Sandy Hook can be a lot of fun. You get a huge crowd on there on weekends, thousands really. In fact it can get too crowded. But you can get a great view of the city. I've been going there for about 10 years now. I'm 30.

One poigant memory I have is standing on the beach on Labor Day weekend 2001 and getting a particularly spectactual view of the World Trade Center glimmering in the sunlight. I remember just standing on the beach and just staring for a long time. For no particular reason. It wasn't foreshadowing, it's just when you get a good view of the city (when the clouds and fog lift) you enjoy it.

Sandy Hook is great. It does get crowded, mainly because it is so accessible to such a wide area. People come from New York, New Jesey, and Pennsylvania. There is even a boat from Manhattan. The beach is very long, and a large part of it is a bird sanctuary, which you can walk through, but you aren't supposed to setup your towel and such there, so it keeps everyone crowded up at the start of the beach, while the rest of it is relatively empty. On a clear day the view of the city is amazing, especialy how the light reflects off of the buildings. The beach has lifeguards and even a concession stand right in the nude section. Its one of those places that shows with a little government support nude beaches can be very successful.

Man's existance is less than a million years, man as he exists today is only a couple hundred thousand years.

Less than 100 years ago there were no super hiways, no ball point pens, tubeless tires, CDs, man made items in space, wireless communication, anethesia, and many many other things.

A person's life is but a most minescule blink in the theme of time. To consider one person's age is simply a most narrow focus.

Where our time on this planet as an individual is so extremely short, lets focus on things of value like each other.

When I first saw the site and started browsing around I thought it mainly for the "older" crowd, but now I see there's more diversity than I thought. But, there is the religion of Jainism, and Jain Digambara monks, mainly in the southwest of India, walk among the population in the nude, and no one stops them from this practice.

Digambara monks live completely naked. This is because Digambaras believe that one can only lead the life of a true monk:

by demonstrating indifference to earthly emotions such as shame.

quite different situations. In this case, the dighambar jains who move nude in society would suffer apoplexy if a woman practiced the same... also nudity in the name of religion is accepted in certain times, but no where else...

also nudism as a way of life is just not acceptable... not because u believ u dont need possessions nor because ur sacrificing all ills, but because u just feel like clothes suffocate u n need to stay without them, is just accepted as reason enough to practice nudism.
