I enjoyed the article from Desert Weekly about nudist resorts in and around Palm Springs. I thought it was very positve. I was wandering what people thought was the best resort in regards to ammenities,service, and price.

In regards to the nudist resorts, which one I would suggest and have worked there myself was Desert Shadows INN and Resorts. They have a wonderful resort, with 3 pools, 2 spa's, a restaurant on the property, tennis court, and also a work out room. The pricing is very resonable. The resort has a wonderful reputation and has ever since it opened. The "best resort" depends on what you're looking for in your getaway.

Desert Shadows is the most upscale, and is the largest, most modern property. The one time we stayed there was between Christmas and New Year, and there was hardly anyone there but us. It felt lonely. However, I'm willing to believe that they have a better occupancy at other times.

Morningside Inn is an older small property. Again, we stayed there just once. We enjoyed the friendly guests, but noticed signs of deferred maintenance. We were also aware that management was not providing all of the amenities that were advertised, and didn't see that as a problem.

Terra Cotta Inn is more expensive, but tremendously popular. Many of their guests seem to reserve a year in advance, so it's not uncommon that there's no room even if you call well ahead. We loved the place, and at one time my wife told me she wouldn't go any place else.

Our current favorite is Living Waters Spa in Desert Hot Springs. It's really more oriented to people who are looking to soak in warm mineral water, relax in a peaceful setting, and perhaps enjoy a massage at highly competative rates. The owners have done a great job of refurbishing a classic 1960s motel, and no one exceeds the Bowmans at hospitality.

But it really comes down to what you're looking for and what you are willing to pay. The general area of Palm Springs has something for just about every person who wants to shed their clothes.

1777N. Palm Canyon Drive. The Inn is run by Richard & Karen and they are outstanding hosts.
I recently stayed they Inn and I can't say enough good things about it. The rates are competitive and the location is good. Give it a try if you are loking for a nice quiet retreat.

That was a great article. We, in fact, were at Living Waters Spa when the reporter came through there, and I was quoted once though some of my other thoughts were reinforced here and there in the story. Living Waters is very relaxing and they really give special care and attention. Great couple run it. We liked Morningside Inn for its intimacy, but it's been four or five years. One fun thing was their video-lending library, which included great naturist films. Our stay at Desert Shadows during that same vacation was strikingly difference. We got the grand experience, but we were there on a slow summer weekday and not much was happening there. As a resort, it has real class.

We have only visited three of the clothing optional/nudist resorts/Inn's in Palm Springs so far.

Terra Cotta Inn, Desert Shadows Inn and Villas and Morningside Inn.

TCI is our favorite. Like luvnaturism, my wife only wanted to go there in the beginning. We've become somewhat good friends with Tom and MaryClare and are regular day visitors as well as overnight and annual week or longer visitors with a large group of friends. We highly recommend this place for those new to social nudity.

Morningside is a bit like TCI but there are some things lacking and frankly its a bit smaller than TCI and we feel a little closed in and almost feel like we're back in our backyard. Usually we go to Palm Springs and these resorts to take a break from our backyard.

Desert Shadows has been one that we've visited now several times. In the beginning, the staff wasn't very friendly and kept asking us our first couple of visits if we understood that they were a NUDIST resort and not clothing optional, after repeated answers of "yes, that's why we came here, we prefer nude," they finally left us alone. It's taken several visits and a few overnight stays for them to finally warm up to us and they are very friendly towards us and comment on having not seen us if we've been away for a while.

We have yet to visit Living Waters and would like to soon. Turtle Back Mesa is a bit too rustic for my wife's taste.
