View Full Version : How would I publish a nudist novel?

I have been considering writing a novel that incorporates nudism into the story line. However, I don't know how to go about getting it published. Right now I have mostly outlines, etc.
I think that if I approach one of the larger publishers in the US, I'd be turned down. I know that the audience for such a book might be limited to the nudist community so they wouldn't want to deal with such a small (relatively) printing. I'm sure that there would (hopefully) be some non-nudists that will pick it up but until Oprah picks it up on her book list, I think I will be limited to selling it online myself or through a nudist web site.

If I could see a possibility that I could get it published, I might make more of an effort to actually write it. But, if it would just sit in a box, I might try to write something more mainstream.

So, does anyone know how I could go about getting a novel published that has nudist themes?

Thanks for the info.

BG: I would contact the publishers of Naturally
Magazine. I'm sure they have contacts in the
literary world who are naturist friendly. You
can find their link on the main page of

I would suggest that you start to write it before thinking about publishing it, unless writing for you is more of a job than a hobby, as it is for me.

I am in the middle of a trio of first-person books about three children (brother and sisters) amd how they each are introduced to nudism in their own way, and how it changes their lives, with the main issue that each child will overcome spelled out in the first sentence of each story.

I am not going to even think about publishing this story until I am nearly complete, although it must also be known that these stories are just three of six stories that I am working on right now. Writing it is more of a hobby for me, it is kind of like an obsession.

You could always "vanity publish" it. That's where you pay all the costs for the books and get a bunch of copies of it. I'm sure these publishers are easy to find on-line.
