As you can tell from the quote that I have used on my signature line since signing onto CFF in 2005, I am a big Yogi Berra fan. His ability to coin a phrase is second only to Norm Crosby. Yogi recently made a personal appearance here locally and I thought that it would be appropriate to share with every one some "Yogi-isms" that show off his way with words (or lack thereof). Try on the following Yogi quotes ( I didn't make any of these up):

"Never answer an anonymous letter"

"When you come to a fork in the road, take it"

Referring to a Steve McQueen movie: "He must have made that before he died"

When asked what he would do if he found $1 million: "I'd find the fellow who lost it and, if he was poor, I'd return it"

"I knew I was going to take the wrong train, so I left early"

"If you don't know where you are going, you will wind up some where else"

"If you can't imitate him, don't copy him"

"You better cut the pizza in four pieces because I'm not hungry enough to eat six"

After being told he looked cool: "Thanks, you don't look so hot yourself"

"A nickel isn't worth a dime today"

When asked the time: "Do you mean right now?"

"I always thought the record would stand until broken"

"Always go to other people's funerals, other wise, they won't come to yours"

"Half the lies told weren't true"

"He hits from both sides. He is amphibious"

"The only color I don't have is navy brown"

I suspect there are even more Yogi-isms if you want to do a google search, but I thought these would be fun to read. Enjoy.

My all time favorite Yogi quote -

"It's like deja-vu, all over again."

"It ain't over 'til it's over!"

"Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded."
