Well I'm new to it, but I just enjoy the feeling of being free. It's also very comfortable (in warm weather) and most of the time wearing clothes is silly (after a shower, in bed, etc).
I hope you don't write him off as crazy. Be open to talking with him. If you don't want to join him, that's your choice, but at least don't be close-minded.

Lenne,
It is actually much more popular than you think. In fact nude recreation has boomed into a very commen form of travel and living. You meet folks from all walks of life, maybe even people you know.
Big enough that growth of resorts through out the world are expanding to keep up with the multi billion dollar industry.
To naturists it is much more than running around naked. First, it is far more comfortable and closer to nature. It is also about body acceptance and accepting others for who they are. It is about removing the last barrier between you and others, and truly getting to know someone. Rest assured that it is not about sex for the majority.
Naturists are some of the best around. Give it a try and you will understand. My wife and I have never looked back and are raising our kids as nudists too.
I hope you do not discount your boyfriends ideals, it is a great way of life, it has been great for us, and we have met some wonderful people and formed some very good friendships.
I am sure that others will add to the list of what it is all about, but to me the people are what makes it special.

I just didn't expect but I still love him.
Maybe I'll become a nudist 2 but first I would like to learn some more about it.
After all, you don't hear much of this subject in real life.
Thank's for the link, I'm really going to read it when I've got time.

Basically, lenne, its just like ercNY said. When you are nude, you feel closer to nature and it also does give you a better understanding of body acceptance. We try to go to a resort whenever we can, and when we do, we have a great time. My girlfriend is also a nudist and she wonders what took her so long to try it. I think that you are definitely taking a step in the right direction. I feel that it is important to learn and ask questions about the lifestyle, practice your nakedness at home with your boyfriend, and then set your sites on a resort. You don't want your first visit in public to be at a beach.....too many gawkers! Try a clothing optional resort; that way you don't have to get naked right away...you can get naked when you want.
There is no better feeling than being nude outside and I think you will enjoy it tremendously. Give it a try and I think you will be glad you did http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

Hello Lenne, I appreciate the fact that you did not get mad at your boyfreind for being a nudist. Understanding that nudism/naturism does not have anything with perversion is probably the first thing that needs to be understood. I believe most people who detest naturism/nudism is because they associate it with some kind of sexual perversion.
Being a nudist has to do, with like the responses you've seen posted so far. Its about being free, comfortable, being free of judgement of others, and plain and simple, just being happy with who you are. I enjoy being free because there are no clothes restricting me. I feel I have nothing to hide when naked, and I'm just alot more comfortable around others who are also nude and free.
Hope this helps, good luck to you.

Lenne, another dutch person her, hoi dus http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
For dutch speaking people I recommend also http://www.nfn.nl, the site of the dutch naturists organisation, which again has links to the (very active) youth division within the nfn. They also started a discussion group recently, so that may be useful if you want to get some dutch-spoken input on the whole thing (there are also a number of separate discussion forums on naturism in the dutch language, however since they are largely unmoderated they suffer from considerable trolling. Avoid those. http://www.naturismeforum.nl is one example)
Just about belgium: as you already may know there is only one nude beach (Bredene, it was 200m long but I read somewhere that it may be extended because of the populairty) and several naturists clubs (most of them called Athena). There are some nude swims here and there. There is a website that has all the details, your bf will most likely know.
>> you don't hear much of this subject in real life.
Not in Belgium which is quite conservative when it comes to naturism and public nudity. Most Flemish naturists trek to the Netherlands. In fact, one Belgium nudist club IS located in the Netherlands.
>> So are they active nudists now
If one's parents are *active* nudists one would notice no?
>> In first place, why do you like walking arounth naked?
That's a misconception. SOME do like to walk naked (seemingly mostly men), but for most people by large it is sunning and swimming nude that comes first, either on the nudebeach or at a naturist resort/club. People like to play games, like volley, tennis or badminton, boules, etc. It's a great feeling, and it is described at many places here and there.
Lacking access to nude recreation facilities, or not wanting to "come out of the closet", or not interested into meeting anyone else with the same interest, also many people just practice home nudism.
Veel success...
Lenne,
I don't understand how your parents can be nudists without ever introducing you to it or encouraging you to participate, or do they believe it's something that only adults should do?

Hi Lenne,
It's very mature of you to seek resources and learn more about nudism. Many women 2 or 3 times your age are not nearly as mature when it comes to accepting the idea that the man they love has an interest in nudism.
I think by far your best bet would be to ask your parents how they feel about it. Let your boyfriend explain to you why he feels drawn towards being naked, why he enjoys it, etc.
Here are a few links that I used to educate myself on nudism many years ago. (This forum is also a wonderful place to ask questions and get answers). Welcome http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Let's see...
Naketnudists,
my parents aren't really to be called "active nudists" but my mother has comitted that she and my father somethimes run arount in the house naked when I'm not home.
They also never went to a nudist-camp or beach but they would really like to give it a try somethime.
Naturist4ever,

Thanks for the link, I'm really going to check it out when I've got some more time.
I appreciate your comment, many thanks.
Jon-Marc,
First of all, as I already said to nakednudists, I don't think I can call my parents "active" nudists.
I'm shure that they don't believe that it's just something for adults to do because, now I've told my mother of my boyfriend being a nudist, we had had a longer talk about it that usual and she encourages me to try it somethime when I'm alone at home so I think I'll give it a try someday. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Buzzer,
Thanks for the reply, and as I said to Jon-Marc,
I think I'll give it a try when I'm home alone.
Also, the more I read and hear about it the more I beginning to like the idea of skinny-dipping with my boyfriend.

This whole thread is strange to me but it reminds me of my situation right now so I thought I'd share. I was seeing this girl and as soon as I let her know that I've been known to visit the nude beach here, she has all but avoided me save for the occasion IM on instant messenger. I was surprised to get the cold shoulder since she's a year younger than me and seems pretty progressively minded in other things. I really, really like her too so it's a shame. It would have been better if it was someone I didn't like as much LOL So just a reminder to all of those out there with accepting or participating signigicant others, APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAVE!

Hi Lenne -
When I lived in the Netherlands a few years ago, I went to a great naturist pool/sauna event that the local naturist organization sponsored monthly in Gennep (http://www.homepages.hetnet.nl/~eefvanbaal/index.html). It was a blast, and had several young people there, oftentimes with their families.
The Young Ones (http://www.theyoungones.nl/) is a Dutch naturist group which has events. There's a schedule on the homepage. I had a couple of friends involved with them, and the group was cool!
And then there's also the Naturist pagina (http://naturisme.pagina.nl/) which lists all Dutch naturist links (and Belgian too!).
Sorry that these are all Dutch . . . but it isn't all that far away, depemdimg on your location in Belgium.
PS - Hooked, sorry to hear about your situation. Ahhhh, if she were only as enlightened as you are http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

09-17-2005, 05:52 PM
Thanks Brian...it's alright, everyone has their own issues and choices. Time will tell
Can I weigh in since I'm still somewhat new? You know, Lenne, since I've been nude around other clothed people (I model for an art class, this is my third class since February this year), the "sexual feelings" are not there. When I did run around the house when younger and home alone, it would feel "sexy" to me. Given time and age, that feeling has gone. I haven't been to a resort yet, but have been to an area where others are nude, just no women have been there when I was.
I said all that to say this: You will feel quite self conscious about being nude, especially with your bf, as I felt that way being a model. I now think nothing of it. I know my artists aren't looking at me or wanting to do something other than drawing. With two disabilities, though you would never see it if you met me in person and told you about them (crippled hand from birth as well as hearing loss), being nude has really helped me deal with my own self image and self esteem. I was given the "left hand of fellowship" at a college when I started doing this and would never give this up. Being nude has helped me in ways that college and people like those that attend there and like colleges never have.
Above all else, be true to yourself.
Pete
When my wife and I first met she was not a nudist. So when I told her she was shocked. As she was thinking about it she was kind of scared but she said she would try it once. She did and was hooked and now our daughter is being raised as a nudist. We are all happy with our lifestyle. Give it a try and you will like this lifestyle. We hope you will give it a try so good luck

lenne, I think I can relate to discovering your parents were nudists. When I told my parents just what sort of place Mazo beach is, my father's reply was that he wanted to visit a (now closed) nudist resort near our home, but was never quite 'brave' enough.
Getting back to your original question, I like (love, really) nude for the feeling of "oneness" with God and nature. For me that feeling is especially strong when I am nude outdoors. I hopr that helps you.

This is understandable, but keep in mind that those people are around us all the time, such as when we're out shopping or at work. The difference at a nude beach is that their intentions would be more obvious, and that they may make some false assumptions about you because you're nude. If you're with your boyfriend or parents, they probably wouldn't bother you. Unfortunately, the best advice for women going to nude beaches is to avoid being alone. It's a shame that it has to be that way.

Hey lenne, you are taking baby steps into nudity? Good for you. When I decided to be a nudist, I just dropped my shorts on the living room floor, right in front of everyone. My wife thought I 'lost it'. But over time, she has since become accepting of me wearing nothing. She is also a contributor here (hw).
Although she does not participate as much as I, she will go nude when the house is empty. When we go outside, she will cover up until she sits, unlike myself, I stroll freely around the backyard without any covering.
Like some of the others have commented, take it slow. You will eventually become used to wearing nothing. Try staying nude after a nice shower, try sleeping without anything on, and try become familiar to walking around the house without anything on. With you and your boyfriend, you have the opportunity to try different 'adventures' together.
Lots of luck to you and your boyfriend. At least you are ahead of the game in that your parents have been nudists, only you weren't aware of that. Now is the time to ask the questions of them. I'm sure they would be glad to share nudist issues with you.
Take care and look forward to reading more from you. Let us know how things turn out. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

hello Daveinct,
I guess it to that it's safer to go to a nudy beach with my bf or parents but I would probably NEVER go to a nudy beach alone in the first place.
You see, actually, I'm a very timid girl so this is all still a bit of adapting.
nudeM,
when I first read your comment, I really had to laugh.
Plz don't be insulted but I've just picktured it before my eyes how your friends/familly would react.
As I said to Daveinct, I'm a very timid girl so I would probably never do something like that http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Anyway, I've slept already a night in the nude and I must say that it felt pretty good.
To walk naked through the house is a bit harder...
It's not that I'm ashamed for my parents or something, but it's not that they are active nudists.
So if I do, I want to try it when I'm alone at home. http://clothesfreeforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
But I've got one question 4 you nudeM, how did you came to the thought of pulling your pants down in front of everyone.
I mean, where you a nudist then already or did you just got the thought like: "I want to become a nudist"
I mean, can you also become a nudist just from one day to another just like that?
