Newsdude,
What dates are you planning for Angel Falls get-together? How about some directions too, please?

Having read "Nudes in the news" article just yesterday, are the Sheriffs beginning to patrol the area? I understand there was a complaint filed with the department, and they were following up on it. I also understand this was in the Bass Lake area. Is this going to affect the number of nudists in the area? I hope not, but after reading the article, I am in the understanding that the Sheriff's asked for everyone to put their clothes back on. But I also understand that the sheriff stated it would be alright if everyone would just move to higher ground. Hope this was just a one time incident and the complainer was just a tourist in the area. We can't afford to lose any more "secure" areas anymore. Please get back and let me know if the article was correct or not. Thanks

NudeM: We believe it was a one time
complaint. Corey Mangold of INA spoke with
the Madera County Sheriff's Dept.
As for the effect it's had on turnout, I'll
let Nudesdude or Corky respond. They live
very close to Angel Falls

NudeM,
I know that you were waiting to hear from newsdude,(you should still refer to him for the dates of the gatherings), but I can let you know that this incident was the first on that I have ever heard of at this place. newsdude is my roomate, we have been up there numerous times and Cork has been up there countless times before we even lived in the area. He told me that this was the first he has ever heard of sheriffs having any problems. We will still be enjoying the area. Stay in touch with newsdude, he will inform yo of dates for the gathering. Later man.

Bart and Aaron: Thanks for getting back to me on this subject. I'm sure this was only a one time incident, but I was just curious about the possible patroling of the area. I hope to make it up there one day. The pictures posted in the past look just great. Looks like a prime location for nudists.

Thanks, and hope to see you guys someday.

Bart, Aaron: & everybody else. I've been a regular @ Angel Falls for 3 years. I was there last Sat., Sun. & Tues. The 'Sheriff' incident was a first & last (so far).
Still don't know the date of this "Planned Gathering" mentioned above. Please advise.

Jalop....Good to here from a recent regular visitor to Angel Falls. How is the water this summer?I noticed that many Sierra streams...not fed by dams.... are extremely low this year. The Stanislaus at Cleos Baths was almost dry. /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Having heard about the Sheriff's visit, I went up to the Falls area Tuesday. As I got there, a fellow nudist(from Mariposa) said that a family man had asked him to get dressed as he was approaching with his wife, adult daughter, and grandson. The nudist covered himself with a towel and just walked away letting the folks have their space. The grandson proceeded to strip to his underpants(he was about 5-8 years old. He ends up showing more skin then the nudist. One of the other nudist just laid there in all his glory a short distance away.
You do have to worry that one of the tourist might get upset and complain.
There were other tourists up and down the trail, but there were no problems.

outdoorbare You could probably fit all the water thru a 6" pipe, but just below Angel Falls there are 2 nice ponds deep enough to dive & swin in. The regulars have taken to building a small dam to keep it the upper thus. The lower is rather natural. No way to deny that it's going down.
Last year they closed & locked the gate to the parking lot the day after Labor Day; I wonder if that's the routine..?
Hi Irwin: I met you up there last weekend.. I'm the one with the big belly & whiskers. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Jalop:
was that you I was talking about -Tuesday, when the Grandparents, daughter, and Grandson were there? You thought I was the one you met the weekend before. I only met you on Tuesday. I was the Asian with the backpack that climbed thru the rocks to the falls, not knowing about the trail which would have been easier on my feet, knees, and bare bottom. LOL.

To everyone interested in the gathering at Angel Falls, Bass Lake, Ca., we have set a date. We will meet on Saturday October 5th. We will be there from 12:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m. Those interested please reply. Directions: From Fresno take Highway 41 north. After you drive through Oakhurst it is about another two miles and you will turn right on Rd. 222, that is the Bass Lake turnoff. Go a few miles and always stay to the left. It will turn into the high road of Bass Lake which is Rd. 426. You will pass by the Mountain Government Center on your left. The Falls is about another 1/4 mile. If you go over a bridge over water, you have gone too far. You will be going into a little driveway on the left with a steel fence and dirt driveway to the parking lot. Park down there near the river. Hike up the left side of the river on the trail. Look for pool just below Angel Falls, see photo, far right below.
See ya there!

I am a member of INA and CYAN. A few of us from LA Cal. would like to go to Bass Lake on the Oct.5. It would take at least 5hrs to get there. Do you know of a place were 5 of us could stay around the area from Friday evening to Sunday evening?
Camping is fine or any other ideas.

I was excited to here about the gathering to be held at Bass Lake Oct. 5. At the same time I am bummed because I will be out of town that weekend. Will there any more planned activities there this year? I am new to the area and have been to Angel Falls a few times. It seems like the times that I have been there that I have definetely been in the minority by going nude. Does anyone know of other places that are close by where the nudist are the majority? I'm hoping to be able to make it to a future gathering at Bass Lake or another lacal spot. Have fun next weekend!! /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I'm finally back on line after being down for a
month. Wish I could've been there.

Anybody been to the falls recently?.....Wondering about water conditions this time of year with the heat and high snow runoff in some streams...I would like to check it out before the water gets too low...ODB /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
