checked my license.

If I had been nude, there would have been zero chance of putting on shorts. If I had just draped them over my lap, they would have instantly known that I was driving nude. I don't know what a group of Troopers would have done with a nude twenty-something guy, but I'm glad I never found out.

Needless to say, I didn't drive home nude from her apartment after that.

But, last Thanksgiving when I drove from Kansas City to Nashville, I stripped once it got dark and I was on the east side of St. Louis. I drove nude about 3.5 hours and got dressed again just north of Nashville (didn't want to risk a local roadblock at Thanksgiving once I got onto the back roads again).

I have been driving nude for most of the years I've been driving. Not all of the time, but now and again. I was stopped in traffic north of Austin when a freak storm knocked down the powerlines crossing the interstate. i was in the right lane and comfortable that the door shielded my lack of attire. I carried on an extended conversation with the lady in the car next to me. The conversation would have been the same if I had been wearing pants.

Once, I was driving home from a remote section of beach and passed through a crowd. A girl tried to stop me for a ride and was visibly angry that I didn't stop. She being a teenager and me being a nude, middle aged male, it just didn't seem like a good idea.

FYI: I have driven many miles nude, but never naked or bare. I always wear my seatbelt and always carry insurance. Well, on the beach I might even forgo the seatbelt.

Especially when wearing thong footwear ("flip-flops"). The way I see it, with how they get caught on the floorboards on occasion, going barefoot is actually much safer than keeping them on.

Have driven home from Wilmington, NC visiting my mother back to Richmnod, Va nude. After I leave my mother's house I get gas for the car and then find a parking lot to undress. The 270 mile drive back is great! Sometimes truck drivers will see me in my pick up and will honk or wave. People in regular cars cannot see lower than the edge of the window opening and as someone stated one needs to pay attention to the speed limit and obey the laws. That way there are no issies with the law stopping you. They do not do road block checks on the super hiways so that is not an issue.

I need to make myself perfectly clear...I am not advocating breaking the law......I push the law...let me explain.

Like my home, I have done things to provide myself with privacy within my vehicle. First...it's high profile...not modified or customized like the 4x4's you see that never see any dirt time....but it's as high as a stock 4x4 truck...maybe a little higher because of the suspension it came with.

Next...I have dark tinted windows with the exception of the front windshield. Next...I don't cruise right next to vehicles that are higher than I am. It doesn't take much to speed up 5mph or slow down 5 mph to stay at a safe distance so you aren't seen. And...lastly, I keep a pair of shorts next to me.

Pushing the law; I've asked several officers with 3 different law enforcement departments.....CHP (CA Highway Patrol) County Sheriff and local city police. Everyone of the officers said, but not verbatim, that..."they have more important things to do than to chase down someone driving naked....unless they were being lewd or "intentionally exposing themselves." How I feel I push the law is that.....when I approach a situation where my lap may be seen....I cover with the shorts. I don't slip them on and then pull them off because it can be more trouble than is necessary. I'm not exposing my genitalia to anyone.

If someone can see that I have my shorts sitting on top of my lap BUT can still see that I don't have them on and can see my bare thigh and hip....I am NOT being lewd, I'm not exposing myself anymore than I would be if I were wearing a speedo or a thong and "that" is not considered "nude." BTW....they wouldn't be able to see this because I have a fold down console that becomes the third seat in the front seat and it blocks this area from site.

Larger trucks (semi's), higher profile vehicles and motorhomes are able to see but....as I said...I avoid situations where they can see into the cab of my truck for longer than a second or two. I do this all the time, when in situations where I might be seen, and I challenge anyone that sees me to dispute that they actually saw my genitalia.

I started doing this long ago after we left the beach. We showered and got back to the truck, she slipped on a shirt and I had a towel wrapped around me to dry off and slip my walking shorts off. No one around....so I threw the towel in the back seat and we drove home like that....it was later in the day and beginning to get dark. As time passed...I became more and more comfortable with driving nude during the day and find myself using the above techinques, when driving, even when I'm dressed.
