Training in Dothan Alabama

Hi All!

I'm going to be visiting Dothan, Alabama for a few weeks to do some flight training in August. I would love to visit some nude beaches in Florida, in the pan handle if possible, but I would consider driving to Daytona if I have to. Does anyone have some advise as to the closest "safe" nude area to Dothan? By safe, I mean least likely to get arrested! For that I would get fired!!!

Any advise would be wonderful. Anyone in the area?

Unfortunately, there are no nude beaches in the Florida panhandle. There WAS a popular, tho unofficial nude beach at Navarre just east of Pensacola, FL but the authorities have been cracking down the past few years and I don't believe it is wise to go there any longer.

I am not sure of the current status but you may want to check into a nude beach on 'Ship Island' off the Mississippi coast near Gulfport. http://members.tripod.com/~Gulf_Coast/ (http://members.tripod.com/%7EGulf_Coast/)

Otherwise you will have to drive down to New Smyrna or Titusville and visit Apollo or Playalinda Beach

There are two resorts just outside of Pensacola, Sunburst in Milton 850-675-6807, and Riviera in Pace 850-994-3665.

If you want to drive a little further there is Baybares in Youngstown 850-722-0790.

Sol-Searcher, what can you tell us about Johnson Beach, in the area of Perdido Key? Last I heard, a couple years ago, former denizens of Navarre Beach were now going to Johnson Beach for discreet (but unsanctioned) nude recreation.

Well, It looks like I'll have to drive to Datona for a weekend visit. I'm not taking any chances in an area I don't know. Any hotel recommendations, something close to the nude beach south of Daytona?
