One of the best documantary about naturism is back in dvd zone 2 format. Only in French. You need a dvd player that can read european dvds (Pal, zone 2).

It ranks at 351th place of bestseling artilcle at Amazon.fr That is quite popular, because they have hundreds of thousands of different articles.

It confirms the popularity of naturism in France.
The main difference between this dvd and clothesfree website forums is that the ideology of the dvd is far more to the left.

A lot of talk about how naturism is about tolerance, environement and a class less society.

This dvd is in the gay section only because nudity is very popular for French gays. The movie says a few good words about homosexuality, but that's it.

Eric, was this documentary ever in general release in France, or was it something produced exclusively for DVD?

I've been wanting to get an all-region capable DVD player for years now. There's lots of stuff I'd like to see that's available only in Region 2 encoding. It sounds like this documentary will go on that list.

No, it was not only for dvd. It is a movie that was made about 6 or 7 years ago. It was played in movie theaters and was shown at Montreal International movie festival.

Then it was released on French VHS (SECAM-L code), but the VHS is out of stock since many years.

The movie talks also about the history of naturism. Unfortunatly, the sound in only in French and there are no subtitles of any kind.

I know a store on the internet from the USA that sells zonefree dvd players. I can tell you witch store if you are interested. It sells for less than $150 US.

When I was in Paris months ago, I saw a documentary similar to this, except in English.

It was about the history of naturists, and included full nudity of both sexes.

We are very advanced in many ways, but socially we are... retarded?

Thanx for the hint. As I could see from the link, this film also explores german naturism in the "Englischer Garten" of Munich, a place im familiar with. I will grab the dvd in november, when I am in Paris...

you can find many good quality *family naturism* (i.e., the serious and honest kind) videos/dvd's at Tower productions:

http://www.tower-productions.co.uk/naturism/screens/videos.html

and there is more useful naturiststuff on their website.

Parafotos (http://www.parafotos.co.uk) is Charlie Simonds outfit, personally I it has a far too dubious slant towards - surprise? - young females.

The movie is available for download here:

However, you will have to register with this french nudist website to have access to all 11 parts (it's free), and that could be difficult if you have no knowledge of the french language.
