Trailscout, this is a very tough time for you and your family and I send you my condolences. When my mother died I found myself trying to concentrate on celebrating her life. She had a long life but sometimes very difficult but in the main a happy life well pleased with how her three children, my brother and sister and I have turned out. I know a little about you from your postings and feel that your father would have been very happy to have been your father.

Folks, it was very kind of you to think of me and my family as we mourn for Dad.

But we believe that he had reached the end of his strength and was ready to go on to meet his Maker, so we mourn merely because we have to say farewell, but only for a while.

Dad had probably never heard the word "naturism", but he sometimes practiced it at home.
His matter-of-fact attitude about nudity is not as common in American life as it was in the days of his childhood in a rural setting.

I do not think that America is doomed to a future of prudishness. Our society may not be as carefree and rustic as it was in my father's youth, but common sense about nudity still prevails in many parts of Europe despite high population density and a sophisticated culture.
Perhaps our hopes to restore common sense about the human body will meet with success by studying places where such attitudes are still common, learning from the early days of naturism in America and Europe, supporting local organized naturist efforts, and finding good role models, individuals who are comfortable "in their skin".
I will spend the rest of my life trying to be more like Dad, the guy who by example led to my eventual decision to pursue naturism as part of a life well-lived.

Thanks again to all of you!
