As an aspiring part-time semi-pro videographer one of my project ideas is to make a good naturists documentary that portrays naturists in a flattering way and conveys why we all do this naturist thing. After reading many "How do I get others to be nudists" posts my main story idea was to follow a couple through home nudity then slowly increasing social nudity. I want to also work other individuals, couples and families in as well with their stories on why they do it, how they started and what they do nude. I have read many good stories in posts here and think others would be interested (aren't we all closet nudists). I would also like to change the public perception of nudists as exhibitionists, swingers or activists.

As nudists, do you think that would be a good idea? If so, what would you like to see in a naturist documentary?

Frodo, I think it's a darn good idea http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/applause.gif

I like the main story idea..... the working in of other couples, families and individuals with their stories on why/how/what..... and wanting to change the public perception of nudists as exhibitionists, swingers.....

If you haven't already seen these, you may want to check out NetNude - First Time Reports

I'll pass for now on what would I like to see in the documentary. I'm sure there will be lots of input from others http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wink3.gif

Frodo,

I think you have a lot of myths that could be busted through documentaries. May I suggest making it a series of documentaries. One, for example, could address the perception that all nudists are retired senior citizens. Most television programs that visit a nudist resort gives people the perception that nudism is not for younger people. I think one episode about younger nudists would inspire younger people to seriously consider the life choice.

I also think that a series of shorter documentaries would be more interesting. Maybe you could even work out a deal and market the videos through Clothesfree.com.

Hi everyone,

My naturist documentary, "Naked in the 21st Century" is now available everywhere. What I'd like to see is some objectivity and criticisms which would lead to good debates on the issue of nudism. I only scratched the surface, but I believe we have to start somewhere. Nudist documentaries need to evolve and be embraced by the mainstream before a really good one can be made. And no, Naked States doesn't count. It's an ART project. "This Nude World" was great but it was made in the 1930s.

So not to be more shameless in my plugging. Get my DVD and let's have a real discussion.

I'm an indie filmmaker and have myself been interested in doing a project on clothes free living. Documentary or fictional narrative - maybe a little bit of both - it's an interesting concept and one worth exploring.

P.S. I've bought a copy of "Naked in the 21st Century." In addition to sending a positive message about nude recreation, I really enjoyed the quality of production. Keep up the good work. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif
