You know, I haven't been interested in naturism until a few months ago, and I have to agree that skinny dipping is awesome! My swimming trunks are always wet and soggy, and also when I want to wear it it's always soggy and feels uncomfortable to wear. Now I see why people enjoy skinny dipping! How else loves it?

Yea, trunks are a mess to wear when wet. You dry off but the trunks are still wet and do not feel good. Skinny dipping is the most natural way to go and feels the very best.

No doubt about it! After swimming nude, you never want to wear a swim suit again. I hardly ever swim where I have to wear a suit. I am usually just not interested in swimming if I have to wear a suit.

If I have to wear swimmers, I will usually try to get away with the lightest and briefest I can, depending on the situation [which in reality can sometimes be more daring, racy and even more 'revealing' (by attracting more attention to them..) than simply going nude..].

Nudebushwalker: I must admit, the pic of the suit you are wearing interests me...like how does it stay on and is there a back? Just curious http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

Absolutely!! There is no such thing as a comfortable swimsuit -- unless it's your Birthday Suit!!!
I know it's the "earlybird that gets the worm" - however I'm always a little worried about big fish and snapping turtles--ouch!!
If you can't go bare -- why go there?

Soggy trunks is why, if I have to wear a suit, I prefer to wear a speedo. They dry much faster than trunks.

I haven't worn a swim suit in so long, I cannot remember when it was, I have gone skinny dipping thousands of time in streams Back in the White Mountians of NH. I even shared a pond with a moose once, She was about 75 feet away, sure love wildlife watching.

I would have to agree that I don't like trunks as well. However, there are times when they are needed. In those cases I don't get wet all that often. Oh well, what can you do? Like they say, when in Rome do as the Romans do. We all must follow rules (but still want to break them). Stay nude to stay cool.

At various times at my parent's cottage I have been in the water (about 10 metres away) with loons, a great blue heron, muskrats or otters - I don't know which, and a snapping turtle. I kept a much closer eye on the turtle.

It's truly one of those things that you can't really explain why one wants to swim nude unless they try it. Each time I have to wear the swimming trunks I hate it.

We go to extraordinary trouble to get to beaches where we can swim nude. Walking miles through the bush, over sand dunes, clambering down very steep slopes. Once we walked for a mile or so clambered down a steep and slippery slope got to the beach enjoying a few hours of nudity with some others. The beach had another easier access around a rocky point. Trouble is the tide had come in and we had to wade through a light surf around the cliff like rocky point holding our clothes and camera etc high above our heads to prevent them getting wet.
IT WAS WORTH IT and we would do it again - anything to have a skinny dip.

Unfortunately, there are times when trunks seem to be required; like when vacationing at a resort etc. At these times, I tend to enjoy the sun and surroundings but rarely get wet as the thought of sitting in a wet suit spoils the mood!

I've skinny dipped with beavers, ducks, geese, frogs, fish, etc. but no moose. Sometimes it confuses the beavers as they aren't quite sure if you are one of them or not. Once they decide you aren't one of them they slap the water with their tails (loudly), and dive for it, not to come to the surface for a long time and much farther away from me.

The best times I've had at a beach was back in the mid 80's when I was sharing a rented beach house with several other people - a couple of min's up and over the dunes and down to the surf, only had to walk a few hundred metres either way to find quite areas for sunbathing.
Had to wear something to actually get to the beach, but just a towel would have sufficed..

That swimwear I am wearing in the earlier photo is called a "sling" (see Vizeau swimwear (http://www.vizeau.com/2007.html) for racy, and expensive, swimmers..) and stays up because of the way it is cut, plus the fact it is a nylon lycra blend...

And, it is next-to-backless, so still being quite daring with it. (Haven't got a photo right to hand, but should be one, somewhere..)

You had a tolerant moose!
I was taking pictures of a moose from the bank of the pond when it decided to chase me away. It must not have been a mild "she" like your moose.

If I must wear anything in the water, its going to be a speedo style suit.Drys quickly and never that clingy wet feel of those silly trunks and board shorts.

This summer when I was at the lake, I was surprised at what people wore. Ladies and girls in skimpy bikinis and the guys in board trunks down to their knees. Talk about being uncomfortable.
Seems to me that the females don't have a problem showing skin until they leave the sand and then it's cover-up time.
