Does anyone have the skinny on Bahia Honda State Park in the Florida Keys. How is the nude area and where is it located?

There is no "legal" or santioned nude area like Haulover or other beaches. Just take care and be aware of your surroundings.

2 years ago my wife and i visted Bahia Honda, we stayed on Big Pine Key (I think, the one with those cute key deer). Bahia Honda IS very pretty, that is an understatement. For us, (europeans) it is just unbelievable that there is no nude beach out here. And I mean _decent_ nude beach, not one that is totally tucked out of the way with lurkers going about their thing in the back- or foreground.

We went several times to Boca Chica "nude" beach on Geiger Key, it was also quite pretty out there, met some very nice and friendly people (never mind the creeps going around doing their "thing"). At the time it was very shallow with rocky underground, not good for swimming. I now see from the FKN website (http://www.floridakeysnaturists.net) that the barricade has moved up quite some distance and there is more sand, wider beach area, and there are some plans for a volleynet. So check this beach out while you are in the area.

My son and I camped there 10-12 years ago. Watch out for the racoons. They will climb up your leg to steal your food if you let them.

Thank's Montana for the "skinny" on the "critter's". I'll make sure to pack the goodies in a safe place. Looking forward to the 7 Mile Bridge Run and a few days in the south Florida sun.
