Bart - I love the avatars, and enjoy changing mine from time to time as the bug bites or the season changes.

When time is hanging heavy on your hands, and you're wishing there was something that you could be doing [ /infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ], it would be nice to have a larger selection of avatars that directly reflect naturism. The ones that are there now are excellent, but some fresh variety would be a good addition.

Thanks. You guys are doing a great job.

I like that idea too!!

In addition, if there was a way to make it easier to add a personal avitar, you know if you wanted to have somthing unique. Is there a way to do that or am I over the edge /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

E-mail or mail a photo to INA. They will make it the right size for an avatar and send it back to you with a URL address. Be sure to ask them for instructions on how to use it. They sent it back to me without any instructions as to what to do with it, and I had a heck of a time. You can, of course, use one of their avatars in your profile unless you want your own photo as I've done. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

This isn't a suggestion, more of a problem, really. I just don't know where else to post it. How do I get a picture avatar of me up and going? I've tried many times and it'll stick for a few minutes but then it's gone. I think the file is small enough- I use the same avatar at other sites that require a small avatar- so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I realize this isn't a major issue in the world, but I'd sure like some help so I know what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it.

Thank you,
Melissa

Send a photo of yourself, clothed or nude, to: clothesfree@clothesfree.com. They will be happy to assist you with your profile photo and/or avatar photo. I tried it on my own as well, but to no avail. Good luck. /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Hi..Go into view/edit profile then click on View/Update Your Profile then click on Select a different Avatar Image then select custom URL and then just type in the address for you avatar. You have to have the image somewhere on the net, I have mine at naturalandnude.com and my wording reads that I put in the box is http://www.naturalandnude.com/3balanim.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif They should be around 50X50 ..Have a great one..NoodJuggler

You do not have to contact INA to update your avatar anymore! You can upload a custom avatar yourself and update it as often as you would like to.

Although we do not require your avatar to be a specific size, I would like to ask for everyone to make sure that their avatar is not too big. The import of the older forums grabbed the larger photos and used them for avatars. Please resize your avatars so that they are about 100X100 pixels. When I see a large avatar that makes the forums have a horizontal scroll bar, I'll delete the avatar so that others can view the forums properly.

Thanks!

I noticed you deleted my avatar, due to the size. Now the question, how do I change it? Not being computer literate, a little help would sure be nice. Thanks, because I wanted to change it anyway, but now I need to know how to do it. Thanks.

06-15-2004, 09:17 PM
Hello nudeM,

I'd be glad to assist. You will need to follow these instructions to update your avatar:

Go to MySpace (http://clothesfreeforums.com/eve/myspace) (also found in the Go menu)
Select Profile
Choose Edit Profile in the upper right corner
Within your profile settings, you will see an edit button to change your avatar. This is about half way down the page.
Now you can choose a stock avatar to use, or click the Custom Avatar link at the top.
If you are choosing a stock avatar, make sure you hit the Select This One button and save your changes. You will need to make a post for your avatar to update in the forums.

If you are choosing a custom avatar, you will have the option to enter a URL or browse your computer for a file. Use this option after resizing and croping your favorite image to about 100 X 100 pixels. You can do that in a program like PhotoShop.

Let me know if part of this is unclear. Sorry for deleteing the old photo. It was too large for the forums... I'll be happy to assist you with your avatar. Feel free to email me or reply to this topic.

I know next to nothing about computers. They perplex me. I have no idea how to re-size photos. The avatar I have now isn't the one one I meant to use. I sent in the wrong photo instead of the one I meant to send.

I sent in two different photos in an effort to get my avatar changed, and nothing has happened. Originally, I sent in a photo, and it was re-sized and sent back to me with a URL so that I could post it. I have absolutely NO idea how to do any of that myself.

This oversized photo that keeps getting posted isn't my doing. In the old format it was just my head, which was bad enough since I don't like the photo. I look like I'm half asleep or drunk; I was half asleep.

Mainly I want to see a person's face. If they can't or don't want to add a face, I don't care to see a headless body, nude or dressed. I especially like outdoor photos with the person nude. I would like to get a nude outdoor photo of myself that I like well enough to post, but cameras are taboo here at TLR. I shaved off my beard and just have a mustache, and I'm letting my hair grow longer and want to get an up-to-date photo. Maybe I'll sneak a photo outside during the week when there's hardly anyone around to complain during one of our rare warm sunny days. I sneaked the photo I use as my avatar when I was the only one in the clubhouse.

Reading the posts here it becomes obvious that aside from the usual gender imbalance (m:f ratio) there is also a significant difference in choice of avatar. I recall one female saying that she removed her photo because of too many PMs. Is that why you changed yours? Any other women have comments on this? I can't say that I've seen any women with nude avatars since you changed yours. Heck, even the the 'nudecaster' that recently started posting has a clothed avatar in spite of her being nude in about half of the photos of the day.

It would be very useful if the avatar upload function had an 'auto-resize' selection that limited the width of an avatar to a default number of pixels. Then the vertical diver wouldn't be jumping in and out and it would all look a little more cleaner. Ah well.

Maybe an option that missing from the poll is "photo/drawing of 'anonymous' nude(s)'. The default avatar set includes a number of 'anonymous' nudes, and some people also pick such images from the net. I think that is perfectly fine, just as well.

It really doesn't matter to me, clothed or not, but there are some very obvious reasons why some prefer not to post any type of photo of themselves.

Being a nudist forum, obviously, a nude photo would be preferred. But for personal reasons, a clothed one would suffice just as good. Just as long as there is a face to associate a name with.

There are those who prefer not to post anything but a cartoon or a landscape photograph. Not a face, but at least, it kind of gives you the type of personality of the person whom you are 'talking' to.

I'll get my avatar put up someday, as soon as I can remember how I did it a long time ago. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

CTYankee.. from Barbararuth..

I did not choose to remove my nude avatar because of too many PMs, although I did receive many, many messages. I chose to remove it because I recently accepted a high level position with an Orlando theme park and I chose to remain anonymous. I do not use my middle name (Ruth) at work and there must be a zillion Barbara's there! If some day I sense a relaxing in corporate policy.. or better-yet become CEO.. I may change my mind, but for now, this is best for me.

I do not know why many other females choose not to display nude avatars, although we have all seen some very tasteful ones. Everyone has their own reason for displaying what they feel is appropriate for them.

I prefer a photo avatar, either clothed or nude with a face. When I correspond with someone, I correspond with the face and the brain, not a torso or other body parts.

I can understand when females do not post a photo showing themselves, as the number of men hitting on them would be outrageous.

Whatever one puts up it is an extension of the person. It gives a little insight to the person as it is chosen by the person and not some automated thing. So whatvere is there, I will make assumptions about the person. As I read the posts, sometimes the assumptions become fact and I gather more information about the person.

That said, I will look forward to seeing others as they post avatars!

04-14-2005, 09:13 AM
I have noticed that when the person posting a photo is a teen or young adult, male or female, or an attractive woman, that they are inundated with e-mails and posted comments about their body parts (their size, shape and position), and I find that very strange in what is SUPPOSED to be a naturist Web site.

It makes me question how many here are truly naturists/nudists and how many are creeps looking for someone to hit on online.

I can't imagine making ANY comment on a guy's penis. What do I care what position it's in as long as it isn't erect? What do I care if a woman's nipples are erect; it's not as noticeable as an erect penis. What do I care about the size and shape of ANY body part?

ALL I care about is being nude as much as possible, and discussing that love with other like-minded people who don't e-mail me asking for close-up photos of my penis like one weirdo did. Sick people like that need to go somewhere other than in a nudist/naturist forum.

ok, so I decided to take the road less traveled. There was unfortunatly no choice forgeneral graphic, or artwork, so I had to chose cartoon. As someone said, an avitar is an expresion of who we are. you all already know that I am a twnty-something male naturist, so what more does a photo tell you? Also, i would prefer people concentrate on what I say, not what I look like. I do like creativity in an avitar, whether it be a cool drawing, an interestingly posed photo, or something of personal significance.

Plus I do not have any nude photos of myself, and not to many clothed.

I'm new to this forum and don't yet have an avatar at all yet, but with this being a naturist forum I suppose that I would vote for a nude picture as a requirement, after all why wouldn't you want fellow naturists to see you naked. My only reservation is that it's not only naturists that have access to the site, anyone can view the personal details and picture. I think I'll go for a nude avatar as soon as I have a good picture to post, I'm basically happy to be seen nude.

My avatar is the symbol of the "IDIC" which stands for "Infinite Diversity, Infinite Combinations." This may sound a little nerdy, but it's a Vulcan philosophy (from Star Trek), that I think fits in nicely with the principles of naturism. It's basically about cooperation and accepting others despite differences in appearance, beliefs, and abilities.

I may change my avatar to an actual pic of myself, when I have a pic of myself that I like. lol

Well, I see it this way. If this website forum, was a nudists beach or a naturists resort and somebody new to this lifestyle came to visit, would you put back on your clothes. I feel that this is a naturist forum and the old saying goes: "When in Rome!". I understand what you saying Rebecca, and yes you right. Being a minor and posting a nude avatar needs to be handle with care. But, the way your avatar looks, from a back angle is very tasteful and that also goes for Laura avatar as well.
As for me, body acceptance is the background of my avatar and with out that, I don't think it would be a frontal view.

I must be the odd duck here (QUACK)

I actually prefer reading posts without seeing an avitar that is a photo of the poster. No matter how hard any of us try, a person's appearance does influence what they say. By reading a photoless post I can more easily concentrate on the post itself. (This doesn't mean that I don't like seeing pictures ofpeople ..just not next to their posts).

No, minors cannot post full (frontal) nude photos here, nor publish any personal contact info (e-mail, instant messaging ID, etc) because of the legalities involved with that sort of thing and online services & communities.

Corkey,
Can you please resize mine as it is a picture from a long time ago and at least others will have an idea of what I looked like then. No current picture available that I am comfortable with putting on the internet.
Thanks for your time.

That's okay Corkey. I worked on it and I think I have it to an acceptable size now.

Equality isn't the issue here. Like you said rules are rules. There are rules in all aspects of life, and there are rules governing minors until they reach a certain age, such as in driving, voting, drinking, etc. It's no different here.

Yes we are aware of the laws. But just because something is legal doesn't mean it is acceptable here.

Not to sound blunt, but the bottom line is that the INA is a private organization and can impose whatever rules they wish here.
Hypocritical or no, it's still the rules. You are free to express yourself in many other ways besides a fully nude photo of yourself.

I've been visiting this site for a few days now, and I finally decided to join.

Seeing a lot of different avatars, I must say I prefer a picture of the person clothed or nude (but no huge pictures) with a smile on their face. Although some of the "cartoon" ones are pretty creative!

The best avatars are the ones that make it seem like your having a conversation with the person.

As stated in previous posts in this thread, there is a difference in a "Miner" and a "Minor"

Miner's usually work underground or mining something.

Minor's are of not legal age or those under 18 years of age.

Check the meaning in your dictionary.

I much prefer a nude picture of the real person. Doesn't have to show their face but I'd like to believe that they'd post a real picture of themselves.

Graphics and cartoon avatars are okay. I have one of the on another site we are members of, only because it's a couples site and the Prof isn't ready to post a nude picture of herself just yet.

I think my wife is getting used to seeing my backside as my avatar on here and in the near future, I should be posting a frontal picture of myself. Hopefully some of our pictures from Club Orient will be good enough to post of me and maybe the Prof. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Aaron you asked to moderator to resize the existing avatar to 150 x 150. The circle was oblong so it perspective was reduced [height] to make the "Fnog" circle round. Your original avatar was very dark only showing the the center, it was enhance to show the rest of the features of the image. If you do not like it just go in your profile and delete it or the moderator can darken it if you want. When you reduce the pixel size you do loose some quality.

I agree with car/buff. I like the way Ben's avatars keep changing. I wish I had the photos where I could do that. Ben doesn't have a nudist resort to go to in his area, but he's able to take far more nude photos than I can with me living IN a nudist resort. They're so paranoid about cameras here that I can only take photos inside my trailer or risk being caught doing it outside. I've already been told once by the manager to keep my camera indoors because of the complaints from my paranoid neighbors.

Freb2nude: Yes You are in the point but there is two problemzzzz. First is something like fear that "but what if my she-boss somehow find me in this site and recognize and fire in anger". Second is more rational sensitivity something like this "what if certain pornseeker find me there and make a global business worldwide so my face came into everyone newspaper first page".

Personally I solved that simply with an option named: freehand lasso->get smart desharp mask->Gaussian blur->set both Gaussian parameters about 80%->enter->repeat it again in bit wider area. The results of similar procedure You can see my face under magnification in my avatar here. Enjoy it...

I remember one story about certain University at Oldie Goodie England. Near of University was then river-bank what eagerly was used by students to get a whole-body tan in the dinner time. After place was noticed by tutors, many even of them get together to get a "beauty at sinful body-place".

Yet happened that this was told to church charity ladies of that town and, the sad side of story, that this charity organisation was actually the biggest donation source for those University, thought, pure money relations.

So, those madames procession whole in dark long schleife-gowns came by the field toward the naked bunch of students and proffessors to check is that "unbelievable sinful attitude" in their "money use" is the fact.

You know what escaped to cover the proffessors having nothing but the hands? THE FACE...

Explaining later - in THIS town everyone recognize me BY THE FACE not by geniatalia, true to tell.

I have been inspired to do like some of the other members of this forum and periodically change my avatar. Of course, my original avatar featured me on a bicycle, which made more sense with my user name.

My wife once showed me a Cosmopolitan magazine article titled "He posted naked pictures of me on the Internet." So, I won't even bother asking her if she'll approve of me using as an avatar a picture that includes her.

First I'd like to say thanks to the four ladies who have voiced their opinions on this section of the forum and for supplying avatars, the ones of Rebecca and Laura Lopez are very beautiful and very tasteful. I wish more ladies would join in, as always it's very one sided. I'm quite happy to have a totally nude full frontal avatar if I knew for certain that the site was only accessible to genuine naturists, in fact I think that I'd prefer it that way. But, as it is anyone at all can visit the site and view our intimate pictures, and place them anywhere they want on the internet.

I suggess You to apply a bit photoshop correction to Your avatar gamma. Open the PhotoStudioV5.0->enchance->tone adjustment->midtones->lessen 20 or 30%. After that, perhaps, apply enchance->brightness&contrast->contrast rise by 20 or 30% and enchance->hue&saturation->satureation 20% raise up.

Then it shall looks excellent. Allready I checked it on Your avatar. Helped.

I also prefer to see a person's face first of all and then it is preferable that the photo is of them nude and engaged in their hobby if at all possible. That gives a better idea of who they are.

I would love to post a nude avatar of me but as I am relatively new, I want to build up a bit more confidence before I do that. Hope you understand. The nearest nude beach let alone resort is in another country so I think that it the first important hurdle to be crossed. Hope you all understand.

Hi Rebecca,

Posting a nude avatar from which the person can be identified is something that carries a bit of risk with it in the society that we live. The vast majority of our neighbors, and the people that we need to interact with, do not understand naturism, plus it is not unheard of to copy a picture and post it in another site without approval (like for example a porn site).

That being said, there is a legal age at which an individual is allowed to make their own decisions without the approval and advice of their parents or guardians. Far be it from me to say whether people are actually all grown up before that age, and that age should be lower. I have no idea.

But the law defines the age when people are adults, and in my opinion this a serious enough decision that the permission of a parent or guardian should be required for underage participants.

You will notice how many (older) people have chosen not to post nude avatars. Of course some of them just have not gotten around to the photography. But a large number of the people who do not post identifiable nude avatars have made that choice based upon the various risks that they believe exist.

Some people have mentioned the problem of pretty young women being flooded with PMs. This I think that you could deal with if you wanted to. But having your photo end up on a porn site, and then somehow getting known to someone who is able to affect the opportunities that you will be presented in your life, this is serious stuff.

I think teens are still vulnerable to pedophiles and stalkers and so on. You see so much in the news on how the "child" can be found based on a few posts or chat sessions. It is much easier to find the person when you have a picture. As a parent, I will NOT allow my children to post any pictures until they are older than 18, not even in their yahoo profiles.

You didn't get away with posting a partially nude or nude avatar.

Due to your age, two separate avatars you have posted have been deleted by the moderators, and you have been sent private messages as to why and a reminder to adhere to the terms of service agreement.

INA/Forums Terms of Service Link (http://clothesfreeforums.com/terms.html)

Remember if you’re under 18 years of age [A Minor] you cannot post a partially nude or nude avatar or image of other persons, or yourself.

State of Nudity or partially nude includes:

The showing of the human male or female genitals, pubic area, vulva, anus, anal cleft or cleavage with less than a fully opaque covering; the showing of the female breast with a less than fully opaque covering of any part of the areola; or the showing of the human male genitals in a discernibly turgid state, even if completely and opaquely covered.

I have had many avatars on this forum..then I took them off and now I am back on. As long as I do not disclose my real name, my phone number or address, I am OK. I imagine the only one that can do a photo-match is the FBI and, well, I have nothing to hide and they would find me anyway if I were hiding! I was also afraid that my boss would find out and somehow hold this against me, but I honestly don't think that would happen any longer.

I really think communicating with a photo brings you just a little closer to the group and makes the discussion a little more personal.

And if a future boyfriend or relative or boss happens to run across my picture.. and not appreciate what I have done..I guess they would just have to deal with it. I am my own person and my avatar is an extention of who I am.

It doesn't matter to me if someone posts a nude or clothed avatar. Mine is clothed as you can see. The only reason I won't post a nude avatar right now is that I wouldn't want to find my picture on some other site which wouldn't be appropriate. I do have some nude pics of myself and am willing to share with others on here if anyone wishes to see them. Basically it comes down to a matter of trust.

I too prefer an avatar that shows the person's face, but I can understand if some people want to retain their anonymity and use an animated cartoon instead. I can't really see the point of using a scenic photo though.

As long as the picture is small - big avatars can make the threads difficult to read, especially if someone with a really big avatar has posted several messages on one page.

Mine is a picture of me on a naturist beach - this is the way I enjoy naturism

I have been dating someone very special from another state...another nudist actually, and we both agreed not to even send nude photos via email...and our reasons are (have been) one never knows who maybe reading our emails (refering to Keylogers or bosses if either of us decide to quickly catch-up at work). Thus if we aren't willing to risk sending photos of ourselves in any form of nude state, it stands to reason not to post a pic of ourselves in the same method.

if you are using a windows pc, it comes with photo-edit. Load image, use resize (to about 20%) and save under a different name. Then reload the new image as your avatar.

One of the requests to CFF has been to make it such that avatars (what a strange word) are auto-downscaled to a fixed width or height (whichever exceeds a max # of pixels) so a) you don't have to worry, b) it all comes out much nicer on the screen. Nothing happened sofar if ever.....

To be honest, I don't really care in the long run. I think people here are a wee bit too enthusiastic in encouraging the photos, but whatever. I do have to admit, though, I have never seen so many people putting up face pictures -- to say nothing of the whole body naked -- in any website before on my travels on the internet.

With that said, I like my avatar. It's unique, at least here, anyway.

While it would be great to see the face of everyone who posts here, I understand why some people can't post a photo. Unfortunately some won't because they don't want us to know they're not who they claim to be. Some have posted a photo of someone else and claimed it was them.

Someone here or in another nudist Web site said that this is the one place where we can be honest and be ourselves, and yet some people want to pretend to be someone they're not. With me, what you see is what you get (Flip Wilson used to say that. Any one remember him?), although I think my photos make me look better than I actually do. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I took my avatar photo this last spring at Turtle Lake Resort in the clubhouse. I had to hide the camera so I wouldn't get caught with it.

I was alone in the clubhouse since I took the picture on a week day. I took the picture and then covered the camera with my towel while I finished the game. I was afraid someone would come in while I was using it and catch me using it. Cameras are as taboo there as open sex.

You'll have to download the images to your computer first, if your phone supports that. Read the manual http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Btw, if you are under 18 you may not post a nude photo of yourself without proof of your parent's permission to do so.

I've removed my avatar. I still think it a good idea to have them and still prefer a full frontal nude one with face, but, the site is too open to anyone with whatever intentions good or bad. If it was all genuine naturists with access then I'd be more than happy to show who I am. If everyone was honest, open and uninhibited wouldn't it be great. But that's living in cloud cuckoo land, and the world just ain't like that! So I'll stay as a mushroom.

On the main forum screen, click on "Profile" at the top menu area.

When your profile comes up, click on "View/Edit Complete Profile".

Scroll down to where it says "Avatar / Picture URL:". Click on "Edit" over to the right side.

When the Avatar Selection screen comes up, click on "Custom Avatar" at the top of the window. You can now enter the URL where you have uploaded the image to a web server or ftp server and then click on the "Update Avatar" button. You can also use the Upload Custom Avatar option if you want to transfer the image onto the message board's server.

They added some new code to the forum to resize oversized avatars. The new code may have some bugs yet, and I suspect it only changes how big your browser displays the image rather than the image file itself - so occasionally some strange mismatches in aspect ratio may happen.

Just guessing.

All avater resizing is done by myself or one of the moderators. I'm not aware of any new code that automatically adjusts or resizes the avatars.

I've noticed that sometimes my browser will initially load the new image size but still load the old image. That may be the cause of the distortion Fred is speaking of.

Seems that it affects one PC different from another. I have two side by side. Some areas where I have the problem it is fine on my wife's, but she has it happen in other areas, where I don't.

So to those of you having this problem, I really do not beleive that it has anything to do with your computers. It seems to have happened with the shout box and/or the new graemlins.

I sent an email off to Corky and Cory so maybe they can have Sandman look back into it.

Yep. I think what has happened is that the new software/patch resized some of the avatars, and some folks browsers have not yet loaded the new width x height values. That would cause the distortions encountered.

Refreshing the browser should do the trick.

Actually I should rephrase that...Refresh does work, but You need to refresh everytime and on every page.....

01-06-2006, 12:37 PM
It's not a bug that I can fix since it is part of the forum Groupee software. Groupee would have to fix it.

So we have two options...

1.) The old way: Meaning that there are no size restrictions in the system. This means that you will see huge avatars sometimes and the layout of the forums will be messed up whenever someone uses a large avatar. A side scroll bar often appears. This gets very annoying for people with smaller monitors and lower screen resolutions. It does not matter as much for those with large monitors and higher resolutions.

-OR-

2.) The new way: Meaning that all avatars are restricted to 140X140 pixels. This means that the system tries to resize the larger avatars so that layout is preserved and no side to side scroll will appear on any size monitor or resolution. This is the best options to preserve the layout and make the forum threads look the way they were designed to look. Unfortunately, there are a few people out there that have a browser that does not perform this task as it should. Often times, the pictures will look distorted, but hitting reload/refresh fixes this. If refresh/reload does not fix it, it probably means that you are using an older version of your browser. It's probably time for you to upgrade. I suggest using the latest version of Firefox located for free to download here: http://www.mozilla.com/

I think that option 2 is better. Fewer people will be affected by the drawbacks of option 2. More people are affected by bad layout with option 1.

I also think that Groupee is aware of a minor glitch in this code for some browsers and will be fixing this with the next big upgrade to the forum software.

Thanks!

Yes I am using IE tried the Mozilla/firefox at one time....I can't remember why but for some reason I got rid of it, and went back to Explorer

Also Sandman...Look at Woman in Naturism Forum...It seems that in this forum, that right column shows up in the threads where it doesn't elswhere

I tried it on Firefox and IE and only had a problem with IE.

Solution: Dump IE!

Dumping IE is one of the best things you can do for your computer. Seriously..

Well maybe I need to try again....I wish I could remember what the reason was that I went back to IE was, I just remember having some sort of issue with it (mozilla)

Refreshing the browser should do the trick. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
This doesn't fix it. I can be on a page that looked fine and if I come back to it later, there will be avatars that are now distorted that looked fine earlier.

You are right MJ....So either we (all users having a problem) have to fix something or INA needs to go back to the way it was before at least untill groupee fiixes the problem.

Anyone agree??????

I have tried Firefox and I keep coming back to MSIE. If a site doesn't work for the browser used by the vast majority of users, it needs to be fixed so it does.

One thing that does seem a bit odd is that an image will sometimes come in at full size and then it will resize as if there is an onload event firing. This could be why it doesn't work all of the time. I started Firefox and it just did that on this page.

I have developed some rather large websites and the sites had to work for as many browsers as it was practical to test for. Sometimes this meant leaving certain things out for compatibility reasons.

Telling people to use a browser that is being used by a fairly low percentage of users would never have been an option.

As you can see, my preferred avatar is facial and full nude.
It is who I am.
I believe in nudism and my avatar is my confirmation of my beliefs and myself.

I second what Barbararuth says. It's up to the individual. As for myself,I do like seeing the person's face though - it gives the human touch to cyberspace. I have no problem showing my face, but feel nudity is not necessary. It's totally cool that others have nude photos.

And yes, I think that's a great avatar Barbararuth http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

Well taking the advice of another I gave Firefox another shot, and installed it about a week ago.

So far I am VERY happy with it, and have experinced zero problems.

I like avatars showing people enjoying life the way we were from the start, naked, cold, wet, and wrinkled! Just the same way we looked after the Polar Bare Dip in last winter.

I had to change the color of my avatar from blue to green because we have had over 25 DAYS IN A ROW OF RAIN so everything is growing moss, I think I'm going to have to change my name to MOSSYHOMER! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/laugh.gif

I have also been using Firefox and it seems to work really good. What I like are the many extensions that are available.

I'd have to say an avatar is like a little form of self-expression so anything that you feel represent you. Or a self portait will work too. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/beam.gif

First, Firefox is the way to go, IMO. This resize issue is not an issue at all with Firefox. It is only an issue with some versions of Internet Explorer.

Second, if you want your avatar to always look the way it should look, make your avatar 140 X 140 pixels. Then the browser will not need to resize it.

Third, I plan to go through all of the stock avatars and make them 140 X 140 pixels. This way, the stock avatars will always look the way they should. You will need to fix your own custom avatars.

And last, Groupee will be perfecting this resize option in the future, for now... use Firefox or do a quick "Refresh" to see the avatars look the way they should look.

Thanks everyone!

I hated to have to change it again, I liked the last picture, but felt I had to look over my shoulder too much and most of my family is still not cool with my nudity, and the wife dosen't like me sharing me.

Nice picture.
It's great to have several pics to use for your avatar.
Currently, my only pics are from inside my home.
Hopefully when the weather gets warmer, I can get a few good pics from the outdoors.

I agree it's nice to put a face,or real photo to the poster. I think anyone who claims to be a nudist should have no problem posting a personal avatar or photo album. If you feel you want to remain anonymous be selective with the photo you use.

As far as I'm concerned, it depends. Take mine for instance; the Smirk from the 2005 Bon Jovi album. I used that because that's one of my favorite CD's, and it tells a little bit about me (very little).

I would suggest using an avatar that describes you. If it's a picture, nude or clothed, it's your choice. No one knows you better than you.

I think a photo is much better than total anonymity - you don't have to show your face if you don't want to.
