Ilsley Arrives at Travelites
Ilsley arrived this week at Travelites, a nonlanded South Carolina
club affiliated with AANR since 1987. Members range in age from
infants to over 65 and travel to members' homes for activities such as
volleyball, hiking, swimming, hot tubbing, table tennis, and
horseshoes or to area lakes and rivers for boating, canoeing, and
swimming. Travelites' members are also frequent guests at landed
clubs. The club is also involved in community service projects, and
enjoys outings to restaurants, museums, and zoos.
The Ilsley is a traveling trophy commissioned to commemorate AANR's
75th Anniversary as the credible voice of reason for nude recreation
in North America. Ilsley is traveling to nearly 40 AANR clubs and
resorts across the U.S. and Canada. Throughout his tour, special
themed events and celebrations are planned at host clubs along the way.
The award is named for the late Rev. Ilsley Boone, the founder and
first Executive Director of AANR's predecessor, the American
Sunbathing Association. Boone is perhaps best remembered as the
flamboyant clergyman who served as plaintiff in the 1958 case of
Sunshine and Health v. Summerfield. That case went all the way to the
United States Supreme Court and established, once and for all, First
Amendment protection for nudist publications.
Ilsley ends his tour in August 2006 at the Association's 75th
Anniversary Convention at Deanza Springs Resort outside San Diego,
California.

Credible voice of reason for nude recreation?
Why do they feel they should give themselves that title? As time goes on more and more people question their credibility. I know I do.
They lie about how many clubs they have.
They lie about how many members they have.
They refuse to investigate their clubs when complaints come in.
You know I can add a lot to this list. Those that have been nudists for any length of time and have followed AANR really question their credability. Look on Rixplace for instance.
I wonder what Ilsley would say about all this.

Cyndiann: Wy must yo ALWAYS question someones' credits everytime they make a report on something YOU don't agree with, nor have any interest in? Consider your post reported to the moderators.
Thanks Cheri, for your link. As the photos you provided, looks like everyone is having a good time. Thanks, and disregard Cyndianns' attempt to ruin your topic. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

nudeM,
I'm afraid that I must disagree with you and side with Cyndiann on this one.
I must be careful to add that Cheri and her club seem to reflect all that Reverend Boone envisioned for the future of nudism, but some clubs are far from righteous and the greater tragedy is that their governing body is not disciplining the small handful of clubs that are making all of us look bad.
It seems obvious that AANR needs to do some housecleaning or we should rise up and do it for them.
I must concur that Reverend Boone would be terribly disappointed, even angry with the state of affairs in organized nudism.
That does not detract from Cheri's efforts. If only we had more like her!

From the Clothesfree Forums Terms of Service (TOS):
"Never post any material that is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law...
Isn't it humorous how Cyndiann is always spouting off about flaming and TOS violations and here she has just violated two TOS directives right from the top of the list?
This isn't the first time tho. It happens often and has been going on for some time. Why is she still allowed on this site?

Cheri's own husband distanced himself from AANR because of how they treated him when he wanted accountability for their funds used for governmental affairs.
What does "question someone's credits" mean? And how do you know what my interest in AANR is?
I happen to think it's extremely interesting that AANR gives itself a trophy claiming they are the credible voice of reason for nude recreation in North America.
There are a lot of people who don't think AANR is so credible, among them being some very influential nudists. I'm hardly an anomoly, I'm part of an ever growing group of intelligent people who see AANR as very not credible.
And you know very well that I'm not posting this from thin air. The issues have been presented here over the last few months in great detail.
NudeM, it's also well known that you like to shut up anyone that posts what you don't agree with and you try that on me all the time. Your last whine about me was deleted while the posts you were whining about are still there. You don't get to determine what views are on this board. Why do you always question what I post and nobody else? It's to the point where you are once again stalking me like you used to. I'm sure there is something in the TOS address that as well.

We all know that AANR has quite a few problems that need to be dealt with, but throwing up a reminder of such and list of faults everytime someone posts an announcement that mentions AANR is annoying and out of line. The complaint has been noted.
