I'm in Charlottesville. Got a friend who used to work for me, now working in Fairfax. He lives just north and west of Warrenton. Met him once for lunch in Manassus area.

I created a thread about nude socializing and it was the one of the most successful posts at this site with around 4.500 readers and nearly a thousand replies. It is very obvious that many want to socialize nude with others. Yet here in this thread are several including myself that are interested to nude socialize but has anyone contacted another?

No one has contacted me! Sheesh! If it is me, then maybe some kind person will explain to me what the issue is. If it is something else why don't we discuss that also to cure what ever ill that exists !

I have talked to a few vea e-mail about nude socializing but no one ever seems to do it. Why ?

Ok i feel like a clothed idiot. i started this thread and then lost my computer and forgot to log on to see if anyone replied.

because of my brain lapse i missed a great chance to meet some of the great memebers on this board. Took a motorcycle ride this weekend down to Charlottesville and then to Richmond {short pump area} then came north on 95 to fredricksburg. hopefully i will get the brain working again

I pass through Warrenton everyday to and from work. Wouldn't mind hanging out nude with others afternoons, Do you have others that you hang out with male and female?<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by Va_Scout:

I'm here in No. Va. also. I would like meeting and getting together with area nudists. I've enjoyed going to nude beaches and resorts for many years, but my wife is not into it. Many resorts or clubs do not allow married man to attend alone, so unfair...I guess some bad apples got in. Like to hear your thoughts or ideas, maybe start our own club...

I know exactly what you mean. I often feel like I'm the only one in Norfolk. Although I'm naked at home all the time - even with roommates here - it'd be great to have other 'likeminded' friends.

Clam, I know of a nudist who works in Richmond and lives in a rural area. He is the author of the book, "Nudist Among Us".

John, I know of a guy who lives very near you. I met him at White Tail Park this summer. He posts on Boyd Allen's forum.

Hey Guys,
THere are several people in RIchmond--I have met plenty at WTP, etc. Unfortunately, I guess they are not on the forum or are too busy to organize a group.
Clam, it is up to you! I will help, but I travel a lot for work, so you have to catch me between flights.

JohnBuff, you aren't the only one in Norfolk. I live in Virginia Beach. I wanna go to White Tail, etc, but it would be nice to go with other people so I wouldn't be bored or not have anyone to talk to. I'm intrigued about the idea of trying to get a clothing optional beach area here too.

I doubt you will go long without finding somebody to talk to at WTP. And the author should be in this weekend too. It's the Oyster Roast weekend. 'Course, it was a prepay. There is music and dance, water volleyball, every weekend. Frank http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Come on over one day. We thought of going to Avalon, but it didn't sound as nice as what we were familiar with at WTP. And don't take that personally. It could be a mis-conception on our part, and a simple reluctance on my part for travel to new places. I'm a stick in the mud! http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
And be sure, I've never heard a bad word about Avalon, and having not gone there,I'm not gonna venture an opinion of my own about it.

Just raising my hand and kicking this to the top of the pile. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/beam.gif

My wife and I are in Northern VA..Falls Church just inside the Beltway. We aren't able to host at the present time as we're living with/caring for my 90 year old monster...er..mother-in-law.

We've been to both Avalon and WTP but we haven't yet overnighted at Avalon. IMHO WTP has Avalon beat on the pool and common areas but Avalon has WTP beat on the housing, restaurant and the gorgeous scenery being nestled in the WV mountains.

A perfect excuse for vising Avalon is coming in August with the annual Music Fest. We went last year for a day and enjoyed it so much that I promptly made reservations for this year for the whole weekend.

I think the Music Fest would be a great excuse for a regional CFI gathering. I've got a room reserved at the lodge...if CFI cares to send me a flag to wave I'd be happy to post it outside my room during the festival and or make some flyers available.

The new Resturaunt should be open in a month or so at WTP. The snackbar will also be going full swing soon.

As a long time member of White Tail Park, I admit to some prejudice, but I have visited many parks and resorts especially in AANR's eastern region, and overall, I think that White Tail is among the elite parks in the US. I agree that transient housing is the main issue, but until the sewage disposal problem is resolved somehow, WTP has maximized it's ability to add additional housing units.

Someday....

Wow, so many virginians in this thread. I hope to see some of you all at WTP. The first warm weekend, i'm there. We should organize a group trip.

Michael,

We're members of Capital Area Family Naturists, www.cafnat.org (http://www.cafnat.org). It's a very active non-landed group with people from all types of backgrounds. We're having our last two rec center parties of the spring in April and May and then a lot of outdoor activities during summer.

You should try to plan on attending the AANR East nudist summer celebration at WTP. Check out their website at www.whitetailpark.org (http://www.whitetailpark.org) and click on the banner. You too could be a part of a Guiness world record attempt.

What are the rules at WTP and Avalon regarding unaccompanied married males?

Both are about equidistant from Charlottesville. Wish we could get a couple who'd host non-landed nudist events in the central part of the state. The Gesners in NJ were great at getting this going up there.

Walt Iliff
03-31-2006, 05:52 AM
Ralph,

WTP allows unaccompanied married individuals as long as the person attending the park has a written, notarized statement from the spouse acknowledging that he/she is aware that the individual is at a nudist venue and agrees that that it is OK for him/her to be there. I believe that Avalon has the same policy as do the vast majority of landed clubs in the US.

Jason,

You're absolutely correct. It's worked well for us. It seems as if you may not agree with the policy/may be offended by it. That's why there are several clubs in the area to choose from.

I'd love to attend Walt but to date all of the rooms are reserved for AANR officials and camping is not an option for us. We may try to visit for a couple of days during the event and stay in a "nearby" hotel. It's a shame that the WTP rooms are not "first come first served" since by the time any remaining rooms are release it may be difficult to find a hotel room as an alternate.

Ralf and Walt Iliff: I have a friend that occassionally goes to WTP, he is married and usually goes alone. Has taken his teen age daughter there with him a couple times but he is usually alone and never has he been asked for a notorized statement from his wife.

Just what I know from one attendee.

Hokie...WAKE UUUUPP!!!!!!!!!! You're having a dream. Snap out of it boy!!! Anywayyyyyy, you know that isn't going to happen. Va Bch COULD be the riviera of the mid-atlantic. But you know that isn't going to happen First of all, Va Bch has worked tooo hard on getting and maintaining a "family image" at the ocean front. I mean, look at all the signage they have down there for "No Swearing" and such. 2nd, in order TO become the riviera of the mid-atlantic, they would have to bring the europeans, (who do spend money if I might add). To bring the europeans, that would mean they would have to cater to their lifestyles and that AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!!!
Why???? Because it would go against City Council's narrow minded view of what family values are. Maybe someday in the future when we have a forward looking council, but til then. That's ok though, we just had an election and 2 incumbants got their pink slips. I expect more pink slips in November.

The WTR Bare riders might be just the ticket for you. Must be 20 WTR member/riders in the resort. About 1/2 the women own their own Harleys. Other riders from other resorts sometimes join in. They've even been to the Sturgis event. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

Surprised you haven't found out until now.
