I knew she had been ill for a while. I just didn't know how ill. I am going to miss her.

I was not aware that she had been ill. I will miss her greatly.
The country needs her now more than ever.

A sharp Texas Wit indeed...she finally lost her long battle with breast cancer...
I admit that I never cared for Molly Ivins, but I'm sorry to learn that she became a casualty to cancer.
My hatred of cancer is far more intense than any difference in views between Ms. Ivins and I, or for that matter, any animosity that I may have for any fellow human being.
Cancer is a horrible disease which kills without regard of its victim's political views, race, religion, socio-economic status or sexual gender.
Any cancer-related death should serve as a reminder of the importance of cancer research and instill in all of us, the hope that someday soon, cancer will no longer be the killer that it is today.
Ms.Ivins, if you knew me, you probably wouldn't expect me to say this, but I hope that you are resting peacefully in an eternity that if free of any suffering.

What? I do not think that she will be reading this anytine soon. Good grief!
This is so sad to hear. I have loved reading Molly's writings. Her wit is unsurpassed and her facts are hardline. She will be truly missed.

Was she predominantly an American social commentator? I have to say, I haven't heard of her, but anyone's passing is a sad event

Molly Ivins was journalist who turned to opinion writing and being a columnist in Texas. Not only was she witty, but an unabashed liberal. She helped clean up Texas politics, and was outspoken on the national scene as well.
It's going to be hard to read the editorial page of my local paper knowing that I won't have Molly's column to look forward to any more.

One of my favorite commentators. A big loss for Texas.
Only the good die young.
This is a setback for those of us who know this country has been heading in the wrong direction.
As one with a wife and mother with breast cancer, I can only say that we all greatly suffer every time news like this arrives. It's a big loss for us all, WacoTX. Bless...
