Buried in the nude

I've never seen this topic come up before but it's worth exploring. We were all born nude, we've all touted the nudist lifestyle, but what about our final exit from this life? I've seen nude weddings and birthday parties and every other celebration that we have along the way but has anyone ever heard of the deceased being buried in the nude? It seems so appropriate that we leave this life the same way we came into it but I wonder if anyone does?

One obvious topic here would be the impact on open casket funerals. The body normally has incisions made during embalming that would have to be done differently. Perhaps a drape of some sort across the lower torso would cover that...

I'm really not trying to be morbid here but nude burial seems only natural and I would like to hear everyone's opinion.

I've heard of people being buried nude but it's rare. Th eone thing that you HAVE TO DO is stipulate, in writting, that this is how you want to be buried. Otherwise, some relative might come along and change that and then what.
I toyed with this idea for a bit myself but decided to go in sweats and a t-shirt because that's how I'm most know for. I'll dress to the 9's when I have to but in public I dress down and at home dress WAYYY down.
You could also stipulate that any clothes be removed after the funeral to passifiy the relatives.

Mine will be a closed casket. I will be buried nude without draping and a picture of me, probably with clothes on, on top of the casket.

My wife has not stipulated yet whether she wants to be clothed or not. /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

It doesn't really matter to me since I wouldn't be alive to enjoy being nude.

I have pondered this as well, and I am leaning towards leaving nude. As far as open or closed casket, it dosen't matter to me because it will not matter who knew or not at that point, leave it open.

yes you can be buried nude, a male is not a real problem since most caskets are half-couch.
a female would need a scarf or some such around the neck to cover the breasts-double standard
i know. now you can not bury someone face down
or standing up;yes relatives have tried that in the past.i should know being a former funeral director.
