Does anyone know of any good saunas in Munich that also have naturist swimming ?
Does the Olympic pool (non naturist swimming) have mixed or single sex (or both) sessions in the sauna ?

There is a huge sauna and swimming pool complex at Therma Erding to the north of Munich. Easily reached by public transport. For the sauna area it is nude only(as is the case in all German saunas), whilst the swimming pool is clothing optional. Not been there myself, but hope to in the near future. Maybe next year.

I have been to and highly recommend the Therma-Erding.
As I have mentioned in previous post it is split into two sides. One for families and the other for adults 16 and over. That is called the Sauna-Paradise. Several saunas of different temps and arromas. Mineral pool for floating and relaxing. Pool outside and in. Natually heated from thermal springs. Sunbathing areas inside and out.
They were in the middle of expanding it the last time I was there, that was about a year ago. So don't know what how it turned out.
As stated there is an S-bahn train that goes to Erding. But you will want to get off and the second to last stop called Alterding. It will be about a 15 minute walk. Look for the signs.
Cheers
Can anyone confirm that "nur textilfrei" means ? I assume it is only textile free - in otherwords nudity obligatory.

The translation is correct, but in fact no one needs to bare it all as you always have to sit on towels and you are free to wrap it around you.
But the norm is to just sit on the towel - nude.
Although it may be the case that no one needs to bare all, as a naturist I was rather expecting that being bare would be the norm. Use towels to sit on and then carry them around, in your hand not around your waist.
Ideally this will be somewhere where such total body freedom will be allowed.

Having been to the Therme-Erding several times, most wrap a towel or put on a robe when moving about. However if you want to carry your towel are hang loose that is acceptable.
Everyone is nude in the saunas, pools, steam baths. Only sitting on towels or mats provided for the steam baths.
You want to go to the Sauna-Paradise side of the facility. You can also use the family side (clothed) if you go in through there.
Flybare and I are one in the same.
Well I made to the the Therme Erding and it was absolutely superb, by far the best facility I have ever been to. Not truly naturist but with a totally relaxed attitude towards nudity, I am looking forward to a return visit.

I've been a couple of times to the new (revamped) Sauna-Paradise at Therme-Erding and it's excellent. It's had a huge indoor/outdoor pool added, as well as extensive sun-lounging area and terraces, plus another fifteen saunas and pools, it's quite brilliant. There are always people moving around naked, as well as swimming naked, so complete nudity is completely ok throughout the entire area. The slightly more old-fashioned types tend to drape a robe on when wandering around, as do those who are just coming across, from the clothed swimming areas, for an old-fashioned gawp. The more naked people who go and wander around, the better, it's the only way to progress. I make a point of it ;-)

It is very comfortable to sweat out in a robe after the sauna. If you cool down at once, you will sweat in your clothes when you leave. Therefore the robe.
All german saunas are nude, and you are free too relax nude, but sometimes it is good to keep warm for a while.

I did notice a handful of people in costumes, I assumed they were nudists who had gone to the clothed side thought the loud obnoxious youths in knee length shorts looked more like Turkish gawkers. Not sure what happened to them - was rather hopeful that they would be forced to leave - without said shorts !
