Server Upgrade - Planned Downtime [Archive]

We will be upgrading the server that hosts CothesFree.com. During this upgrade, the site will be down. This should be completed within 2 hours and will happen within the next 24 hours.

ClothesFreeForums.com will not go down, but you will need to access the forums via that specific domain since ClothesFree.com will not be online.

Thanks Mathew for the advance notice.

I use to mainly moderate all night and post alert and email corky and wake him up when the CFI servers in the Gulf or Texas or CFF servers in Seattle went off line or need to be remotly reset.

The Florida server will go down at approx. 5PM PST... so 1.5 hours from now. If all goes as planned, we'll be back up by 7PM PST.

The forums are hosted in Seattle and will remain online.

The CFI server just went down for upgrades as my signature username and www.clothesfree.com (http://www.clothesfree.com) domain is off right now.

I'm on Pacific time. It's 7:30 PM here right now. The upgrade should happen some time within the next few hours. I don't have complete control over this upgrade, so it depends on our admin in Florida. He says it'll happen tonight at some point. I'll give you more info as I get it.

The ClothesFree.com server is down at the moment. While upgrading to the newest version of mySQL database, some files were corrupted.

Instead of fixing all of the corrupted files one by one, we decided that it would take les time and be better in the long run to setup a new server.

At this moment, all of the files are being transfered to the new server. Because ClothesFree.com has so many files (videos, photos, etc) it is taking a long time.

In the long run, we will have a faster and more secure server. This does not affect the forums, so you can continue to use the forums via the clothesfreeforums.com domain name.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but look forward to having a brand new server up and running shortly.

I think the change over of files and MySQL database onto a new server is taking longer than expected or they have run into a problem.

The CFI server went offline at 01:30 AM 12-14-2006 California time and its 01:30 AM 12-15-2006 so the server has been down for a full day 24 hours, and just starting on the second day.

Well the Picture of the day properties changed from 14.jpg to http://www.clothesfree.com/15.jpg
at the change of the day CA time, so that part of the server is working but cannot still see the CFI site. The CFI URL/address domain has been down for full 24 hours [One Day and counting]

Thanks for the status report Gary. I do see light at the end of this long and gloomy tunnel. It looks like our server administrator has finished restoring the files on our new server and they are configuring the web server to display the pages. There are over 100 sites hosted on our server, including some nudist resorts and organizations. The nudist sites, including clothesfree.com, are getting the highest priority and will be configured first. It wouldn't surprise me to see clothesfree.com back up and running any minute now. But really, it's not in my control. I'm just the forum admin, not the server admin. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

When I click on the CFI logo at the top of the page it takes me to "Acidwashers." Being washed with acid doesn't sound like a good nude activity.

I hope Gary's right, but at least the link at the top of this page hasn't been fixed. It still goes to Acidwashers.

Incidentally, I hope that this report won't be seen as criticism of anyone. Anyone who has to work through a total crash like this has my full sympathy, patience, and understanding.
