Many years ago when I was a young man I had the opportunity to have a complete body wax from a friend who was a beautician. A couple of days later, it being a very warm day, I was in the garden topping up my alloaver tan. Quite unexpectedly (she was not in the habit of doing it) my neighbour popped her head above the 6 foot fence that surrounded my garden. She was evidently standing on a pair of steps doing something to a tree. When she saw me she grabbed the top of the fence in shock, but then she recovered herself and said: "Wow, you look wonderful!" I thanked her and told her to come round - if she dared! She declined, but she asked me to turn around so that she could see every part of me! She said I looked beautiful. I was naturally very flatteed; not many young men are told that. Has anyone else ever had a similar experience when they have been naked?

uskman - Good story - a Suggestion - I think you should put your photo as your avatar or better yet add an attachment of yourself naked so all of us can judge and decide whether or not your neighbour needs glasses or not (just kidding)

We bought a 2 acre property in Baton Rouge. Before I had the fence put up around the back yard, I would sometimes open the barn door where I had my chipper/shredder stored and wheel it out and then proceed to shred up a pile I had while working behind the opened barn door (without clothes, of course). One day, the door blew shut, and I didn't notice or hear it with the shredder going. First I knew I was looking at my next door neighbor getting in or out of her car next door.
Fast forward to the fence erection. When the guys showed up to put it in, my wife was out back to make sure they got the lines right. This neighbor literally popped up out of a bush nearby and exclaimed, "You're putting up a fence!", very disappointed like.
She could see me working in my garden down below from her kitchen window; I think. Our back yard was one of the few in Baton Rouge (actually out of town) that had some topography to it. It sloped down in the back, and both house were up on the higher ground.

Being admired for being naked...I guess I have.
I've got a lady friend who I met online since about a year ago. We used to chat a lot on YM whenever time permits. At first she never really took notice of my chat ID & our chats were of usual stuff. Up to this point we have become good firends but, we never actually met in person.
About a cpl of months ago we decided to meet up for the first time. Since we havent met, she thought best that we traded photos so that we could recognise each other when we planned to meet at a cafe. It was at that time that she asked me what my chat ID meant & why were my photos cropped. So, I proceeded to explained all about my interest in nudism & my liking for being naked...bla, bla, bla.
Knowing that she comes from a conservative Malaysian family, I'd expected her to to cancel our planned meetiing & brand me a perverted sexual fiend. But, to my surprise she complimented me about it & gave her thought about how a guy who likes being nude to her was cute & romantic. That certainly gave me quite a relief.
Our meeting went ahead as planned & of course she asked me lots of questions about nudism & why I liked to be naked. She even offered herself to be my companion to any of my nude activities & visits to secluded beaches & trails , and would probably consider joining me au naturel.
So since then, I can say we've been good friends & keep in constant contact with each other. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

Hi, I really like your sense of humor. Too many nudists are a little ( orsomethimes even too much) pompous about theํr being nudists and what should be follow logically from this- nude!
In Denamrk there is nothing special about being nude as all Danish beaches are 'clothing optional' and that actually means that it's not forbidden to wear clothes if you like, but in principle you can be nude in all places here as long as you behave decently. ... But don't ask me what that means !
Back to the queastion. No i have never been admired because i'nm nude,- too much competition for that here. And as you grow oolder the chance for being admired for your nudity diminishes But I have been admired for my 'courage' when began shaving im 1976. Now it's so common that nobody notices !

I can't say that I have. The closest statement made relative to this question is when I was told by a female co-worker that she wished she had the guts, my wife and I have, to go nude with others at resorts and at the beach.
but...I don't take that as being admired.

I most certainly have. Once, when i used to live with a roommate, we had unexpected company and I just remained in my unclothed state and was admired for how "cool I was" for just staying naked. I am not sure if that would happen now http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/sad3.gif but it was neat at the time!

Well can't say that myself. I have been admired for being naked. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/yes.gif
But, the more I think about it I think it has been more to do with the fortitude and werewithal to be nude rather than the disposition of any anatomical features. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wink3.gif

As a nude model I have been on occasion. One artist said I have a "Classic" physique but come to think of it she did have a few vision problems. Her artwork was interesting though.
(Sort of "inner vision" thing I guess).
If anyone wants a wake-up call and would like to know how other people see them, I can recommend a spot of modeling. Before I tried it I thought I knew what abstract art was.

Me Too! Post it or send photos PM. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/beam.gif Mr. Nuts is too modest to admit it but he has a list of groupies.
As for me: sadly I used to be beautiful. I have not aged well unfortunately. I was a model and appeared in a few films (straight, gay and....). One can hardly credit it now. Even my best friend who knew me then has forgotten. He saw a photo of me a few weeks ago and was amazed. He said you were really good looking then. I said thanks (sigh). It is really hard to deal with....at least for me. My sister who was a beauty pagent winner is still attractive in her mid 70s. I now am a picture of a bloated, dissapated old man. This is probably because I am a bloated, dissipated old man.
Even as late as 8 years ago I used to get frequent passes and surprise kisses from both men and women at work.
In nudist situations, yeah there too years ago. I was contacted for several jobs at Blacks Beach for films and photo shoots. Some of these are still available on the internet.
The only jobs I have been offered in the last 12 years have been for voice-overs and TV and radio advertisement work. I haven't done that for a while, but enjoyed it. I even got an offer from ABC Sports which was almost irrestable. No one has offered me a nude job for a long time now.
To be more responsive to your original post. Yes. Frequently. A long time ago. The last time was when I was unexpectedly visited by my across the street neighbor who went through my gate and stared closely. I said go ahead and touch. Both satisfied.

Hey Liam. Come now.. isn't it always sunny in southern California ?
I'm trying to think of something smart-assy to say about reaching your age, or having had what you had, or how it can't be all bad.
Instead, how 'bout I just give you a hug?
<<<< Liam >>>>
Now you can't say it's been 8 years. Feel a bit like your old self? http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

Me...no, not really. When I've declared myself a nudist, I've mostly gotten the usual: "Wow! You really are crazy!", or the more open-minded: "Hmm...I've thought about it myself..." But never was admired for it. Or have gotten kudos for the way I look nude.
My wife: completely different story. In her heyday, whenever she has declared herself a nudist, the feedback has been more like: "Wow, that is so cool!" or "I wish I could have your courage - to be that free with my body!" She has also been frequently complimented on her nude body; always respectfully too (except maybe for one "prettiest nude butt" comment that made me twitch a little...)
But I think it's only normal that women would get more compliments for being nude/a nudist; because they have so many more obstacles.

I was laying by my pool naked and my neighbor comes over unexpected and I was like oh my gosh. Her response was "you look so much better naked" At that point I didnt get dressed and we talked for several minutes and she left. Soon her husband was coming thru the gate. "I just wanted to see how good you look naked" Now I was getting embrassed at this point. I now have a lock on that gate.

I Occasionally get a comment like "you look good for your age".
If they would only leave the "for your age" part out I'd feel more like it was a compliment.
I would prefer compliments about my openmindedness and easy going personality when I'm nude.
I would rather people notice I am still a good person, and good company, dressed or not.

When i was 29 i was working at a nudist resort here in Australia and i had a 17 y/o girl admire me everytime she saw my body as being a soccer player and into fitness she would follow me everywhere i went and talk to me about different things and each day she was there she would give me compliments every time and i was very flattered by the compliments and she was a very lovely young nudist lady.

I have been cooresponding lately with a lady that I dated over 30 years ago. She lives in Texas and when we spoke about our hobbies and interests recently, I mentioned that I enjoyed nudism. To my surprise, instead of being critical, she was duly impressed that I had the self esteem to enjoy being nude in public and admired the fact that I would.

In 1997 or 98, I had my first "mainstream" nudist-themed article published in one of Canada's national newspapers. It was about Club Orient in Saint Martin and the headline was "A resort for people without a thing to wear".
The next day, at a gathering in Toronto of travel media and industry types, a couple of people said they liked the story and one rather serious-looking female journalist asked, "But did you go nude yourself?"
I replied, "Of course", and she grinned and said, "Cool!"
I took that as a nod of admiration...

An ex-girlfriend from many years ago thinks its great and is interested herself. No one up in Washington will go with her so she me to visit and take her to some nudist venues. She even put a link to my nudist site up on her MSN-Space account.

I too work as a nude model and have been complimented from "you look good for your age" (43) to "your body is off the charts".
I've also had times where the instructor has left the door open, and people in the hallway could look inside. That's how I learned beyond a shadow of a doubt that women WILL look but differently from men. Men will STOP and look. Women will look as they are walking by, but won't STOP and look.

Our story is a little different. Wife and I tried Nudism for the first Time on our 5 yr anniversary (Paradise Lakes). We immediatley fell in love with the nudist lifestyle. Over the years we went to several places Camping, Resorts, ect. We have invited several of our friends to go with us so far we have had 4 different couples go with us and all fell in love with it as well. To get to the point we have one cpl friends who say they admire that we be nude with others around. The female half of the couple is very shy Her hubby is as well he says he would try it she is still leary. anyway they both do say they respect our lifestyle choice and hope one day they come to terms with there own bodies. Kind of a bring story but thought we would add it.

I was asked to do some work at a couples' house. I've known them as nudists for years at the resort. Anyway, the lady friend came outside in a sundress and I went GAGA! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/laugh.gif http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/blush.gif
Wow, xxxx, you are CUTE!!! She got a laugh out of it and said it happens to her all the time. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/smash.gif
BUT< NEVER WHEN NUDE!! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/laugh.gif
She is beautiful, but as one nudist to another, I never really noticed. My wife was laughing to beat the band that I hadn't gone GAGA before. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/confused.gif

A couple of months back, I was at the local resort when I noticed this sweet young thing looking at me as I was relaxing in the warm pool. She left after a while, and I didn't think much more of it until she came into the sauna and began to chat me up (we were the only two there, and I've noticed it's quite rare for people to just start chatting with a single guy, especially a girl who couldn't have been more than 21). While she didn't say anything about my physique (I'm just an average guy who tries to stay in shape), the fact that she was forward enough to initiate a conversation with a guy twice her age told me that she obviously admired me enough to even want to talk. I must say, she certainly gave my ego a pretty big boost that day... http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

In our life drawing and sculpturing groups we were very careful not to tell a woman that we admired her beautiful body, as we were afraid that she might consider the comments as merely a sexual thing, so we just told her that she was a very good model.

I've heard similar to what "K and C" related.. about being admired for being comfortable enough with myself to be able to be nude around my place and about bringing up two kids with obviously no body acceptance issues. I've been told they would have loved to have parents like me, which is a huge complement..
I also model.. complements would be welcome, but I'm a man, and figure it'd be different for a woman. Really, its how things are said obviously, the nature of the modeling and the class, etc, etc.
Personally though, I don't find talking about a body part taboo.. Words don't hurt ya. Its someone demeanor, not their words that dictate if what is said is done appropriately I feel.
I did have a neighbor tell me I look really good in a Speedo and she thought I should wash my car naked.
During college I was usually nude in the dorm and always walked to and from the bathrooms naked even the year I was on a coed floor. I also did a lot of art modeling and nude photography in which I was typically the only one naked. As a result I had a number of both male and female friends in college who told me how much they admired me for being so comfortable with myself and my body that I could be the only one naked and it did not bother me.

No, I will not post a pic of myself, partly because the incident to which I referred occurred many years ago, and anno domini has not improved the look of me. However, some 20 years after that incident I had to go into hospital for an operation. Because I had been off work for some weeks and prevented from going about I spent the time (it was a glorious summer) perfecting an allover tan. Thus, when I went into hospital I was totally hairless (I still had periodic waxing sessions)and the colour of a coconut from head to foot. A particularly attractive nurse was the (un?)fortunate young lady who had to prepare me for surgery, and she told me that she would have to shave my lower stomach. I therefore threw back the bedclothes and told her I didn't think it was necessary but obviously she would have to check in case I was being shy! She took one look at me and said I looked amazing. Not quite the same compliment as before but she was clearly admiring the look of me. She said I would not need shaving so she told me to cover up again after I had turned over and shown her that my body was completely hair-free. However, she asked me where I had been on holiday. When I told her I had achieved my tan in the back garden she was very amused, although she asked me why I was hairless. I said I preferred to be smooth. She then congratulated me on my tan once again, my courage and lack of selfconsciousness and on my naturist lifestyle.
