Hi, my name is Stephanie and im in a college english class. I have chosen nudism in america as my topic. I believe nudism to be a positive experiance which allows you to accept your body. I am looking for a few people willing to do a very small interview which can be done over email. If anyone is interested please reply. I havent been in the natrualist community so if you have any other information you think would be helpful i would really appreciate it.

Hi Stephanie,
I am not in America so I can't really help. I would suggest you attend a nude social event if you are willing and able. I am new to social nudism (about a year) and it has been a very good experience. I was a little surprised at how I reacted to the first nude event (in someone's home, very safe) and how I have developed since then.
Good luck and have fun!

Stephanie, you've come to a good place to find people to interview. You may find the following helpful also. Click on Link to Clothes Free International - "Why Nude Recreation?" (http://www.clothesfree.com/Why.html)
and Link to AANR - "Experience the enjoyment of being clothes-free and care free" (http://www.aanr.com/top_experience.html)
Oh, the correct word, or term, is naturist, not natrualist or naturalist http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

Just e-mail or PM me or post your questions here. I've been to non-landed events, to a club twice and to 2 or 3 nude beaches in other countries.

1) At what age did you realize you were a naturist? or your first social naturist experience?
2) What do you feel you have gained from becoming a naturist?
3) Is this a lifestyle shared within your household with wifes or friends?
4) What experience or advice would you offer someone who was interested in becoming a naturist?

That's funny because i just finished a speech on nudism. I had to write a 6 page paper and do some reasearch. We had to do surveys to hand out to the class to kind of show what direction we needed to take. I think my speech went pretty good, though not as good as i would of liked.
You can ask me some questions of you'd like.

1. I wasn't familiar with the term at the time. I prefer nudist it is more commonly known. I was about 12 when I started skinny dipping or jsut stripping off out in the woods near my parents farm. The first social experience wasn't until I was 23 at a beach.
2. A greater acceptance of myself and others for who they are. A greater awareness of my natural surroundings and a sense of being a part of nature.
3. Yes in fact my entire family to include my wife, kids, my brother and my sister. Mom and dad know but not nudists.
4. Go for it! It is a very accepting friendly group and it is very empowering to take this step and not feel ashamed or embarressed.

1) At what age did you realize you were a naturist? or your first social naturist experience?
My first social experience was with a non-landed group in NJ. We went to a member's house.
2) What do you feel you have gained from becoming a naturist?
Mainly comfort in my activities and being comfortable with the body that God gave me.
3) Is this a lifestyle shared within your household with wifes or friends?
No.
4) What experience or advice would you offer someone who was interested in becoming a naturist?
Do it wherever you can, if you don't like clothes. Push the envelope a little bit but respect the rights of others who may not want to see you, but don't act like you're ashamed of being seen when someone does see you. You should not be ashamed. Adam and Eve were ashamed of having sinned and being uncovered, to not be able to hide from God. They weren't ashamed of being naked. God never said so.

1. I was a nudist in my heart ever since I remember but pretty well kept in closet until about 7 years ago except for sleeping nude. My wife and I were first naked on a beach about 7 years ago and that brought me out of closet.
2. I have gained inner freedom and more awareness of my body. Also gained a lot of new friends.
3. My wife participates when we go to C/O beaches or nude resorts but she is not naked around the house and yard like I am. Our daughter knows and has been to a naturist resort and would join us if she didnt live so far away. Most of other relatives know and probably consider me some weird kook. I have told selected friends.
4. Come out of closet and try it - Dont wait over 60 years like me. If you dont care for it nothing is lost and if you are even considering it chances are you will love it.

1) I realized i was a naturist when one day i went to sleep without clothing, i was about 16 or 17 years old, i'm 22 now. I enjoyed the experience so much that i continued to do it and woke up early and threw on clothes before my mom would come and wake me up for school. Fast foward 5 yrs later, at 21 i had my own place and one day i woke up and decided not to get dressed and i've been loving it ever since. i haven't really haven't had the time to go to social environment, but i will soon some day.
2) A better body acceptance, and also at the same time more respect for my body. allow me to elborate. Since I am nude whenever possible, i've seen some things that i can improve, thus i started to take better care of myself and started to excersize more frequently and eat better.
3) I've recently introduced my girlfriend into the lifestyle... but she i reluctant to call her self a naturist/nudist and does not want to go out socially anytime soon. She does however enjoy being nude around the apartment and sleeping nude. i said relucantly b/c she doesn't "want" the title that goes with the lifestyle. So we're both closet nudists.
4) If the clothes don't fit... don't wear them. And if they do... don't wear them. lol. Getting rid of clothing gets rid of the social ties with economic class that affects a lot of students who aren't wearing the "right clothes". It helps us be more honest with ourselves and others.
hope this gets to you in time for it to be useful for your paper.

1) At what age did you realize you were a naturist? or your first social naturist experience?
When I was 2 years old I escaped the apartments I lived in and ran around naked in the parking lot, growing up I enjoyed being free from clothes...but it wasn't till I was 19 and tried a nude beach that I realized I was probably a nudist.
2) What do you feel you have gained from becoming a naturist?
A better more accurate perspective on life.
3) Is this a lifestyle shared within your household with wifes or friends?
my wife and some friends, my twin Fresh air is a nudist too.
4) What experience or advice would you offer someone who was interested in becoming a naturist?
First learn what it IS and what it is NOT. Don't wait too long to try it, if you are curious, just go try it.

1. My first social nudist experience was at age 6 with my neighborhood friends. This group continued until I moved to another town at age 10. After that the same with a constantly wider group of friends and new people until today.
2. I have attained friends, comfort, self assurance, a good tan, body acceptance, and peace and relaxation that can't be equaled in any other way.
3. It was when I had a partner. Now in my household it is but just by me and a few friends who don't mind but remain clothed. I have had many nudist friends over the years who have come to my home and we have enjoyed social nudism together.
4. Jump in with enthusiasm! If someone is interested in trying it out, they should just ask anyone they know who is a nudist/naturist about it. There are many internet sites that have abundant information about the subject. It is, I understand, difficult to get past the fear of exposure for those who haven't enjoyed social nudism before. (I don't know as I started, unofficially, so early) But it soon passes and the rewards of equality, acceptance, calmness, peace, relaxation and the physical feelings of wind, sun and water on bare skin are soon adictive. Once tried most people will agree with me that swimming nude is wonderful. I will not swim if I have to wear a costume that is uncomfortable at anytime and especially when wet and dragging the body and spirit down.
For young people, there is the added social benefit of removing the unknown and hidden excitement of the opposite sex's body. Clothing hides, but also accentuates the body in a sexual way. Nudity removes that factor and allows young people (and older too of course) to be used to bodies that otherwise might be an object of desire and curiosity. Nudity does not kill sexuality, but social nudity removes sexuality from being a consuming desire. Social nudity is not itself sexual therefore one can learn to be comfortable with different bodies and it removes a lot of the desire that comes from the constant sexualized society that we live in. It removes fear of the unknown. It allows a person to understand that a nude body does not mean sexual desire.
It allows a person to understand that all bodies are beautiful not just the ones that are forced on us as beautiful by society and advertizing. In exactly the same way, social nudism allows people to look past the body with it's imperfections, disabilities, or even perfecion to the person inside that body.
