Medical marijauna. I'm all for it. I originally posted this under another heading and it only got 1 response. I just now realized that it fits much better under the miscellaneous. So, what about it?
Anyone out there that thinks the federal law-makers need to make changes in their narrow-minded perspectives and give the constitution a chance to save some lives from painful defeatism?

Personnaly I think it should be legalized as it has in some states. However even in those states those that own marijauna can still be arrested under federal law. Changing laws is difficult but if enough people pressure their state representatives, change will come. It is getting enough people to get involved that is a challenge.

Shaybare,
I just said something to 'friendlynudist' that I may live to regret, so this may be my last post. The guy is so f___in' fascist, I had to say something. I don't care if they do kick me out of the forum, I had to say something to that p__g! One would think that, from his perspective, this isn't the INA, but the USA, with the big gun-toting Bush admin at the head of the forum! Leave it to a-holes like that to ruin a good thing with fascist misconceptions of freedom.
Sorry, I'm out of here!

unkat 27,

The forum accepts many points of view. Many things are said here and should not be taken personally. I , too, spouted off once when I had let things get too me. I left to take a walk and when I calmed down I returned and apologized for my outburst. This is a good forum with an understanding group of sincere individuals.

I have not read the post that you refer to, but whatever was said can be understood by this group. I am not suggesting that you change your point of view. You may, however, change the way you present that view.

If you leave the forum it would be to your loss. I hope you stay.

Forever Nude,
Shaybare

At the very least, we can be at try to be civil to each other. As the old saying goes, I may not agree with what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it.
As nudist, if we can't even get along with each other, why should we expect non-nudist to accept us for what we are?

My view is that for medicinal purposes, marijuana should be used. As for legalization, in my oppinion that should NEVER happen. It should remain an illegal narcotic when it comes to recreational use.

Is it that much more dangerous or addictive than alcoholic beverages or tobacco, which are legal, though subject to limitations? True, one should never drive or operate heavy machinery while under its influence, but the same is said about booze.

As for medicinal use, I too am strongly for it. This may surprise some who know my religions convictions, but I have Biblical backing for my stand: "Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more." (Proverbs 31:6,7) It is within a Christian's and a medical person's duty to relieve pain, and I have heard that marijuana is one of the best ways to relieve severe pain, far better even than morphine and certainly than liquor.

OK, first unkat, this is also not the appropriate forum. This is just the regualr "Miscellaneous" forum, which states it should "still {be} related to nude recreation." The correct forum would be the "Off-Topic Miscellaneous" forum.

And FYI, Virginia has had a medical marijuana law since the late 70s amd if I am right, there is one man here who is receiving it. I, too, believe that it should at least be looked into for medicinal purposes while against it for recreational use.

As for tobacco, the government is more addicted to it than people are. They are getting money for it in so many ways. Taxes for the land used to grow it, taxes for selling it to the companies, taxes for selling cigarettes, and the lawsuits where the states get the money.

I recall a couple of years ago when the FDA was asked to regulate tobacco. Their response was something like "If we regulated it, we would have to ban it." People can quit smoking, but the government cannot quit greenbacks.

It is my opinion that marijuana should be legalized ,taxed and regulated much the same as alcoholic beverages, allowing the sale to adults over the age of 21 thereby taking some of the load off of our court system. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
