Seattle train commuters get daily glimpse of male nude beach
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
WOODWAY, Wash. -- It happens in a flash as the afternoon Sounder trains carry commuters north from the city to Everett - a glance at an otherwise secluded beach frequented by mostly gay men who take it all off.
"Every day we look outside the train and count how many are there in their birthday suits," said Sarah Thompson of Edmonds, a project manager. "It's a plus for riding the train. It's an added bonus. It's the entertainment factor for the Sounder."
The beach below a bluff in this peaceful suburb, which bills itself as "The Quiet Place," has been a favorite with male nudists for decades. In 2004 the start of Sounder service gave them new exposure to commuters shunning the Interstate 5 traffic follies for a ride along the eastern shore of Puget Sound.
"All the women pile themselves up against the window," said Steve Barber, a rider who works for King County law enforcement. "It's comic relief."

This beach has been around for years and so have the train tracks! The news reporter must not have been busy that day or really needed an article to fill that spot in the paper.

Atleast it sounds like the passengers in the train don't have a problem with the beach.
As it should be.

I wrkd my way thru college on that RR! We used to 'fight' who would get the seats on the beach side of the tracks. Also some coed nude spots along the route, + nude spots near Bellingham, which was a Very HIPPY place...
(former?) nude beach 'Teddy Bare Cove' near Bellingham

I wonder what the folks in the picture think about their picture being used with this post. I doubt very much that it accompanies the article on the AP newswire.

If they really get off on the sight of male nudes, maybe they can charge more for the seats on the beach side of the train...

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif Great to have a positive story like that. Now, how long do we wait before some prude reader starts complaining and screaming for a new law?? http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/sad3.gifAnd I bet said prude has never seen the beach from the train! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/smash.gif

Its pretty clear that that photo did not come from anyone on the train given the angle. Its also pretty doubtful that the people in the photo weren't aware they were being photographed. I wonder if the photo was taken somewhere else with better beaches.

I'm from WA and I assure you, that photo wasn't from the forementioned beach. They don't have nice sand like that on our Puget Sound beaches. They are very rocky around here!

"All the women pile themselves up against the window..."
Then they might want to buy tickets for the Amtrak train going through Laguna Niguel, California next July 14th:
