I've been a home nudist my entire adult life, I've been to a beach where nudity is tolerated many times I've always gone alone. There was usually other nude people there, mostly men, some women, usually the women were topless, I've never gone to a place where social nudity was the norm, ie. nude club or beach, I really want to but have always been a little afraid to try it, I have done some coed skinnydipping. I was just wondering if there are others in tne same delema?

If you've been to a nude beach where anyone can go, even if they're just there for gawking, then a nudist club or resort should be no problem at all. Depending on where you go, the people are very accepting and friendly. Unfortunately, that's not true of all places since not all of them accept single men, or am I assuming wrong that you would be alone?
I go to the Turtle Lake Resort in Union City, Michigan, and they have no problem with unmarried men. I've even camped there. I'm sure there are other places just as accepting and friendly.
I have no idea where the St. Lawrence river area is so I can't advise you on where you could go. I have the North American Guide to Nude Recreation that tells where all the nude places are. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

River rat,
I can't say i have ever been in the same set up as you're in. But what I can say is if you've been interested in nudity as long as you say you have, then do yourself a favor, and try to find some one to go with you and take the big step. Try out the closest nudist club you can find. I garrentee you won't regret it.
I personally was a closet nudist for nearly thirty years and it is soo wonderful to experience the real thing. I'm sure you will be hooked just like so many others like my wife and I.
Be Happy and Be Nude.
What a great way to bring in the New Year.

I was a home nudist and ventured outdoors alone discreetly whenever possible since early childhood. I've been into social nudism for less than two years.
The only guide I have is the North American Guide to Nude Recreation. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Consider making your first venture into social nudism at the Naturist Life Reunion held July 24-27 in Troy Vermont. Troy is just south of the Vermont border with Quebec province.
It shouldn't be too far from the part of New York you call home.
Here's a link to their Web site:

I've been there a couple times. It's only about a 4 to 4.5 hour drive. Unfortunately, it's in August now, I liked it better when it was in June. Also, visit Empire Haven in Moravia NY. They have a Festival there too. And Buckridge, just south of Ithaca. Both very fine places, people are super. Make it a point, in 2003, to go somewhere you've never been, nude of course. I plan to go to the Ledges, and Sandy Hook this year. Maybe even Haulover.

Hi...
I'm new to this life style also. In the past year we have come from an "inside the house nude" to a "regular" nude, and love it. We started by going to a skinnydipping place. My wife would not disrobe there so I looked somemore. We finally went to Palm Springs for a weekend. It was the most beautiful thing we could have done. The people were very nice... an understatement, for sure. We are set for life now and are making our vacation plans to include those places that are "nude-rich" CA and FLA are where we will be going. Join a club and make the plung. The water is really warm.
Good luck, my friend. You're going nude is a benifit to us all...

The Ledges is a great place to go skinny dipping. Yes there was some brief legal trouble. The local government made nudity illegal for a few months, but that law got overturned and you can swim nude there again. Sen. Leahy of Vermont has told Vermont law enforcement that skinny dippers are not to be prosecuted for discrete skinnydipping anywhere in Vermont. Only lewd conduct will be prosecuted. Sounds like my kind of place!

I think I would enjoy that rather than a landed club, I have been to a clothing optional beach a few times so the ledges should be fun, Plus it's about as close as most of the NY state clubs, I find it hard to believe that with St Lawrence river here that there arn't more nudists up here, I know of a few skinnydippers, but no one will admit to being a nudist, those darn walk in closets, well thanx for writting, see you at the Ledges?
