Anyone ever been to Avalon in West Virginia? What did you think?

I was there once this last January (it was a very warm day 75 F). I really liked it. The people there were friendly, and the property was very nice. I have been trying to talk my wife into going with me, but no luck yet. I have some new friends who are members and some even newer friends who live there and had invited me to go canuding. Avalon is "single" and "married but solo" friendly, but I think they are kind of expensive. About $30. for a single person's day visit and $40. for a couple. I guess this still is not bad, but I would much rather pay the $40 and have someone with me.

I live in the Morgantown, WV area and it took me about 2 hours to get there.

I am originally from Md and have visited avalon many times both as a single and with my family. Its a very nice laid back place, nice restaurant, motel, and campgrounds,

I was there on Aug. 13 during their big music and craft festival. I would guess there were 300 people there. During the week it is pretty slow; Nice place with good people. Arne
