Nude places near Houston, TX

It looks like I will be spending a lot of time around Houston on business the next 2 years. Does anyone have any recommendation on resorts that are singles friendly or nude beaches? I have been to Bolivar Beach a few times so I am aware of conditions there. How is South Padre Island? I would prefer a resort.

The Lone Star resort is on FM 362 southeast of Navasota, TX and not of Hemstead. I heard it is new with nice clean facilities. Then there is the Live Oak Resort which is also near Navasota.

In another thread (http://clothesfreeforums.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3600016152/m/3290038383/r/9700049383#9700049383) here, I listed the 5 AANR affiliated landed clubs that are within 130 miles of Houston. They are:

1) Emerald Lake Resort (http://www.emeraldlakeresort.com/) is about 26 miles north of Houston on Hwy 59, at Porter, TX.
They've got a big outdoor Hot Tub that overlooks their 12 acre spring-fed lake. They've also got a smaller Hot Tub on an enclosed porch of the club house.

2) Natural Horisun (http://www.naturalhorisun.com/) is about 55 miles south-west of Houston, at Boling, TX.
They've got a nice outdoor Pool and Hot Tub.

3) Acorn Acres Resort (http://www.acornacresnudistresort.com/) is about 55 miles south-west of Houston, at Boling, TX.
They've got a nice outdoor Pool and large, covered Hot Tub (although sometimes they move the cover over part of the Pool).

4) Lone Star Resort (http://lonestarresort.com/) is about 73 miles north-west of Houston, at Navasota, TX.
They've got a nice outdoor Pool and Hot Tub, but they don't have a Club House, yet.

5) Star Ranch (http://www.starranch.net/) is about 130 miles north-west of Houston, at McDade, TX (~35 miles east of Austin).
This is the club where I'm a member, so I'm a bit biased about reccommending it. It's got a nice Outdoor Pool, plus a Heated Indoor Pool and Hot Tub.

If you have an AANR membership, these clubs will usually admit singles, especially if they're having a special event ... check their calendar of event. Hope this info helps!

That is the link on the American Association for Nude Recreation Southwest Region (http://www.aanr-sw.org/html/clubs.html) web site. The link from Veal Johnson's web site is the old one from before they registered the www.emeraldlakeresort.com (http://www.emeraldlakeresort.com) domain.

I just talked to Veal on the phone, and asked about the site access problem. He said the site has just been moved from one server to another, and there's apparently been a delay in the DNS updates for the new server IP address. He also said he changed the pointers on his site today, so www.vealj.com/nudist/ (http://www.vealj.com/nudist/) may not work tomorrow ... unless the DNS update happens tonight.

After the DNS problem is fixed, www.emeraldlakeresort.com (http://www.emeraldlakeresort.com) is the domain for the club, and Veal's site, www.vealj.com/nudist/ (http://www.vealj.com/nudist/), will also point to it again.

I've been to emerald lake several times and had enjoyable stays there. Has anybody been to either New Horizon or Acorn Acres. Thought I might give them a try since they both have pools (emerald does not). Any feedback?

Both Natural Horisun and Acorn Acres have nice swimming pools. On weekends that I'm on-call at work (and can't go all the way to Star Ranch), I usually go to Natural Horisun.

When were you planning to visit? I don't think either club has a heated pool. It'll probably be April or May before they warm up and become comfortable.

Will likely be down in the area in march, and might make a day visit then just to get some sun but will be looking forwards to the spring and summer also. Really trying to find some people in my age range (50's) for more socializing.

I was over at Natural Horisun today for their St. Patrick's Day fun, and Irish Potluck Dinner. It was a nice sunny day, and I ended up getting a bit of a sunburn on my chest and upper arms - used SPF 30 instead of SPF 45 sunscreen. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/shocked.gif

Their pool temperature is probably somewhere in the mid-to-upper 70's (°F), but there was at least one guy who went in swimming. Must be one of those northern polar bares. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wink3.gif
