A poll to go "hand and hand" with the thread: "I wonder what percentage of Naturists are Left Handed".

At least there will be a sampling of users on this site.

I am so totally right handed it can be dangerous to use my left hand some days!

Same as nacktman, for me and my spouse.

Ambi-dextrous means 'equally right-handed.' My mother was naurally left-handed, but they made her use her right hand in school. We call her 'ambi-sinister.'

Left handed officially.

Very comfortable switching hands during the middle of sports play if right is easier or provides a better advantage.

Wife and one daughter absolutely lost with any thing requiring the left.

Being an accountant by trade, I never did understand the design of a calculator. It is designed to be used by the right hand. This just begs the question, how are you suppose to add up numbers and write the results? A lefty never has to put their pencil down.

I'm fully right handed, but after having done massage for more than 12 years and also having trained karate since 1990, my left hand is pretty strong and dextrous, but I still couldn't write with it if my life depended on it! lol

Yes, refering to the operation of a calculator, my mother, 'ambi-sinister,' can do it either way: calculate with the right and write with the left, or calculate with the left and write with the right. Only puts the pencil down to change hands for fun.

Ditto for me, a lefty accountant. I have my calculator on the left of my desk. There are some problems being left handed, Try writing details on a check stub (in OZ we call them cheque butts).

By the way DenitalLC - Are you trying to show that nudists are somehow genetically different fron the masses ?

I am legally right-handed, but I lost most use of that hand 22 years ago. So now I do everything left-handed.

I do most stuff right handed. Bowl, deal cards, shoot bow & arrow left handed.

I can do most things well with either hand, but some of them are easier right handed. Through sports play when I was young, and later in my job (construction) many tasks were easier with the left hand.

My left hand is extremely dumb. It only knows about three things. And all of those involve "assisting" my right hand in doing two-handed chores!

Oh wait... it does do a passable job of typing SWEETWATER TEXAS! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

I do most things right handed. But I do primary steering in the car with my left hand. And I have never had a stick shift.

I've checked out your Public Profile and noticed that your interests include music. Are you a musician? If you are, what instrument(s) do you play?

I play a variety of musical instruments, but I'm not ambidextrous.

There is a thread titled "Musicians" under "Meet
New Friends - USA" It's kind of languishing over there. Anyone is invited to sign in there.

I don't consider myself ambidextrous, but there are some things I can do reasonably well left-handed. I do have a left-handed baritone and I took it to TubaChristmas again.

I am right handed but after years of working with the computer mouse, I try to use my left as much as possible.

In our family of four our daughter is the only lefty. She is quickly learning things like where to sit at a restuarant table so she doesn't bump elbows with others. She is learning from Grandpa (also a nudist).

Lefty here!

alfredr,
Didn't know there was such a thing as a lefty baritone, wish I would have known about that when I played in grade school.

It's the only one I've ever heard of. Found it in a Goodwill store some years ago. Don't know any of its history, but it's about a hundred years old.

Hi James, NO, I just set up the poll based on someone in the original thread saying he'd like to see one. I thought this way we could "at a glance" see the percentages for this site.

I will admit to being a lefty myself though.

I have understood that 90% are right handed but here only 70%. Any good explanation?

missouriboy
01-19-2007, 05:05 AM
Explanation? Well, perhaps the lefty in that other thread who said he was "more intellegent" (sic) had it right -- it takes an inquiring, thinking mind to analyze and then reject society's erroneous dogma that any of our natural "bits" are "naughty." So if lefties really are more intelligent, it stands to reason that their numbers would be higher among nudists. Right? http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif
