Posts: 1721 Posted June 16, 2007 04:33 PM Weather here over the past month has been absoluteu stellar. I am nude as much as I can be, work of course does not condone that where I work. But at home I am almost always nude and I cannot wait for the end of day to get home and strip naked to feel the freedom that brings. I am nude with company, if they don't mind and most do but I don't have that much so works for me!

I spend nearly all my home time nude. Was in the back yard today nude, and a neighbor came home. THere was a stockade fence and bushes between him and me so I don't think he saw me and I just went back inside.

Most my friends now I am always naked and is in part why they don't just drop in. They simply do not know what they are missing.

So that is me.

1. feeling free and relaxed. 2.having to run put clothes on when textiles visit. 3. 24/7 in the home. 4. at home and at nudist lodges. 5. in my younger years. i would often be nude in my apartment. 6. born to be a nudist. 7. definately with others, but can be alone also. 8. no. only other nudist we have met along the way and of course my wife and daughter know, that's it! 9. anything social. so much more enjoyable to be around like minded people. even if it's just a home visit. thanks for the post. not offended at all by the questions. that's how we learn!

What is the best thing for you about being a nudist?

Developing a healthy relationship with my body and not being obsessed with superficialities.

What (if anything) is a disadvantage about being a nudist?

Not being able to share it with just anyone. Though I'm more open about it than I used to be.

How much time do you spend nude?

It depends where I am and who is around. Sleeping's easy. If I'm at my g/f's place, it's much more time.

Where do you like to spend time nude?

Mostly it's at home, but if I can get outside or in the water... amen.

When did you "discover" nudity, or that you were a nudist?

Sixth grade or so. Admitted it in my 20s.

Did someone introduce you to nudism (or were you a natural) ?

A natural.

Do prefer to spend time nude on your own (or with others)?

The more the merrier, though sometimes it's a singular pursuit.

Is your status as a "nudist" known to friends? family? strangers?

Some friends. Some family. All of you.

What nudist/naturist experience or venue do you recommend?

Little Beach in Maui, or sneaking it during any night walk on a beach, though it's not necessarily allowed.

Welcome Daniel and Brenda. I'm nude at home and not as often as I'd like. I do find it comfortable both mentally and physically. I hope in the future to have more to add.

What is the best thing for you about being a nudist? The feeling of freedom and relaxation.

What (if anything) is a disadvantage about being a nudist? The lack of available opportunities and venues to be nude

How much time do you spend nude? I sleep nude and spend as much time at home nude as I can.

Where do you like to spend time nude? I spend most my nude time in a few rooms of my home. Would like to experience social nudism more often.

When did you "discover" nudity, or that you were a nudist? Have enjoyed being nude for years but "discovered" nudism in Sep '05. First visit to a nudist campground was last Saturday.

Did someone introduce you to nudism (or were you a natural) ? I guess I was a natural. In my first naturist experience, there was almost no nervousness once I got my clothes off.

Do prefer to spend time nude on your own (or with others)? I enjoy "nude solitude" but being nude with others is fun too.

Is your status as a "nudist" known to friends? family? strangers? I don't hide it but most are either unaware or don't take my talk of nudism seriously.

What nudist/naturist experience or venue do you recommend? My experience is limited but being nude at home as much as possible is a good start. Other than that, I guess it depends on what's available and affordable.

Do you mind if I answer these as a non-nudist?

What is the best thing for you about being a nudist?

I suppose you save on clothing wear-and-tear, laundry etc, plus you're never stuck for an outfit.

What (if anything) is a disadvantage about being a nudist?

People misunderstand your motivation, maybe? Or they think it's odd or comical?

How much time do you spend nude?

As little as possible. Say, typicaly, 3 minutes per day while taking a shower.

Where do you like to spend time nude?

Aside from in the shower, I don't much like being nude.

When did you "discover" nudity, or that you were a nudist?

I learned about nudism many years ago as a teenager. I was curious about it, but it certainly wasn't something I wanted to try for myself.

Did someone introduce you to nudism (or were you a natural) ?

I have friends who are nudists - both cyber-friends like on here but also some real life friends. While I respect - and even admire - nudists, I don't want to participate in nudism.

Do prefer to spend time nude on your own (or with others)?

I prefer to be clothed alone or with others. Nobody ever sees me naked.

Is your status as a "nudist" known to friends? family? strangers?

My family know I have nudist friends and I'm in no way embarassed about that.

What nudist/naturist experience or venue do you recommend?

I can't answer that except to say that I hope nudists continue to recognise many of us textiles still have our hang-ups and they always show consideration for us in that. In return, I hope the textile majority shows similar consideration by facilitating more and better provisions for nudists.

The best thing about being a nudist= Comfort!
Disadvantages= Stigmas, misunderstandings, local laws, and people who think they know what is best for society!
I spend as much time nude as possible!
I would like to spend more time nude outside!
I would have to say I was always a nudist! My wife introduced me to social nudism when we were dating!
Alone or with others..it is all the same!
All my family and all my friends know I am a nudist and none are even bothered by it!
I recommend a nude hike whenever possible, or an actual club like Mountain Air Ranch.

What is the best thing for you about being a nudist?

The sense that I am living an unordinary life, and that I have connected with people who are truly open-minded and accepting of individual definitions of happiness.

Anyone can be a bowler, race fan, or rock concert groupie. Nudism requires not only participation but a philosophical willingness to view life differently. In the same way parents teach children to be respectful of teachers, foreigners, non-traditional homosexuality and and people of different religions, nudist parents (or nudists in general) must teach themselves and then others about acceptance of this as a valid lifestyle.

What (if anything) is a disadvantage about being a nudist?

My disadvantages are definitely not having the financial resources to visit established nudist clubs in my area, and the lack of even a clothing-optional section at nearby beaches. Also, I feel sad regarding the financial pressures most of us have in American society that prevent us from working at nudist resorts, campgrounds or businesses like ClothesFree.com Free-trade economic life with mortgages, college loans, multi-car insurance, GAS and never ending property taxes, is not that great if it prevents us from pursuing the other things we are the most passionate about!

I would like to travel internationally and visit nudist venues and clubs in foreign countries.

How much time do you spend nude?

As much time as I can daily, which is very little due to current living arrangements and a lack of privacy in my home, backyard and neighborhood.

Where do you like to spend time nude?

At home; and then I dream of walking the streets of my homecity nude and not offending anyone. I also dream of seeing nude people walking their dog, working on the car in their driveway, and wandering through local malls happily shopping in the nude.

Once, while employed as a security officer in a gated Las Vegas community, I saw an older, white-haired gentleman unloading groceries from his SUV while a 4 or 5 year old girl (granddaughter?) ran through the front yard naked. He did not blink an eye over this and her behavior appeared to be regarded as a completely ordinary thing.

Wait, maybe I am dreaming of ordinary life in a parallel universe!

When did you "discover" nudity, or that you were a nudist?

After noticing several books on Nudism in America in a mail-order catalog for QPB (Quality Paperback Publishers), ordering it and 'learning' people were doing such things in America (this was around 1986-87). Prior to that time I had only been aware of nude beaches and had never been to one.

My mother and step-father had discussed the idea of visiting a nude beach on Virginia's eastern shore with my brother and I once, but plans never advanced beyond the discussion stage. In trying to act more mature, I said I would definitely go.

Did someone introduce you to nudism (or were you a natural)?
(See the above answer)

Do prefer to spend time nude on your own (or with others)?

Defintitely with others and I have attended White Tail Park (now W. T. Resort), Avalon before it relocated to WV, two landed clubs in Arizona and participated with non-landed groups in Arizona and Nevada.

Is your status as a "nudist" known to friends? family? strangers?

Several family members know of my passion for nudism but have never practiced it with me. Of course, my wife knows I am a nudist but she does not appreciate the idea it can offer the benefits of stress reduction, body acceptance, breaks from textile-complusive societal standards or challange us to be more than animals driven by instincts to survive and reproduce.

I introduced a co-worker to nudism in Arizona, her name was Jodi, and she tried skinny-dipping and nude sunbathing near Sedona, Arizona shortly after our discussions.

I see nudism as having many spiritual aspects, as mentioned above, and psychological ones in its requiring us to behave respectfully towards each other in ways many often fail to do while clothed.

What nudist/naturist experience or venue do you recommend?

For those with the financial means, any one they wish to visit as often as they like!

For everyone else, I feel we must get constitutional with our use of public lands such as National Forests, we should be willing to be cited for the occasional nude use of recreational areas (never having been, I can't preach though) and peacefully request equal access to other areas on a persistent basis.

There are ways to practice this lifestyle anywhere and everywhere, but it does need to be done on a somewhat considerate and thoughtful manner. I believe, "If you promote it, they will join." as similarly stated in an American movie of some note, 'If you build it, they will come.'

The only things that can not be done nude are those which we haven't yet imagined doing. Truly, I would like to organize a nude bowling night and nude swims in my homecity, but laziness often wins out over my nudist zeal. Only in this case thank goodness!

What is the best thing for you about being a nudist?
"Feeling of freedom, less washing, and great way to destress and relax"

What (if anything) is a disadvantage about being a nudist?
"Inability to go outside even in my own backyard for fear of arrest & prosecution. Sometimes there can be an inner conflict between religion and inability to see what is wrong with non-sexual nudity."

How much time do you spend nude?
"I am nude as much or as often as I can be. Notice I get more work done when nude."

Where do you like to spend time nude?
"Nude at home needless to say and the only other place has been the locker room. Would very much love to sunbath nude in my backyard. Were it not illegal would consider doing some Saturday errands in the nude."

When did you "discover" nudity, or that you were a nudist?
"I discovered my love for nudity at 12 years of age. Did not know it to be a nudist or naturist life style at the time. I just discovered I hated wearing clothing and enjoyed being completely free of clothing as much as possible."

Did someone introduce you to nudism (or were you a natural) ?
"I was a natural...no regrets."

Do prefer to spend time nude on your own (or with others)?
"Do not know. Would like to give social nudity a try. Wife is not a nudist but she has no objections to be nude all the time. Nudist resorts I learned from this forum tend to take a dim view of single males ergo I do not attend to forego the social stigma. Have enough of that being a minority."

Is your status as a "nudist" known to friends? family? strangers?
"I mentioned before my wife is aware of it and is acccepting. No one else, family or friends, is aware of my life style. Many of them would be very surprised."

What nudist/naturist experience or venue do you recommend?
"Cannot recommend any from personal experience. The most popular seems to be nude or c/o beaches...I am curious about the nude ocean cruises and tropic vacations."

Good questions...you two have a terrific day...and good luck.

Have a great (nude) day...

Enquiring Minds Want to Know...

What is the best thing for you about being a nudist?

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif Uh, not wearing clothes

What (if anything) is a disadvantage about being a nudist?

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif Not being able to be nude as much as we want to.

How much time do you spend nude?

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif ALL day, ALL night, except for work and shopping (except for online shopping).

Where do you like to spend time nude?

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif Mostly at home right now, want to add to the list later though...

When did you "discover" nudity, or that you were a nudist?

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif For me (Daniel) it was when i was about 7 or 8, i discovered that i prefer nudity to being clothed. For Brenda it was a practical thing, she prefers to be cool, and her way of coping when she is too warm, is to wear less clothing, or no clothing (it's a comfort thing). So... we both prefer nudity :-) (works for me)

Did someone introduce you to nudism (or were you a natural) ?

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif We are both natural

Do prefer to spend time nude on your own (or with others)?

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif Haven't spent time nude with others yet, seems it would give us more places to be nude.

Is your status as a "nudist" known to friends? family? strangers?

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif One friend (also so inclined), No Family (except us two), about 21,500 "strangers" (i.e. friends we haven't met).

What nudist/naturist experience or venue do you recommend?

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif Haven't been to any, but there are some that i think would be nice...

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif Orient Land Trust / Valley View Hot Springs Colorado)

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif Mountain Air Ranch (Colorado)

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif Deer Park Nudist Resort (California)

Daniel,

In your profile you note that "wife and I are always nude at home, and would like to start visiting some nude resorts...." This just may be the time to get out the house and visit nearby Mountain Air Ranch before the frost is on the pumpkin. My wife and I spent a few days there and loved the freehiking opportunities.

I can also recommend DeAnza Springs Resort and, of course, Shangri La Ranch http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wink3.gif

Oh, add Orvis Hot Springs (http://orvishotsprings.com/) in southwestern Colorado to your clothing optional places to visit list.

OK-here goes:
*the best thing about being nude is the freedom of movement. Even my developing fat roll just moves with the flow!

*I work from home so many days 24 hrs! As much nude time as possible.

*home, beaches and the club

*about 15 years ago; although I almost always slept nude as a kid and frequently showered or otherwise shared the bathroom growing up with my dad and siblings

*believe it or not-my kids!

*much prefer to be nude with others

*most definitely-it is a family thing with us here

What is the best thing for you about being a nudist?

What (if anything) is a disadvantage about being a nudist?

The feeling and no restrictions

Depends on the day and what I'm doing. Any where from a few hours to the entire day.

Where do you like to spend time nude?

When did you "discover" nudity, or that you were a nudist?

At avery early age.

Did someone introduce you to nudism (or were you a natural) ?

Alone and with others.

Is your status as a "nudist" known to friends? family? strangers?

What is the best thing for you about being a nudist? The self confidence nudism has brought me in my everyday life. The more accepting of my body I became, the more confident I became with life in general. There is a spiritual awakening that come with nudism taht I have not experienced in any other lifestyle or activity.

What (if anything) is a disadvantage about being a nudist? Years ago I lived in Vermont on 7 wooded and private acres. At that time, I was not as comfortable with nudism and didn't take advantage of teh opportunity I had. I wish I had more opportunity to be nude outdoors. I don't like being secluded in my home with curtains drawn.

How much time do you spend nude? A few hours in the morning before work and a few hours in the evening after work. My partner is not a nudist but doesn't mind. But I sometimes feel like I'm on display when I'm nude at home and he's not. He's supportive of it and thinks it's great, so I'm the one that needs to adjust my comfort level. Been to a few resorts and loved being nude 24/7.

Where do you like to spend time nude? I like the campground style resorts. Being outdoors and a rustic setting is very comfortable and spiritually uplifting.

When did you "discover" nudity, or that you were a nudist? about 5 years ago I just became less self conscious. I had some friends living with me and didn't care if they saw me walking to the shower or getting dressed. Once I realized that it wasn't as taboo as I thought, teh feelings of insecurity dwindled.

Did someone introduce you to nudism (or were you a natural) ? All on my own.

Do prefer to spend time nude on your own (or with others)? I prefer with others. Seeing people go about their business like at a resort makes one realize that it's not about being NUDE, it's about being yourself and you just happen to be nude.

Is your status as a "nudist" known to friends? family? strangers? a few friends and family members. I find it's easier to tell new friends about it than longtime friends. New people don't know me as well and just assume I've been a nudist forever and think nothing of it.

What nudist/naturist experience or venue do you recommend? I recommend resorts or campgrounds becasue you are in a safe and welcoming community of people who share a common interest. I've found that nudists are easy to get along with even when you don't share other points of view. Nudism is kind of like the great equalizer. Even when some of the topics on this site have gotten heated, we all still share that common interest that brings us here together.

What is the best thing for you about being a nudist?
Best thing? There are many; no clothes so a small grocery bill when it comes to Tide or whatever you use. Also I've found nudists are the most open-minded and intelligent of the people on the net.

What (if anything) is a disadvantage about being a nudist?
There still are stereotypes concerning nudists such as; nympho, predator, or something that made me laugh, a reverend using binoculars was saying to the press "Where are they going to strike next?" Strike?

How much time do you spend nude?
All the time I can. All at home, most at work, (until a month ago I was an exotic dancer) the only time I can think of where I can't be is when I go shopping.

Where do you like to spend time nude?
In remote creeks skinny dipping and meditating, at home, anywhere I am.

When did you "discover" nudity, or that you were a nudist?
About age 6, but that I was a nudist came a little later.

Did someone introduce you to nudism (or were you a natural) ?
My dad showed me the old 'your body is cool,' but I guess I was a natural because I could have just said yeah dad and gone on my way. That was when I was just able to interact with others.

Do prefer to spend time nude on your own (or with others)?
Well, both. I like to be on my own when I'm thinking, but I like to be with others when I socialize.

Is your status as a "nudist" known to friends? family? strangers?
To friends and family, strangers get to know it if I trust them. You don't want a guy to turn into a horndog because he knows a naked girl is writing to him.

What nudist/naturist experience or venue do you recommend?
First I'd recommend just staying in your house for a day. Feels good? I don't know which resorts are around you or you could try a very remote creek or lake to go skinny dipping.
enjoy this life Daniel and Brenda,

What is the best thing for you about being a nudist?

For me....it's destressing, relaxing and
much more comfortable. I enjoy the freedom and the ability for all parts of my skin to breathe.

What (if anything) is a disadvantage about being a nudist?

Not having our grown children participate. We spend lots of time together but nude time we spend alone or with friends.

How much time do you spend nude?

As much as possible. When home we never wear clothes or...very little like a light robe if it's cold, but mostly nude. Only dress when we have to.

Where do you like to spend time nude?

Home, beaches, resorts. Soon...our new backyard.

When did you "discover" nudity, or that you were a nudist?

I began wanting to be nude all the time around the age of 14. After we got married we were nude at home when I was home from the service. Soon after I was discharged we were home nudists.

Did someone introduce you to nudism (or were you a natural) ?

I was a natural. It's always been something I felt I was. My wife was introduced by me and has been a nudist for over 30yrs.

Do prefer to spend time nude on your own (or with others)?

With my wife and friends. We ensure we have time for both.

Is your status as a "nudist" known to friends? family? strangers?

Some friends, our daughters, son in laws and grandchildren know. Co-workers and some aquaintances. We don't broadcast it but don't shy away from telling anyone anymore.

What nudist/naturist experience or venue do you recommend?

Terra Cotta Inn, Club Orient, the beach or any of the many clubs. I say if you're near any nudist venue...take full advantage.

Have a great (nude) day...

Daniel & Brenda...
