The way I got started was over thirty years ago when I had just gotten home from Viet Nam. I was sooo stressed out. One night, I had gone to a party with my brother, when I found out I just wanted to be alone. We were only about three miles from home, so I told my brother that I was going to walk home. Once I got out on the long dark road home, I just HAD to get naked. So there I was walking down the sidewalk naked as the day I was born. When ever I heard a car coming I would duck into the bushes till all was clear. It was a night I will never forget. Ever since then I would try to find places where I could get naked. But the fear of getting bagged usually took the fun out of it.
Now my wife and I have discovered the nudity scene together and we'er hooked.

I have always enjoyed being nude for as long as I can remember. As a young boy I would be nude when alone in the house (my parents often left me alone at a very young age, and fortunately nothing bad ever happened). I would sneak out of the house at night and walk around nude. I would go to secluded areas in the day time and walk nude. I would go to the local beach, go out in the deep water, remove my swimsuit and swim nude with my swimsuit in my hand.

When I was 11-years-old, my sister's boyfriend said that he worked at a nudist resort. I thought that that sounded like a great job. I wish now that I could live and work in a nudist resort. I hope to retire to one in Florida.

All through my young adult years I wanted to go to a nudist resort but was told they wouldn't accept single men. Last year at age 55 I went to a nudist club North of me in Michigan. It was my first social nude experience and certainly wasn't my last! I fell in love with it and was hooked! I joined the club as a single. I've been married and have two grown daughters and four grandchildren, but I'm now divorced.

I hate clothes and love being nude! If I could I would live nude all the time. There are two resorts in Land O' Lakes, Florida I'm interested in checking out for retirement in a few years. I'm also a Christian who has learned that my beliefs are compatible with social nudism. Be nude and have fun. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I was raised on a farm and when I was about 12 I would go up in the barn and play Jungle Boy, running around in the hay nude and swinging on the ropes like Tarzan. That was so much fun. Of course, we would always swim nude in the creek all summer. But that was just normal. In junior high, all the boys swam nude in pool class.

I can remember being naked at the beach as far back as I remember. Casey & I are at the beach as often as we can. I was at teh beach on Saturday with Casey, Matt (best friend) and other members of the youth naturist group we formed.

Where having a youth group party this saturday at our place (Casey & my apartment).

I got started when I was a young teenager in jr. high school. I'm pretty sure I am the only nudist in my family. Others seem to be comfortable with nudity but none have actually admitted to being nudists.

I began sleeping half nude only wearing a t-shirt until I was able to get my own room. Then I began sleeping completely nude. This was not without nervousness because in my house with several brothers and sisters, locked doors were something of a taboo with my mother.

I joined the service and that presented a whole new set of problems. If you sleep nude you must be weird or your labled as something you are not. So I became a contortionist slipping in and out of underwear undercovers.

When I married my high school sweetheart, we slept nude together our wedding night and have ever since for the last 30 years. We practiced nudism in the house, sometimes venturing outside late at night which then lead to sun bathing in the backyard most of the day.. We had a small pool and spa that we would skinny dip in with the children. The kids got older and we stopped nudism together with the kids.
Why? We aren't sure and we wish we hadn't stopped.

We lived our nudist lifestyle like this until the children were grown and out of the house. Always nude when alone but clothed around them. Got caught a few times when they came home early but they just thought we had just got out of the shower or getting ready to get in to it. But once they were gone completely, we became nudist completely. We came clean this past summer. It was too difficult to keep secrets anymore and so we told them.

All is well in our immediate family. Our children know, their significant others know and that makes our living this lifestyle much nicer. /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I've always preferred being naked to being clothed. As a child, I remember my bro, sis, and I (I'm the middle) playing typical "naked games", you know, kind of like doctor but with a lot more imagination.

As time went on, the games ended but my love of being naked never waned. I even played naked in my room alone many times. But it wasn't until I got into college and had interent connections that I really got into nudism and even that was online only. It was still years before I actually visited a nudist park (no nearby beaches). I am now hooked. No one else in my family is a nudist. I am the only sane one of the lot!

I've been a secret nudist since I was about 12 or 13. I remember playing in the snow nude one night when I was in the 5th grade. That is the first time I can recall. I would often sunbath nude or swim nude as a teenager and young adult. After I came home from the first Gulf war in 1991 I decided that life was just to short not to do something that I have always wanted to do. So I went to a nude beach near where I lived and I cannot begin to describe the feeling. I have never felt so entirely and utterly free in my life. I don't get to do it as often as I used to but it still feels good.

Bob, were you crazy? Nudity in sub-freezing conditions is not recommended, is it? Let me guess, you did not live in SoCal back then, did you?

Nudity is better suited to a 30 degree Celcius environment, not a 30 degree Farenheit one.

I have also gone nude outside in a snow storm, but only with a hot tub near by, but to stay on topic, I became hooked on nudism working at a YMCA summer camp were we not only skinny dipped but paddled war canoes and hiked nude. I posted this story elsewhere in this message board. After that summer I have spent as much time as posible nude, including skiing nude, but on a warm spring day, not *** freezing cold. /infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I got started this past summer, when the weather was very hot. I dedcided to walk in my living room, naked. To my surprise, my wife didn't seem to care at the time. I just walked into the living room with nothing on, sat down on the recliner and watched television. We talked for a while, until she decided to go to town. When she came back home, I was in the back yard, cleaning the swimming pool, again in the nude. That is how I got started.

My wife, has since, stated she would like for me to cover up in front of the kids, so while inside the house, I will wear a towel or robe, but when I'm outside, I'll be nude a majority of the time. Our computer is in another room of the house now, so everytime I'm on the computer, I am nude ALL of the time. Sure, I'll go out to the kitchen to fetch a cup of coffee, but that is the only time I'll be nude while in the house. Another time is when the kids are gone, then I am nude all the time.

I got started when I was 18, by going to a nude BBQ at Juniper Woods,
the BBQ was put on by the club I am now a member of,
Northern Exposure Sun Club.

But, I became aware of nudism when I was 7,
after watching a televison show that toured a nudist resort.
It got interested as to why people would want to live naked.

My becoming a nudist came over a long period of time. The fist time I could remember, I was about 13 and visiting my cousin. He had a pool in the back yard in a very rural area. His mother had left for the store and we were there alone. One of us suggested (I think it was me) that we go skinney-dipping, and so we did.

Many years later, my wife and I went on a cruse with her best friend and her husband. He wasw an active nudist (which my wife and I did not know) and let us to Orient Beach from one of the ports.

A few years later, he and I sneaked off to a beach on Hawaii. Still later his wife came out to visit us and the three of us went skinney-dipping. My wife and I often went skinney-dipping together but alone.

Then, about a year ago we went back to Hawaii (Kauai) where we again found a popular nude beach. Something was different this time. In the past I admit, I was motivated by the thrill of seeing naked women (well, during my adult life), but this time it was what naturism is all about. The freedom and feeling of the sun, wind and waves on my body. From that day I was hooked. I like to be nude, especially in social environments but now I could care less if there are men, women, children or seniors reguardless of their physical apperance. My wife on the other hand still tries to limit her nude time to non-social settings.

My first time was this summer when I was spending a week at my parent?s apartment at the beach with my recent husband. I?ve been raised in a family where nudity is not accepted at all, even with reletives of the same sex, so I?ve never thought before about going to a nudist beach.
But my husband discovered there was a clothing-optional beach near the place we were, he has never practiced nudism before, but he wanted to try it since he?s much more desinhibited than me. First I denied him any opportunity to go, but finally I accepted by his insistance, leaving him very clear I was wearing my bikini anyway.
When we arrived we discovered a large sandy beach with not many people. Even I wasn?t going to be naked, we went to a place a bit apart from the crowd. My hubbie took off his swimsuit and we lied on the sand chatting for a while. It was a very hot day and nobody can see me so I said ?why not?? and took off the top to try how it felt the rays of the sun upon my breast.
Then we took a walk and I didn?t put on again the top, first I was feeling uncomfortable with my breast exposed but I become more relaxed walking by the seaside. We dip into the sea and my husband encouraged me to take off the bottom since we were in the water and no one would see us, I felt very awkward but very more curious so I did it, pull it down and nodded on my wrist. Feeling the water on my naked skin was one of the most delicious sensations I ever lived. We played, and swam for a while, and when it was time to get out of the water I left my suit on my wrist and walked out fully naked surprising my husband.
I supposed everyone was going to fix their eyes on my naked body, but nobody seemed to pay attention, so I stood fully naked the rest of the day, and we went to tha same place the following days.
Now I enjoy feeling the warm of the sun, the fresh air and the water on my body with no clothes. It?s great.
Hi from Spain.

When I was a child it was common bathing with my brother and stay nude with him or my parents, but at 11 or 12 when I started to develop my breasts and pubic hair it stopped cause I began to feel bad about it and needed more privacy, so I wasn?t nude in front of my male relatives anymore, no problem with mom or female friends who kept seeing me casual nude and I saw her too.
But being in my puberty I was very curious about human body and when I was home alone or in the privacy of my room I liked to remove all my clothes and stay nude.
In the summer, I used to stay at my grandpa?s house in the beach, and they had a big terrace that was kept from strangers look except for the neighbour who usually wasn?t there, so I often sunbathed in the nude, of course only when I was home alone. And sometimes at the beach I use to dip into the sea in secluded areas, alone or with a close friend, to take off my bathing suit just to feel the water on my naked body.
But it wasn?t until I was almost 17 that I tried social nudity.

Ive been a nudist (closet anyways, lol) for almost 2 years now. I think Ive always had an interest in nudism when I was around 11. I used to strip down naked when I was home alone and just did stuff Id normaly do, only naked. But I didnt know about nudism. I didnt even knew it existed, I thought it was just me and i thought "Ha, everyone wears clothes, who would walk around naked?". So I dropped the whole case for about 5 years. It wasnt until 2001, when I realized there are people known as nudists who live without clothes. I discovered it on a web-site that I accidentally got logged onto, but Im glad I did. I found out there are nudidts and this seems like the life for me. Now at 16, I really enjoy being without clothes. Its a lot more relaxing and comfortable. Plus Im not at all embarressed about myself. THe only problem is that right now I cant call myself a nudist, since I get nude at home maybe once a week since EVERYONE is home all the time and my family arent nudists and would be mad if they found out i was. (Im nude as I type this though /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )I only have 2 more years to step into the social nudism world. Hopefully, Ill be a nudist my whole life.

hmm, well i got started a few months ago. I dont remember exactly why, but i started sleeping without underwear, then started sleeping with nothing at all! Eventually i got the idea to go naked when no one else was home. i loved it! one day i tried going naked outside, i didnt want to risk being seen or anything so i tried it at night time. even though it was the start of winter in NY and i was freezing i enjoyed the feeling. eventually i moved to florida. i cant go outside as much as i used to but i still take every opportunity to be nude. i started with no underwear at night time when i was 15 and now im 16 and wanting to go nude outside along with other people! funny how things evolve huh?

Hi,

I always loved getting naked and feeling free as a kid. Come puberty I no longer freely disrobed. I always wanted too and later in life was interested in trying nudism someday.

When I finally did, I was 26. It was two years ago. I had just moved out of my parents house from FL to CA. I finally felt independent and free enough to try what I had always wanted to try and I was not disappointed in the least. I love the sun, sea and air.

I first tried it as San Onolfre beach. My first time was pretty scary, so I was quite a distance away from people and it took a while to get the nerve to remove the swim trunks. Since then, I have become more comfortable with the situation, my body and myself.

I'm glad I tried it and I happy again to experience the freedom I had as a kid.

I'd love to hear anyone else tell about how they got started.

How I got started? That was long ago, probably about 50 years when I was in the age 13-15 years. I visited a place in NorthEast Iceland called Grj?tagj?, a cave with warm and very clear, slow streaming spring water in the bottom, together with the class mates. This place was frequently visited by tourists from different parts of the world because it was very popular to take a bath in the clear spring water. There where two such caves at some 50 meters distance from each other, the smaller one reserved for women, the larger one for men. Most people however used the larger cave, even though women wishing privacy would use the smaller one. I think nobody did ever think of using clothes in the naturally clear and warm spring water in this natural cave.
I do not remember ever having any problem of being naked among other people taking a bath at this place. Since I visited it several times, I do not even remember when was the first time. This place was an attraction for tourists, and later on I went sometimes with my family out there when we had visitors from abroad.
Two events I remember better than others in Grj?tagj?. Once when I had a bath there among rather few people, a tourist bus approached the place, and out came a full bus-load of swedish school girls. They got very excited when they saw the water in the cave, and felt how warm it was. They undressed quickly and went into the water, and almost filled the water basin.
Another time I visited the cave together with my wife and two daughters and an american couple that was on a visit in Iceland, together with their grown up daughter. We undressed and had a bath there as usually, but the american family obviously had some problem. The american couple did not go into the water, but the daughter did after having her parents permit to do so. This was the only time I noticed that visitors did not want to have a bath there. Has that something to do with their Nationality?
In the Central Iceland we have the volcano Askja, and there is a very large crater with warm, milky white water in the bottom. I have been there a few times with tourists, and it is a common habit to step down the steep sides of the crater and have bath in the milky white water. It causes some smell of sulphur on the body afterwards, but that does not harm.
Except for the warm springs, nude bathing is not easy in Iceland, the sea is rather too cold for taking a bath. Therefore most of my experience on nude beaches is from abroad, from Germany, Slovenia, France and Spain. I have many nice memories from those events.

Hoddi,

Yes , it does have to do with our nationality and how we're raised here. Americans are generally taught that they are to hide their bodies and not show them to anyone. There are exceptions, of course, like those who are raised in a nudist home.

I remember one time when my granddaughter was 4. She was running around in her underwear in the house. Her mother yelled at her not to run around that way in front of her younger borther--as if HE cared at 3-years-old! One of my nephews did the same thing with his 5-year-old boy. He wanted to just wear his underwear in the house, and his dad said he couldn't do that in front of his mother and sister.

That's the way most Americans are raising their children--to be very ashamed of their bodies and embarrassed if anyone sees them nude. It took me until age 55 to get up the courage to try social nudity, and I LOVE it! I only wish I'd done it decades ago. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
