http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gifI started by using Nair, and shaved when it ran out. My wife liked the look and feel of it, so I asked her if she wanted me to shave her. She did and liked the attention. She doesn't want me to shave her before she goes for a pelvic examination though! Go figure! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/confused.gif

I also hate body hair and get rid of it any chance I get. I have had the full body wax, and though it was painful the first time, it actually got better over time. However, due to the cost, I have gone back to shaving.

At first I shaved just about every day because I didn't want to see the stuble. Now that I have a nice all-over tan, the stubble is not noticable for a couple of days now so I don't have to shave as often. I also have to get my wife to help with the areas that are not reachable

I am hairy ,and love it. I would never even think of removing it. It is who I am naturally, and what I look like when nude.

I've thought about shaving, but that would create a problem. I have a very hairy chest and hairy legs. My ladyfriend likes to play with the hair on my chest. If I shaved the pubic area, it would look funny, a clearing in the forest.

Any thoughts?

hi there all. Yes a female, and yes I do shave.

I find as you all say it looks nicer and I find it is much nicer looking. At times I will let a bit grow and have a streak of hair or maybe pattern it a little. But in general shaving looks much better. I also think this on men.

I did find that shaving did itch the first few times but then for some reason it stoped itching and now I have no problems with it.

I do have a question for you guys though. I want my bf to shave, we have tried once but it was to hard. I want to know how do you shave around the balls with out hurting them or cutting them at all. Please help. lol I really want to shave him as I hate the hair and it does look much better and more distinct without the hair.

I shave around the ball sac with the same triple-edged razor I use on the rest of my pub area. Have to stretch the ball sac skin so that it is smooth for best results. DON'T TRY IT WITH AN ELECTRIC RAZOR. It's easiest in the summer when the balls really want to be there to help smooth out the skin by their presence. Gets more difficult in the winter. Seldom if ever cut myself on the ball sac. Whereas, the stiff pub hairs often cause razor bounce that causes some cutting. Often preshave that area with an electric to help prevent this, as I do on my chin and mustache area where the hairs are really stiff. Had to wash blood out of some shorts yesterday due to blood getting on them.

It really is easier shaving as a female, there is less to have to worry about cutting, you just sort of do it and it is done. You dont have to worry as much about what you might cut as you have this nice rounded smooth area, with no dangly bits in the way. Boy I am greatful for being female. lol. The only thing I get a problem with is the ingrown hairs and occassional rash from it.

You should try Veat a delapitory for the genitals.
It works well without irritating the scotum and penis.

Well I hope they changed the formula; I used regular Nair many years ago on the base of the penis and scrotal sacks and before the recommended couple of minutes, it felt and smelled like someone was holding a lit Zippo lighter down there.

Anything chemically that dissolves hair without chemical burning sensitive skin must be something new. I would sure do a test patch in another area of sensitive skin prior to trying "Nair for men" or "Veat"

And if like the warning from Nair attached below I would not attempt to use on the scrotal sacks, penis or genital areas as they warn Not To!

I found a site with product information on the brand name of “Veet”. It’s a woman’s product of various methods of hair removal, shaving, and waxing with creams, mousse, and strips.

It didn’t mention or have warnings against genital area use, and doesn't mention the product could be used by or for men.

The same a Nair for Men, I would not use a product on or near the genitals, scrotal area, or near the female genitals area, and wouldn't think about it if the product manufacture doesn't mention it or have any warning about use of the product.

Tried the smooth look once. Found that my scrotum was always sticking to my thigh. Was constantly adjusting and prying things apart. Really didn't care for it.

So, do what works for you, but for me, I'll take nature's anti-stick barrier of hair and be far more comfortable.

I tried one of these hair removal creams once on myself around my groin area. I actually had a problem with it. I did the whole skin test and hod no issues then when I applied it around the vagina area/ groin area I actually ended up being burnt from it. I did it less time than it said to and well I guess I was unlucky.

Having found an electric shaver irritating, I just use a cheap disposable razor and a shaving gel. I only shave my balls and around the base of my penis, (sort of half-and-half), and know what works for me after many years. Wash with soap and warm water first and leave the area wet, before putting on the shaving gel. Then pull the tip of the penis upwards and hold it against the body. This way, it is very easy to shave the base and lower part of the shaft of the penis, and the scrotum as well. One or two strokes should do it, and I have found the scrotum easier to shave going out from the center towards the legs (direction of hair growth, I guess). Afterwards, you can use an aftershave balm for sensitive skin (Avena makes an excellent product) and their is no irritation.

I don't shave the pubic hair above my penis (call it a half-and-half), so I don't really know about that coarser hair above the genitals. I would think a preshave with an electric shaver or beard/moustache trimmer prior to actual shaving would help.

I have very rarely seen men at our nude beach who are completely smooth, but have seen many men trimmed as I do, with pubic hair above the penis and a smooth scrotum.

That is how I do it also (NorthVanNudist). I use a cheap disposable razor also, but I have always done it dry. I leave the hair above my penis alone. I love the feeling of smooth balls and my wife does too!

I tried the fill smoothie thing once and really did not like it much. I have a problem with heat however and could not continue with a ton of hair like I did in my youth. Now I shave my scrotum and trim the rest. I find it comfortable this way. I never use water, and I use a straight razor. I know that sounds scary, but if you are a purist like me - it is the only way to go.

I keep my head trimmed to a .32 of an inch, just enough traction to keep my hat on while working. I have this chest and belly fur that I leave alone as well.

I had a hernia operation once and had to be completly shaved. What a horror, I looked like a newborn baby when I go to my nudist resort in the winter in Fla. I just trim it, it also get rid of some of the gray but be careful around the scrotem it can be very painful if you miss.

I shave 2 to 3 times per week. I also shave dry by powdering everything with baby powder then use a 3 blade razor. The dry shave works better for me, because if you wet your skin it will swell up a little bit and this seems to cause more ingrown hairs.

Started shaving a couple of weeks ago and I really dont know why as I am 68 and never shaved before. I used a Gillette vibrating 3 blade razor and shaved shank of penis and balls. I left the mat of pubic hair above genitals although I did shorten it a bit. Was itchy for a couple of days but wife likes look and so do I. Have started doing shave about every 3 days. Will probably continue and wish I had done this 40 years ago.

I, too, love being smooth ... I started getting waxed because of uneven and patchy body hair - if I had a different hair-growth pattern and fier body hair I might not have bothered..
I am fortunate to have found a beautician, where she doesn't mind giving me an all-over waxing every 12 - 13 weeks (you need alittle regrowth for successful waxing, and it actually regrow less after a few times ..).
And a little bit of pain every so often ? "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" !!

I shaved once a long time ago and didn't like all the itching and let it grow back out. A few years ago I plucked instead but started having problems with ingrown hairs.

I found a product on the interent which is almost like electrolysis and I'm going to try that when I can afford it. It's about $100 for the kit which includes the electronic zapper, various sizes of pads, and gel. They claim that after three treatments you should be hair-free forever.

I have had electrolysis done just between the eyes... the good ole unibrow. Just that small of an area took three times and there is still some hairs left. The place that I work at does it and the way it sounds what it takes for the professional machine to do it probably would take this home kit years to do. If the current isn't strong enough it may not kill it the first time or the second or the... I'm thinking it's too good to be true. The face is uncomfortable enough but down there. oww baby

Too funny! You do indeed have the touch! I look forward to jnudist's response.

On a personal note, I mentioned before that I tried shaving my torso and bits, but didn't care for it. I have since given up all shaving of my head region....haven't done it for at least 2 years. I found my old dog clippers! I now attack my face and head with the closest setting twice a month. In between I go from scruffy to that sexy 2 day's growth (beard shadow) which some also think is scruffy but is popular amongst our pop stars. I am one of those fortunate old men who still has a full head of hair so that is probably why it doesn't bother me to shave it all off. No every day shaving, no hair care expenses and it is cooling to the braincase. It did change my hat size though.

The only parts of my torso I enjoyed shaved were my arm pits. Much nicer that is! Dog clippers it is!

Yep. The beard always goes first. In my case the head soon followed (I am now glancing down...damn.) Nevermind. I wish you bon chance with your head hair! Both my grandfathers had full heads of pure white hair. Very distinguished. I am taking after my father with salt n pepper. I shall continue with my dog clippers. I really, really dislike shaving and I love the breezes on my head. I figure I'm old enough to be a bit eccentric (please?).

30 years with a beard eh? If you don't mind my asking, how old were you when you started it. I wore a mustash for a long time starting at 22. I grew my first beard at 35. I do not have thick facial hair much to my dismay. But I forged ahead and let it grow long enough to cover the thin bits. At 45 or so, I had to renew my Irish passport and they insisted that I decide to be bearded or not for this photo. I then began a regimen of shaving my face every day while traveling. At home I went back and forth. I was wishy-washy. No longer thanks to the Dog Clippers I am decisive!

I would love to know how a smooth clean body would look and feel on me. But, alas, I am one hairy ape from head to toe. Had a full beard at 15. I would never be able to get rid of all of this hair! When I was younger it was cool to be so hairy. Not so much any more. I'm at the "gray stage" now so the beard has been out for a long time. I'm resigned to shaving daily--sometimes even twice, if I'm going out for a special evening. An electric razor is useless in my case, I have always had to use a blade and shaving cream.

30 years with a beard eh? If you don't mind my asking, how old were you when you started it. .

I grew first beard for a beard-growing contest in local town around 1961 and was suprised when I was able to grow a pretty fair beard even though I have fine blonde hair everywhere else. That would have put me about 23. When the long hair rebellion came in in the late 60's I was somewhat of a rebellious teacher who couldnt for the life of me grow long hair on my head. So for my "hippy look" I grew my beard back which was frowned on at the time by the local school board.

My wife didnt mind the look of it so kept it for about 30 years when grey appeared in it (the only place on my body where the hair was a tad darker), vanity took over and beard was gone. My daughter who was about 35 at time had never seen me beardless.

Rest of body still has no grey although I am 68 and I notice my father who is still well at 90 had the same hair as me and I never noticed it growing grey but it is now white.

With shaving the pubic hair I guess I will never know when it turns grey but I sure like the airy feeling of being naked down there.

I really enjoy your posts, Liam - keep up good work.

Actually, for me, that was almost 50 years ago. That's a lot of hair down the drain! I wish I had stock in a razor company as well. Upside: I always looked older than I was and it got me into some pretty neat places early. Downside: I had to carry a birth certificate with me through out high school to prove I wasn't older than I was, so I could compete in some sporting events. Go figure.

When I was younger, I completely shaved my entire putic region on a few occasions, probably out of boredom more than anything else. Two or three years ago I discovered gray hairs on my balls and decided they had to go. Now I shave my srotum and the base regulary. Every couple of months I'll take electric clippers and trim pubic and chest hair.

I could never shave everything and be a "smoothie." I just shave my shaft and ball sac. It is something I have to do about twice a week. I use a regular razor and it seems to work fine.

I have attempted to quit shaving in the pubic region altogether, but the regrowth is something I just do not enjoy going through.
