I just told my dad I wanted to go to a clothes-optional resort he said he might take me but, he would have to loose weight first. I've tried to get my dad to loose weight for years & he hasn't done it, so that isn't an option. How should I convince him that no one cares if he's fat or not?

please have your father check out this web-site. if he did not freak about you wanting to go to a resort, than he probably can handle looking at the pictures on this site. he will quickly see that normal people are often overweight and will soon be comfortable with himself. also, there is a current post about weight/size and nudists that he might find interesting...
good luck, sounds like a good start. is he ok with you being naked around the house?? /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
Tell your dad that there are a lot of nudists who are VERY large who don't care who sees them, and that no one else cares either. There are nudists with all kinds of physical problems and deformities who have learned to accept their bodies as they are. I saw a man who couldn't walk without crutches at one resort. Nudism is about first accepting one's own body no matter how it looks, and then accepting others' nude bodies, and then just enjoying the freedom of being without clothes.

There are a lot of responses on this same subject under "is it alright to be fat and nude". Check out the responses. I hope we are not going to get a lot of "duplicate" answers on this same subject.
Moderators: Can this thread be combined with the thread I mentioned?

arakel, I'm wondering how much your father is into nudism. How did he tell you that he might take you? Was there anything other than a genuine tone in his voice? He may not be interested in it and is just using his weight as an excuse to not go easpecialy if he's had no interest in losing weight in the past.
I would have a serious talk with him about how interested he is in taking you to a CO park and tell him if he really wants to take you or if he was just leading you on so as to not let you down.

More than likely the weight is just an excuse for not going. Many men and women who are grossly overweight go to nude places and enjoy themselves without worrying about their weight.
Trevor, don't encourage your dad to use his weight as an excuse. Let him know that no one else will care. Once he gets there, he will truly enjoy himself--especially if he gets nude. /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
