Any Naturist in Scotland?

Hi!
Just joined this forum and am wondering if there's anyone else from Scotland here?
I am mostly a home Naturist and sometimes during the summer I have been known to go to the beach. I am a member of YBN and CCBN, though have'nt been to any events yet.
I was at my first swim in Edinburgh this weekend past which I enjoyed. First time I've played volleyball in the nude!
I also post on freebodyzone.com as Iain as well. So, is there any other hardy Scots Naturist out there?

During my two tours of duty in Scotland (Holy Loch from 1983-85 and Edzell from 1995-97), I wasn't into nudism.

If I was a nudist during my stay in Scotland, the weather would have promted me to keep my shirt on!

I think that it must be the Scottish weather that makes vacations (or holidays) in Spain so popular.

Despite your climate, I do love your country. The next time that I return to Scotland to visit friends and in-laws, I hope to find some indoor clothes-free venues in Glasgow or around Greenock.

It was a few years after retiring from active duty that I discovered nudism.

Yep. I stay in Hamilton near Glasgow and been a naturist for years. My folks don't know I am naturist I go to Ardeer beach and the Western Baths in Glasgow. I was there this sunday but the club needs to keep the number ups or else it might go. It is every Sunday and £7 from 9.30 to 1.30pm

Hello there, Iain,
It was very nice to see that there are other Naturists from Scotland on the Forumns. We live in Clackmannanshire. I am 58 and my Wife is 42. As I work for myself and from Home I can be nude most days exept in extreme cold. I am nude as I type this in my shack / office in the Loft, as I have a fan heater.
We have a 2.m x 4.5 m Conservatory at the rear of the house. which has 33mm thick safety glass , insulated walls and vertical blinds, so I ( my wife is not into the hobby), can sunbathe nude in Temps. of 50 C in Summer, and my neighbours, only 1.5 Metres away on their deck , are completely unaware that I am there.
Round the back we have a large patio where on occasions I can strip off if the Neighbours are away. We go Caravanning and go only to Caravan Club 5 Unit CLs , and as the Occupants of the other Caravans are away most days, I can strip off behind our 4 foot high Guyed Windbreaks, as long as there is no one else about.
We go to Dornoch in May every year in the Caravan, and I go nude Jogging at 06.40 in the morning in the local forest or along an isolated beach, and beleive it or not it is really quite warm at that time of morning. I think in Scotland, it is poosibel to be naked in quite a lot of places, but you have to put in a lot of research to find the places to go. For instance there are miles of open moorland in Scotland with little glens etc., where you can sit in the Sun and never see a living soul all day, but you have to be prepared to put in the effort to get there and the reasearch.
I have to laugh at the British attitude to Sunbathing. It is either too cold or too hot. When the Sun is out most people are still clad for a Spring day. and then , like my Wife, when the go on Holiday abroad, they burn, where as if they got as much Sun at home as thet could, they would hav a protective layer, for the stronger Sun abroad.
We are off to Spain in September, and have a week each at two Villas with Pools, over 2,000 feet up the mountains above the Costa del1 Sol, and very rural and isolated, so I am looking forward to a mostly Naturist Holiday.
Im also a INA member . I met a fellow Radio enthusiast on Clothes free from Yorkshire, ( Dalesman), and we have regular chats on Yahoo IM.

Sometimes go to the swim in Edinburgh.
Also enjoy naturist beaches, but have not been to any in scotland.
Don't really know any.
I am however spending this saturday at a naturist bed and breakfast.
Its called St Brides, have you ever been?

Have been posted in bonnie Scotland on two seperate tours of duty with the U.S.Navy.
The next time I travel back to the UK, I probably won't be brave enough to try nudism in Scotland, but that's because the weather is too cold for me!
If you are looking for great places to engage in social nudism, there are plenty of places in Yankeeland, especially down here in SE Georgia (Native Woods) and several places in Florida.
Should you decide to check out Niagra Falls, I recommend Lily Valley, which is on the Canadian side and closer to Buffalo.

There is a nudist beach at Ardeer, near Stevenson.

If you want to visit the beach let me know and I can meet you to go there.

I like the beach. It can be quiet but good views over to Arran.

Hi fellow Scots. Good to see there are a few like minds, & hasn't it been a great summer for shedding the clothes here?

There's also a c/o beach on Arran & a couple over on the east coast (further to Ewan's last post) Only tried Ardeer myself which is actually not to bad, though as per usual, lacking in any sort of facilities, but then again, who needs facilities on a naturist beach? They'd just attract any Tom Dick or Harry along no doubt.

PJ, I'm just across the watter from the Holy Loch, not surprised you enjoyed your time there as you had such a fabulous view! Is it true that when US Navy pulled out, there was enough contraband that had dropped to the sea bed you could have opened up your own store? Certainly the rumours were rife at the time, even to the extent there were two jeeps stuck on the sea floor at Hunters Quay!

Let's hope August stays good here in Scotland & we perhaps find a few more people in God's country who are like minded.

Just registered. many years ago I sunbathed naked on holiday in Majorca but started doing it in this country this summer. When I get the chance, I wander about my garden with no clothes on. Went to Tentsmuir Forest earlier this summer. Would like to go elsewhere. Any recommendations?

There is always the nudist beach at Ardeer by Stevenson.

The beach is a bit rough looking at times but there are good sandy bits.

A train leaves from Glasgow Central Station taking about 40 minutes to get to Stevenson station. There is a good service to there including the weekends. After that walk away from the level crossing. You need to walk a short stretch past houses and then you should see a park with a flower garden. When you see the flower garden at the start of the park turn 45 degrees facing up the park and walk keeping the 45 degrees. This will take you up hill and down dale through car parks but you will be there when you see the start of the factory. There is a rough path down, follow it and keep going. You will hit sand after a short time and that is where you can get naked as far as the estuary. I like the place it has good views over to Arran.

Alternatively take the car, but park at the first tarmac car park the other one further down is a bit dodgy and not worth the risk knocking your car sump off.

I have toasted my bum there several times.

The other attraction on the way up the hill once you did the uphill and down dale is seeing folk flying kites and driving sail carts powered by the wind. Really fun to watch, wish they had a horn to go beep beep though.

Hi all - I've just joined and I'm heartened to see so many naturists in Scotland. I've been on naturist holidays, but the other day I was down at Ardeer beach and it was scorching, a beautiful afternoon. Yesterday, I roasted in the car as I drove down to Ardeer anticipating another glorious sunbathing session, but by the time I got there the clouds had moved in. Myself and about a dozen or so others were wandering about waiting for the cloud to clear when it started to rain. I'm hoping for a better day today. The beach is pretty dirty and I'm sure the water is dodgy, but what the hell!
