Took photographs professionally for 28 yars. Now teach at university. Willing to teach individuals or groups free of charge. If long distance involved help with petrol costs would be appreciated but not necessary.

Would you be willing to offer advice/tips, etc. via e-mail (as North west England would definitely be "long distance" http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )? I attempt to do quite a bit of self nude photography (some of which has ended up here, mostly in the form of avatars) for the primary purpose of figure drawing reference and am always looking for pointers and wondering what I'm doing wrong/missing and how I could do it better.

Ben, at the look of your newest avatar you do not need much advice anymore - really cool!!!!!

Thanks Naturist4Ever http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif !
My current avatar photo was taken over two years ago and two cameras ago. I think I'm still learning (and in some ways even hope so). That camera was a point and shoot 3 megapixel Fuji. My current camera is an Olympus 8 megapixel digital SLR, and I'm still trying to figure out the photo lights, umbrellas, and background stuff I got to go with it.... (to say nothing of the camera functions) Hmmm, could this be obessession? well, of course, and obviously - that's me http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Ben,
Your avatar would be a beautiful Christmas card.
One of your best.

Always happy to give advice, though from the photographs you post I don't think you need it. I agree with the other people who replied including the idea about the Christmas card. Keep up the good work.

Allan </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Thanks for the kind thought! Maybe I should find a print source that does cards? http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif (LOL!)
In any case, I think the more I think I get and/or supposedly get "figured out" the more questions it generates. Perhaps that's just partly called "life"? (since everything in my life seems to work that way).

Am I remembering correctly that you have downloaded images from your camera to your computer - or are they still on the camera? How far do you get/where do you get stopped?

You said that you are willing to give advice long distance. Well, I am long distance - across the pond so driving time might be a little prohibitive http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I am always looking for help on my photography and any suggestions that ypou can give is greatly appreciated.
You can see just a couple of my pictures in this forum:

Incidentally, we will be back at Firefly in a couple of weeks.
