I'm over near Tampa. I've been to the Cove once and would like to go again sometime. Have you been to Playalinda or Apollo Beach yet?

Btw I am starting a small group/club for backyard cookouts & other get togethers here in FL:

Haven't been to either yet.
It is a unique challenge meeting local nudists around here. I have been finding that. Forget anyone in their twenties male or female. But I would lvoe to meet more people that is for sure.

Hi O-towner. I dont think its as hard as you say it is. One has to take action to get action sometimes. Check out aanr.com and naturistsociety.com if its naturism you are into but aanr is clubs and resorts and the lifestyle in general. Join! Get involved. There are beach groups with TNS too on both coasts. Check things out and take out membership. It will all happen.

Hi OrlandoNudist,

My home! I was born and raised there, living in Cali now for school. So... I think Danee is right, it's not quite as hard as it seems to find people who are up for trying nudism. You just can't expect to find one randomly, you have to be a little proactive.

If you are in your 20's, then work on meeting new friends as usual....new town, new friends, new places, etc. There are many ways of meeting people I guess...and your best chance isn't to hunt for a nudist, it is to seek somebody you have other things in common with....so Orlando has some kind of sub-culture spots. Check out the art theater Enzian, look up Aguile Rock climbing center, The Cantina downtown gets busy, or take a karate class, learn to surf, etc. (MySpace.com is popular, you can put "nudist" in your profile" So...whatever you're into....do it, and you'll meet like-minded people.

The trick is to not HIDE nudism....you don't have to make it a big deal, in fact it's just more effective to have it be "just something you do". Most people will just smile and make a joke or describe their opinion of old naked men. But there will be a few who ask questions and are curious. You can say "you never tried anything like that?" and you'll probably get a story of skinny dipping or streaking. So share stories and move on....don't invite them yet. With time it will probably come up again, and you'll have a feel for if they are down for joining you on your naked quests. Whatever you do, never "bug" anybody about joining you....it's not something you'll have to sell, it should sell itself to those who are genuinely interested.

If you meet a girl you want to date....make sure she knows early in the relationship, like, within the first few dates. If you meet a new guy buddy, definately don't come on strong....many guys would get homophobic about that.

Most of my nudist friends in FL were not nudists before they met me. The best combo I found was the female buddy....like, somebody you are NOT dating, but that you hang out with for fun. That way there is no sexual tension, you trust eachother, you don't care what eachother looks like naked, and you can visit resorts and not attract too much alternative contingency while spending a day at the local beach.

I found FL to be a great place to meet young nudists. I hope with a little time you'll see what I mean. Happy Hunting http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ...and, enjoy Orlando!!

Sam

A challenge meeting local nudists around (Orlando). One of the biggest nudist resorts in the country is there in the form of Cypress Cove. Less than 90 minutes away, you have two of the biggest resorts, in Paradise Lakes and Caliente. And a third older one that is more modest = Lake Como Club.

Yet you can't find any nudists.

But you also haven't been to the local place where the nudists go.

Sheesh.

CC, PL and Caliente are not very easy to get into as a single male. It's easier to find a female to go with.

Lake Como seems more single-friendly. Lake Como has "singles weekend" September 9-11, and Cypress Cove has theirs December 2-4. I don't think Paradise Lakes or Caliente even has those. Singles weekends have been described as sausage festivals, although there is no sausage served...perplexing.

Your best bet is to find or make a nudist friend and go on your own schedule.

Uh, I have lots of single friends who go to Cypress Cove.

A lot of folks from my neck of the woods enjoy Florida vacations there.

Singles are welcome there, I am told, as long as they are carrying a membership in a national nudist organization such as AANR, TNS, FCN, British Naturism, etc.

Paradise Lakes, I don't know.

Caliente - I believe anyone with a major association card can get in if they present themselves as potential members and agree to tour the grounds.

Lurk,

Been to Cypress Cove dozen times or so since I got down here. I was the youngest person there every time and I was there on average 6 hours each day. I can afford the gas or the time to go over to tampa.

And as you said lots of friends enjoy vacations there. Most of the locals it seems don't goto Cypress cove. It is more people with RV's and families. It isn't very friendly resort wise for single males because there is hardly anyone to interact with in our late 20's to early 30's. So guys don't go and Girls feel nervous rather a double edge sword in my experiance. Yeah a lot of clubs let in singles but it has only been recently that a lot of clubs even allowed it. It was allowed but frowned upon. Most people who visit the cove anyway are at the most late 30's to their 60's on their own or with young kids. Kind of a black hole of nudists from 16-36 they aren't open usually to meeting others.
