we are vacationing for a week in puerta plata dominican republic. we are staying at a riu. we want to spend a day at eden bay, but do not have transportation. does anyone have any idea?

You can certainly arrange for a taxi to get to Eden Bay and there will be no problem getting a taxi back from Eden Bay - may be costly but probably cheaper than renting a car for the day.

Why not extend your trip and stay a few days at Eden Bay?
