Hi! everyone. This evening after some hours we shall come together some interested persons and shall try to put a points to the goal - build up the Latvian national naturist/nudist Society.
What You may help with... To generate the addittional ideas about
1) Should it be named naturist society or nudist society or nudist/naturist society, or other way
2) The general aim what this is needed for and be usable for (if I have forgot sth). Dont forget the future too, to put in the statutes wide ambitions enough.
3) If someone have good sample of statutes for similar organisation, I shall be thankful to receive a copy by e-mail: Johny_59lv@yahoo.com
4) What a international organisation of Naturists for such national Society would be most beneficial and the same time not too expensive to make a "friendship agreement"? INA, AANR or other?

Johny,
I feel comfortable answering questions 2) and 4):
1) Should it be named naturist society or nudist society or nudist/naturist society, or other way
I like the word naturist, because it implies harmony with the natural systems of the Earth. Nudist is not a bad word. It has a rich heritage in Europe of good health and a sensible attitude about the human body, but I still like "naturist" better.
4) What a international organisation of Naturists for such national Society would be most beneficial and the same time not too expensive to make a "friendship agreement"? INA, AANR or other? [/QB][/QUOTE]
The International Naturist Federation (http://www.inffni.org/) brings together all national naturist organisations from around the world.
AANR is for the United States only.
The Naturist Society is for the United States only.
Resorts and clubs are beginning to affiliate with INA, and it may cost you less than the older groups. They are very focused on promoting naturism among the young primarily through the Internet and visual media.

AANR is a North American association. It has a large presence in Canada (Ontario is part of the Midwest Region, and Western Canada has its own region in the AANR). There are also AANR clubs in Mexico and Jamaica. AANR is the INF representative for the US, but it is not a US only association.
The Naturist Society is an international association. Most of its affiliates are in the US and Canada, but there are many others throughout the Americas and Europe.

Hi Trailscout!
RE:I still like "naturist" better.
1) Between 1920 and 1960 in Latvia was legal own national organisation what has name "nudist association". So if we may stay on the trail of KGB murdered martyrs and claim we are real offspring as we feel us, it would be good.
2) Naturism is wording without of deep sense in this region and general people may ask - What hell is this organisation for, while "nudist" they now well the meaning, everyone. I dont know is it bad or good.
3) I feel the word nudist means a bit wider group of people, for some perhaps never like to go nature and their only nudity is inside of flat walls. Then he is no naturist but is still nudist.
But O.K. Yesterday we gathered 3 guys and draw a battle plan, so tomorrow we meet other some what comes with historical statutes of past Latvian Society and we shall try in some 2 or 3 weeks to generate the statute project to vote in gathering between some 20 or 30 people. Hopefuly we shall rent one sauna with tea and some cakes, shall demonstrate them our www site which is growing up hour by hour and then it is simple job of technique- to pay the tax and go to the State Register.
Additionally I hope to invite two journalistesses to this event, I have been with them sometimes clotsheless so I know they are positively thinking.

Johny,
By all means, use the word that has the most significance in your area. If using the word "nudist" in the name of your new organization will provide continuity with the name of those who suffered much for the cause of body freedom, then it is a good way indeed to honor these Latvian nudist predecessors.
I am very pleased that a society of Latvian nudists is being born at this moment.
I apologize for the mistakes I made about the various societies, but Mark was able to correct the errors quickly.
INF affiliation seems to be very common with the national European clubs, but you must consider if the fees can be borne by such a new club.
I am also glad that you are getting attention from
journalists so very early in the process.
Congratulations!
