We recently visited Vermont for the first time. What a great place in summer, and I'm sure in winter as well.
We went tubing down the White River, having rented the tubes from White River Camping at Gaysville in southern Vermont. Great fun! The proprietor bused us upriver, and we tubed back down to the campground.
The trip can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the amount of recent rain. Our trip took 45 minutes and it was pretty exciting. Lots of rapids along the way -- not really dangerous, but we acquired a few bruises from being bumped over and into rocks.
We didn't go nude, but it would be wonderful to do so. The only "problem" would be that there are often people at the takeout point at the campground. Might be advisable to ask the proprietor if it's OK.
Someone has posted on this or another nudist site that skinnydipping is legal and well tolerated in Vermont. Ombreath (or anyone else) can you confirm?

have been to the Ledges a number of times, and was
happy to hear it had been saved. vermont for the most part is laid back, and fairly tolerant of social nudity. in many ways, a simpler way of life that should be preserved. the guide will only serve to preserve our lifestyle.
