We're thinking about going to Riva Bella in 2008. Was wondering if anyone had been there. This place is in the Med sea near Spain. They have some pretty nice facilities. Some friends of ours went there a few years back and loved it. We wanted to make sure our kids would not go crazy there.

E' bella!

Ok, from my Italian contacts, Riva Bella is very nice. While I was in Sardinia there was a large storm over Corsica, so I did not take the ferry over to the island, but as far as I know, this is a very nice location. The other locations to visit are found at: http://chalfontholidays.co.uk/corsica/info.htm

have fun. That may be my next location in Europe (the non police state of the world.)

Corsica is a beautiful island, but remember a Corse is not a frenchmen, he is Corse!

We visited Riva Bella a few years ago. We were sort of on the front end of the season (3rd week of June, I think) but I have to say, it was not very kid friendly when we were there (without kids). Not that there was anything inappropriate, but the resort seemed to be catering to an older clientele. Had our kids been there, we would have been worried about them making too much noise.

We went back to Corsica the next year WITH our kids and stayed at PianaVerde (try www.pianaverde.com) (http://www.pianaverde.com)) and had a good stay there. We also paid a day visit to La Chiappa which was a much larger resort with a lot more activities and possibilities for the kids. A lot of people also speak highly of Bagherra, though we've never been there.

Corisca is actaully nestled between the coasts of France and Italy, and has more French flavor than anything else, though nakedjohn is right that the Corsican nationalists are quite fervent - but most people on the island speak French.

Good luck!
