For sale by owner is a brick home with stained cedar trim and new architectural shingles. It is located in Cedar Creek, Texas 78612 which is S/W of Bastrop. It is approx 1770 sf. and has 3 large bedrooms, a large kitchen, and 2 baths. It also includes approx 10 acres that are partially cleared with the remainder heavily wooded. There is a very nice tank / pond, approx. 1 acre in size with an island, large enough to stock and have a canoe or paddle boat, and can be seen from 4 rooms in the house! There are times when a deer or two will visit for breakfast! There are two covered porches and an uncovered patio off of the master bedroom. Plenty of areas to watch the rain, read or entertain. There are quite a few out buildings on the property including a 3 sided open barn, an open two bay shop and storage buildings. There is a path cleared all the way around the property. It is very peaceful and a beautiful place to take walks. There is a natural clearing in the woods that seems to be excluded from the world around you. Some even claim to have seen a leprechaun or two! The entire house except for the bedrooms has a rustic, earthy tile throughout. The bedroom carpets are all in excellent condition. There is a fireplace in the spacious living room with red oak trim and bookshelves/cabinets. The cabinets throughout the house are red oak. It is located off of the main road and is more than just a house and land it is more of a "place". There are lots of areas for kids to play and explore, a place for a large garden, flower beds and spots for just about any hobby or interest you could possibly imagine. People have said that this place in the springtime looks like a park! There is carpet grass all the way around the house and an in ground, automatic sprinkler system. The drive to Austin on a bad day is only 30 minutes and with the new toll road coming so close to Cedar Creek, any destination in Austin should not be a problem. You can work and enjoy everything Austin has to offer and still realize your dream of having a place in the country. If you have any questions please e-mail me at terryrd@juno.com or call 512 303-0212. The asking price if $198,500. Buyer agent commission negotiable. Please call for appointment to see the property. Please, no solicitation.

It certainly sounds like a nice place! I like the idea of having some property, that's the way to keep your sanity and your privacy. I am curious myself to know the asking price.

I am fell in a shock.
In my country having an average salary around 200 Brittish Pounds monthly and if any (like me) has around one thousand USD its relatively rich, we has a current prices for ordinary under-average level flat in ordinary block house the price around 60 000 to 80 000 pounds, but private house about 200-300 m2 price around 300 000 to 800 000 pounds. If any land piece insist there attached, for hektare ought be payed about 350 000 pounds. So, here this property described would be worth a millions and millions.

$200,000 is around the average price of a family home here in the U.S., except in "prime" areas like San Francisco, New York etc.
