Hello, I am a new member (July 4, 2005). I am a 51yo male who had a gastric bypass on January 18, 2005. I've gone from a size 50 to a 40.
I am interested in talking with others in the community about this experience.
Have you had a bypass? What kind did you have? I had what is called a Lap Band. It is a donut-shaped device that inflats with saline solution.
How has the bypass impacted your life? I will soon stop taking medication for high-cholesterol and high-blood pressure.
Thanks,
Jim aka myles_aweigh

Progress report:
o Have dropped from 298.7 to 243. Size 42 pants too big too big, and size 38s starting to fit. Also shifted from 2X shirts to XL.
o Started a weight lifting and aerobic exercise program about two weeks ago. The sit-ups and leg-lifts are getting easier.
o Asthma no longer requires medication.
